Getting tan

So i Know you have to go to the island and get tan and all that good stuff I have been playing this game forever. I just am sort of curious cause I havent been to the island for like ages and I keep getting darker like I'm darker then Tom Nook its weirding me out. Ha i just want to know maybe why its doing this and will I ever not have a tan again?

The same thing was happening to me. You don't have to go to the island to get a tan. (At least not in the summer on a sunny day.) If you play the game at about noon everyday, then your character will get more tan (the sun is apparently it's strongest at this time). If you want to get rid of it, you need to either stop playing for a week or so OR you can use the clocks to change the time. After you get rid of the tan try to use an umbrella, even if it's sunny out. If this doesn't work, try playing at night or on days that it's rainy on the game. I'm not so sure exactly WHY this happens, but since summer is almost over, you may not need to worry about this for too much longer.

You have to either go to an island or your town(island is recommended) on a sunny day in late june or early july at about noon time for a week.stay in the sun in and keep your player standing in open space with no umbrella for about 10 min.you should have tan one after 10 min.stand for other ten min.you should have tan 2.there is a total 5 tans,light,dark,deep,super deep,black.
