Hints and Tips for Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
(GameCube)

This Pokemon game will come in october 2005. It will be like Pokemon colloseum, you are in the land of orre and it's baiscly the same plot as Pokemon colleseum but 3 twists there will be an extremly stong Pokemon named shadow Lugia, a new Pokemon I forgot it's name but it's the pre evlotion of sodawodo {spelling}, and you start out with a eevee. If you want more info go to www.pokemon.com

To purify Lugia you have to fill the purify chamber witha full tempo for all sets. Then you have to put Lugia in there and it will then say something strange is happening to lugia. Do not take Lugia out though keep Lugia in the purify chamber and go to the lab go into the purify chamber and then you have purified lugia.

When you try to catch a shadow Pokemon make it sleep then throw a ball when the ball opens press and hold B then move the analog stick the same way the ball moves....

When you get to pick your Eevee evolution, pick Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon. After you get to the Cipher Lab, get Shadow Seedot,Mareep, Houndour, and Teddiursa (from earlier). After you purify Seedot and level it up, it will evolve into Nuzleaf. Use the Leaf Stone you found after beating Spy Naps and rescuing Prof. Krane. The Nuzleaf will be a Shiftry. After you purify Mareep and level it up twice, it evolves it Flaafy. Houndour is also a good fire Pokemon, so you can destroy enemy grass types. If you raise Teddiursa and treat it good (and maybe give it a Soothe Bell), it's Return attack is very powerful. Raise them all and they will make a formidable team.

Well this is what I did and it worked...
.All's you have to do is make sure you get all 9 sets with full tempo (flow does'nt matter) and put shadow LUGIA in set 5 and then it should say that there is something different about the LUGIA then go to the Pokemon HQ and then it will say there is a Pokemon that can open it's heart stand in the centre platform of the purify chamber and then voila he will be purified.This really works belive me.

P.S he changes his colour back after he gets purified so might be a big dissapointment for some people.

Go to a shop and buy about ten Pokeballs. The shopkeeper will say, "Thank you! As a bonus have a Premier Ball!"

Trade with Emerald

If you need help finding CD's, try looking in shelves and check the basement room on the hook levels. Also check in the CD shop and Do certain CD's for a side B on them if it says side A.

When you Battle Master, have four regular Pokemon, Shadow Salamence, and a space for Shadow Lugia in your party. Face Shadow Lugia, snag it, and let it join your party. When you face Master Greevil, you should have Salamence and a regular Pokemon in your party. Switch your regular Pokemon with Shadow Lugia, so you'll have Salamence and Lugia in your party. This is good, because Master Greevil's Shadow Pokemon can't hurt and defeat you a lot, but you should still carry recovery items. Use Salamence's Shadow Rush and Shadow Hold and use Lugia's Shadow Storm and Shadow Down. When Master Greevil's Pokemon is weakened, use Ultra Balls to catch it.

In Mt. Batlle you don't have to beat it straight through or with the same team.

Also, there's only one way to purify Lugia, get max tempo in all chambers and put Lugia in any chamber,then TADAH!!!

It doesn't matter if there's other shdow Pokemon being purfied.

The Three Pokemon Dunking give you suck execpt for the last one. To make it esier for you, you can get some of the Pokemon or all of the Pokemon that Dunking wants off of your gameboy. The three Pokemon that dunking gives you are (they are all in order) Shuckel, Meditite, Lavitar.
It's worth getting them all because of the Lavitar which later evoles into Tyranitar.
Those are the Pokemon that Dunking give you.

In Gavon Port go to the parts shop and the man at the counter will give you apart to robo kyorge after you ride kyorge you are at Citadark isle.

After you beat 2 morons (including all chifers followers),walk into the building go up a elevateor you and Greevle will be in a colosseum he will send out lugia (USE A MASTER BALL!!!!!!!!!)

