How do you put a mod chip on your digimon I can't figure out how to equip one. Please help me

You can only equip chips onto your weapons and armor when they have mods. The more mods the better. The only weapons that can be equiped with chips are the first slot weapons. To add chips you select edit slot, if the weapon has mods. Thats pretty much it.
