Question for Harvest Moon: A wonderful life
Ok, I have a few questions, all of them revolving around crops/trees. I want to grow banana trees.
1.) Can banana trees grow in all lands? (ie. Infertile and fertile)
2.) Will banana trees grow S crops instead of B crops if I use fertilizer on them? (If so, how much fertilizer do I use and how do I know when to use it?)
3.) I've been put under the impression that once trees are fully matured, they do not need to be watered. How often do I water the trees BEFORE they are fully matured, and how do I know when they have matured?
4.) I've also been put under the impression that in order for a tree to grow, every space around it has to be empty. Is this true or are there any more details to that I should be aware of?
5.) I've been told that if I befriend the scientist (I forgot his name) by giving him fish, that he will give me a free seed maker instead of me having to purchase one for $6000. Is this true? If so, is there a time restriction as far as by when this must happen... And are there any specific details on how I actually get it...?
6.) If I plant a (B) Banana seed but get it to produce S bananas... If I use the seeds from those bananas to plant more trees... Will those trees automatically produce S bananas or will I have to fertilize those also?
7.) If I need to fertilize a tree to get it to produce S crops... Does it need to be fertilized before it has fully matured or can it be fertilized at any point in time?
8.) When is the ideal time to plant banana trees? I've been told I can plant them at any time, but I'm a little worried about wasting several thousand dollars planting all of my trees in the winter if they are going to wither before they have a chance to grow. (Also, how long do they take to fully mature?)

To answer your questions:
1. Banana trees will grow any where.
2. I am not 100% sure, BUT fertilizer does make S crops eventually. It's a trial and error process. (How much to use can be anywhere from 4-10, it differs. You can use it as soon as you plant your tree, use one bag/box, look for the little black spots, when they start to disappear, fertilize again.)
3. I never watered my trees, if you notice the soil where the trees are planted the ground never turns light brown indicating you need to water like other plants, if you water a spot it will not change colors.)
4. Tress have to have spaces, and any trees or other crops planted beside them will wilt and die. I plant in a checkerboard pattern like so:

5. Yes this is true. Darryl the scientist will leave his house at dark, after 5. I always got him at 5 or right after. He loves fish (luckily the cheap kind like snelt) and some home cooked meals like light pickles. I was able to offer him 2 gifts a day. You can catch him late nights by the Spring.) After he looks at you when you pass by, the next day be at his house at 1pm and go in. He is usually awake at 1pm. He should give you the seedmaker. IF you talk to Takakura and he mentions the seedmaker, then you will HAVE to buy it! It will show up in your ledger. AVOID TALKING TO TAKAKURA UNTIL YOU GET THE SEEDMAKER FROM DARRYL!!

7. I start right when I plant it or when it sprouts.
8. You can plant trees at any time but Banana trees won't produce fruit until the summer, it may take a whole year to get them to maturity. I planted mine in fall of Chapter One and they were tall by the end of winter and produced fruit the first week of the next Summer.

2)You need to use 40 bags of Fertiliser to get A Bananas and 40 more to get S Bananas. Use a bag right when you plant it, and when that Fertiliser goes away keep spreading more on the tree
3)Use the same method as the Fertiliser.
4)That is true. Any plants planted around a tree will die.
5)Befriend Daryl. Go to his lab at 1:30 pm or so in the Fall. He will give you a Seed Maker.
6)The S grade bananas will produce S Grade Banana Seeds, which will produce S Grade fruits again.
7)I don't really know. Sorry...
8)I plant them on the first day of the season after the season they're harvested in. EG - Harvest in Summer, plant on Fall 1. No, they don't wither in the Winter.
