Question for Sonic Heroes

On the castle level,I'm stuck on the part where you push the button,the rings appear in the air, and Sonic says, "Leave this to me." How do I get through the rings?

Just press the square button when you are behind the rings as sonic you will fly using the rings

Go close to the frst ring and do the ring dash the B button.
