After you recieved the Pig *you get the pig when you first have a barn built* Take the pig out in any forested area and set him down. When a ! Appears over his head, start digging with your hoe and you'll recieve a truffel : ]

Um, actualy you can't put the pig down in any forested area. It has to be beneath the "mora trees" if you have the beach house (oceanside w/e ) then the mora trees are fairly close. The moras, are by stardrop lake ( or whatever it's called!) where you can fequently find the duck in the fall (or summer?) but it HAS TO be in fall to get a truffle.
