There is a room in the library that has a huge telescope in it. There are three mirrors in this room that apparently I have to adjust in some way. I have no idea what to do. Can you please tell me how I should adjust the mirrors?

You do not have to do anything in that room. It's just there for a place to get stuck trying to figure out.
After Kuwait 1991, you'll get the second crank. You have to adjust the three mirrors so that the beam hits the lens on the globe just behind the "telescope". It opens the hatch in the basement that allows you to reach the ancient city.
You cannot adjust the mirrors until after Kuwait 1991. You'll get the second crank needed to adjust the mirrors.
