Question for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Hey guys I need help
I'm a fellow Metroid fan and I have a little problem.how do I get across the Great Abyss after getting the screw attack system?I see no grapple hooks or platforms.and I can't seem to figure out how to use the screw attack.thanks for you're help!

The screw attack is the answer. Unfortunately, it's a bit picky on when you need to hit the jump button. It took me more than a few tries to get it down. My suggestion (other than just keep trying) is to wait until Samus drops a bit before hitting jump again (when she gets to the same height she was at when she started the attack). I know every time I pick up this game for a new play through, I tend to get a bit too eager and try jumping too quickly.
