Ok this is a dumb question but how to you use the hookshot on the broken window because when I go to it,it says it's of no use right now

You have 2 either be billy and pull the handle out on the deck and quickly change into rebbecca and sheel get the hookshot but if they follow each other just keep pressing start untill whoever you are says lets split up or you stay here or I'll go or you can be Rebbecca and have billy get the hookshot

You open your inventory and select the hookshot and click use.
