Question for Sonic Heroes

What the heck is an emerald/emberald or whatever poeple are talking about it but ive never seen one before please tell me what they look like and where to get them on all the levels you can?

First things first, a chaos emerald is a very strong emerald that can be used to warp dimensions and turn sonic into super sonic. They look like any type of gem. There are seven and they are all different colors. Now, to get the seven chaos emeralds in the game. First just go into any even numbered stage like: stage 2, stage 4, ect. Look everywhere then soon you might find a cage with a golden key in it. Switch into your team's power formation, (knuckles, omega, big, ect. Destroy the cage and get the key. Now try to get through the level without dying or getting hurt. If you get hurt or die you will have to find a another cage with a key in it. If you completed the level with the key you will be transported to a special stage. Now, you will be in a pipe and a chaos emerald will float in front of you and start to run away from you. Try your best to keep up with the emerald. The emerald, in my opinion, is 2 times faster than you. To match up with the emerald's speed, grab the multi-colored orbs. This will boost up your speed boost meter. To use a speed boost press the B button. Now just mash the B button as fast as you can. Also watch out for the mines on the ground. If you crash into a field of them you will slow down and can not use your boost until 3 seconds after the crash. Try your best not to crash into them especially if your boosting very fast. If this seems confusing then I am giving you two options. As you might know team rose is the easiest team to beat. Also, team dark is the hardest. If you're having trouble finding the key and getting to the special stage try choice A. ( Choices at bottom) If you think getting the key way too easy and surviving is even easier, then try Choice B.

Choice A: Complete stage with team rose and the key. You will have to do the special stage.

Pros: It is easy to get the key and survive
Cons: The special stage is harder than any other of the team's special stages.

Choice B: Complete stage with team dark and the key. You will then be transported to the special stage.

Pros: The special stage is 10 times easier than team rose's special stage.
Cons: It is hard to get through the normal stage surviving with the key.
