There really isn't any 'best' character in the game. They're all good in there own ways. You just have to play with each of them to see which one is the best for you.

In my opinion, the best two characters are Fox and Falco, but thats just my opnion.
When you combine incredible speed, and godlike tactics (Fox and Falco both share these traits) you can get one great battle. With Fox or Falco, the slower characters such as Bowser, DK and Ganondorf don't even stand a chance.

Personally, I like playing Mewtwo since he's swift and can be extremely powerful once you learn timing. There really isn't the "best" character in the game. It just depends on who suits you the best.

I think Captain Falcon and Bowser are good because Captain F. Is swift and strong and Bowser is heavy and hard to knock off the stage. If you don't like Captain F. Or Bowser, Gannondorf and DK are pretty much the same.

I don't think there is a best character in the game. My main character is Marth and I also use Ganondorf, Roy and Captain Falcon on a regular basis. But whoever suites you the best is basically your best character. Good luck in finding out who.

There is no "Best character". While shiek(top tier) indeed has a very good set of match ups, there are characters that shiek will still have trouble on(I.E. Fox)
Generaly speaking, there is no character who can beat Marth, Shiek, AND Fox(the three top tiers). Some characters have good match ups against one, or maybe even two of the three, but no character is at an advantage against all of them.

Smileyface is right there is no best character but I prefer fox or marth there quick and fox can reflect special attacks well and marth can reflect physical(normal)better.

There are better characters such as falco he's better than fox Dr. Mario is better than mario (I think) and pichu though it gains damage when it uses it's electric attacks it has stronger attacks like it's teleport it goes farther.