After you defeat Master Greevil and captured all the shadow Pokemon and purifly all of them, go to Gateon Port and the Miror Radar will just go on. Miror B. Will appears at the big lighthouse and you need to bring your best party, because he has 5 Ludicolos and a Shadow Dragonite. Here's Miror B.'s party:

Note: Have a lot of Ultra Balls, Net Balls, Poke Balls, Timer Balls, Premier Balls, that Luxury Ball from the S.S. Libra, and Great Balls, because Dragonite is a tough one to catch. Just bring Dragonite's HP down to the red zone and use the balls to catch it and then you defeat him.

The Mt. Battle Master Battlus has the following good Pokemon:

If you are cheap of buying recovery items like potions, you can save some money. Just go to Pyrite Town's vending machine (in front of ONBS building). Super potions are $600 and recovers 50 HP, a drink in the machine that has water (forgot name) recover 50 HP but is only $200. Hyper Potions are $1200 and recovers 200 HP, a drink in the machine recovers 200 HP but costs $400. Other drink costs $300 and the other costs $350. They recover about 100 to 200 HP. Don't even bother finding cheap Poke Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, or any other ball because they all are the same price everywhere and it's the same for Poke Snacks.

In Phenac City, when the Cipher Attack starts and you go upstairs in the PokeMart, you'll see a Cashier sleeping, but when you move anywhere near him, you can see that his head is moving while snoozing.

When you go to Gorigan's lair in the Cipher Factory, see his computer screen and it's a Dusclops around it.

Put one Pokemon in the daycare,then leave your gamecube on all night. In the morning go to the day care and your Pokemon will have grown about 40 to 50 levels depending on the level that it was on.

Put Lugia in the purify chaimber set 1 and make it a best circle.Now make all other sets into best circles.(don't put any other shadow Pokemon into purification chaimber!!!!) Wait a while. Then you should hear a buzz and your controller should rumble indicating that it is ready. Go to Pokemon HQ lab and purify it.

P.S. I don't recommend purifing Lugia, but hey-it's your game!
P.S.S. I wouldn't go through the trouble. I don't think it's worth it.

To get togapi you have to go to The Outskirt stand and talk to a guy by the door. It won't come normally though you'll have to purify it.

When you are at the main menu go to "vs mode",then choose the option on the left, not "group battle".

Then I think you choose anything goes, then choose "ULTIMATE" battle. When the Pokemon come up you should have very rare ones on your team such as DEOXYS. You can also use JIRACHI, MEW, MEWTWO etc.

If you don't like the Pokemon the computer has chose for you, just press B then press A to go back into it. You should have different pokemon

To instantly purify Lugia without doing things over and over all you must do is have the tempo in all nine chambers at the highest level. Then put Lugia in any one of them and it will be instantly purified. I found this at Serebii.net which is a website that is only about Pokemon. Go to it and check it out. No subscriptions needed. The only way to purify shadow Lugia is using the purify chamber, now what you have to do is have all 9 sets have max tempo, than put shadow Lugia any set you want, than it will say, "shadow Lugia is different,maybe..." or something like that, anyway, after that, shadow Lugia's heart gauge will be empty, so you exit the purify chamber, the go to Pokemon HQ lab(unless your already in there) and go to the purify chamber and than go ahead and purify shadow Lugia.
After purifying Lugia, it's moves are going to be:
Psycho boost
Feather dance
Earthquake
Hydro pump

Unlike the Pokemon Colosseum, the final boss battle for XD Gale of Darkness is a lot more challenging because Greevil has all Shadow Pokemon in his party. Its best suggested that you use the Master Ball on Shadow Lugia before you battle him.

He will have a Shadow:

Articuno
Exeggutor
Rhydon
Tauros

To be able to capture these Pokemon in one go you need to have a pretty even team that will be able to stand strong against the Shadow Pokemon so that you can catch them. It will also be helpful if you have moves that cause status conditions like Paralysis, Sleep, or Frozen.

Note: On a side not don't be scared if you accidentally defeat any of his shadow Pokemon your first time around, you will be able to go back to him later on to capture the Shadow Pokemon that you missed from your first battle.

