All you have 2 do is put controller into slot 4 so he can't read you like in the playstation version and then just crawl below his floating objects and when you are close stand and attack or just lay down and shoot in first person mode

Firstly, when the screen goes black and it says "HIDEO" on the top right of the screen, change your controler to the fourth port so he can't read your mind. When ever he controls Meryll, shoot her with a tranquilizer weapon such as the M9. Wait for Mantis to appear and just shoot him with the FAMAS. Oh yeh, don't stay in first person mode for too long or Mantis will take control of your screen.

At the start of the battle Psycho Mantis will make the screen go black with HIDEO in the top right hand corner, while thats happening plug the controler into port 2, now Psycho Mantis can't read your mind and you can hit him pretty easily. Now just dodge all the things he throws at you like couches, chairs etc, and shoot him.
