You buy them from Vesta's farm. You can get them from Marlin, Cilia, or Vesta. It is at the end of the list and before the apple tree.
It may take awhile, but watch the sides of the blue box(list) for RED ARROWS. If you see red arrows at the sides of the list, then press the R button to scroll over to more pages of the list. There you will see trees and manure listed.
