How do you beat the final fortress with sonic team?

With tails, stop and fly up, when the beam stops, continue on with tails as the leader. Rarely, eggman shoots 1-3 beams. Hoped I helped!

If you mean the LAST laser in normal mode, use Sonic and hold down the B button, it never gets a chance to fire in time. If it's in Super Hard mode, I found out that Sonic can't outrun it, so use Tails to fly over it.

Personally, I do the smart thing and change leaders from sonic to tails, since tails can fly. I just stop where I am, fly in the air, and wait for the cannon to finish firing. Then, once the last cannon finishes it's laser, I float safely back down to the rails below me, swap back to sonic as leader, and finish the mission, without losing a life. Have fun. Oh, and by the way, if you think that it will hurt your chances of getting an A ranking, think again, because after all the action and explosions you had to go through, your total accumilation of points will make up for loss time for flying above that last laser, besides, it's only a few seconds.

When the rails light up jump to the next one when two light up go to the not lit up one and if you need to use tails and fly over the lasers

Just fly over it and land on it again.
