OK I've got a couple of questions.
1. Everyone says theres a horse race in the game but i've never been to it. does it even exsist, and if so when and where?
2. How do you get Tartan. I'm in my second chapter and have been going into Takura's House for the past year after 5 like everyone says to do but nothing happans.
3. How do you get more choices for cooking besides salad and soup. Like I know you can get dessert but I don't know how.

Here are the answers to your question:

2. Luck. LOADS Of Luck. You also need to be a really good farmer and give Takakura milk everyday.
3. The more you cook the more you know.
Cook VERY often and you will learn more. (Check ppls houses for notes ofn how to cook).
To get more choices for cooking you have to cook like 32 (I think) out of the soup and salad section. The easiest thing to do is to plant alot of turnips, then after they are harvested, choose salad when cookign and one turnip. Now you have a light pickle.
2. To receive Tartan-a talking plant, go to Takakura's house between 5 & 10 p.m. He must be at home when you arrive. You will catch him talking to the plant. Inorder create hybrid seeds, you will need to visit the plant frequently and conversate with it, before the hybridizing option is offered.
