Theres a glitch in user-submitted cheats and it says something like if you leave your game cube on for a long time all your unpurified Pokemon in your team will be purified or somthing along those lines.
Is this true?

You need to leave it on overnight and have something on your controler to make sure that your charecter will be walking and all the shadows in your party will be ready to be purified.
This is without a doubt true. I've done this before. It doesn't completely purify them, you still have to go to the shrine.