After you beat aldos go to where Master greevil levitate chair was their shoud be a shiny thing on the floor it should be Battle cd 46 go to Realgem tower and you can use at the battle sim

I have heard the pile of rumors about battling Mew. And I have solved it. It is both true and not true. You only battle a Mew Simulation. It is on Battle CD 46.

You find it AFTER the battle with the Grand Master. At the part where he locked you behind the glass wall. You notice the part he was floating on. Go to that platform and you will see a shiny thing on the ground. Go to it and press A.

You will obtain Battle Cd 46. Then go to Relgam Tower and enter the Battle Simulation Room. Show the receptionist the CD and then it will start. You will have Eevee, and all of the other evoloutions. All at Lvl.30 and Mew at Lvl. 50. It takes a good strategy to beat him. The key is switching Pokemon,confusing him and paralizing him.

One hint... After you start switch Vaporeon to Jolteon. Mew's Thunderbolt will do nothing. And then Paralyze him. Then confuse him with Umbreon. Until Eevee faints make him keep using Growl. Mew mostly only attacks the others.

And after everyone else faints. Use Umbreon and Espeon. Make them use bite over and over. Mew will ether not attack by being paralyzed or hurt himself in confusion. There is about a 20% chance that he can attack. You have beaten Mew.

The reward is the Sacred Ash. It will revive every fainted Pokemon to complete full health. So now you know.

When you reach Gateon Port, you must go into the parts shop. Go in, and a man will be standing on your right. He'll say something about Pok�mon, yadda yadda, and then say something about how interesting Eevee is and how it can evolve into 5 different forms. He'll notice you have one, and ask you to pick one of 5 items:
Water Stone-Vaporeon
Thunder Stone-Jolteon
Fire Stone-Flareon
Moon Shard-Umbreon
Sun Shard-Espeon

For me, I picked Sun Shard because out of all, Espeon is my fave. It also has pretty decent moves. If you pick the Sun Shard, after a few battles Eevee will evolve. It takes a while to learn any Psychic moves, but when it does it can be very helpful. It is also easy to train. My Espeon is at level 55 and knows Bites, Psychic, Morning Sun and Quick Attack. In the battles I've faced with Espeon, it easily comes out on top. It can take care of Ghosts, Poison Types, heal itself, and take care of a hard foe your other Pok�mon has a type disadvantage over (eg. You have a Vulpix and Espeon on the field and your opponent has a Rhyhorn. Use Psychic, Psybeam or Confusion and you can take care of it)

So in a few words, pick Espeon if you want a strong SP. Attack and Speed Pok�mon. It is very good in hard situations (just watch out for Shadow moves)

If you have just started out and you have a shadow Pokemon and don't want to battle just walk around a lot

If you are struggling and your Pokemon won't do much damage then you need to train. A real good way to train is battling at Mt. Battle. They give decent experience depending on your levels. If you want to gain more experience then go battle against people about 4-6 lv. Higher than ou and keep battling them. Don't be lazy and train it will help you in the long run.

Get all the Pokemon you can in the purify chamber and place Lugia in the middle and just wait go do some other missons and it will slowly purify him it not that hard it just take awile.

To purify shadow Lugia you have to get all full tempos in the purify chamber with your Pokemon.Or just get the amount of 36 Hoppips at the oasis poke spot.(he will be a lv.61)

Many People are wondering what to do after they catch Shadow Lugia and defeat the leader of Cipher, now what can they do?

There are many things that you can do:

1) Battle Eagun, once you defeat Eagun in a battle you will be able to go to the Orre Colosseum and take the challenges there.

2) Go back and try to capture any shadow Pokemon that you have missed. You can battle their trainers again or you can find Miror B. In Colosseum battles and catch Shadow Pokemon that you missed that way. Once you have all 82 you can go to the lighthouse in Gateon City and find Miror B. At the top of it, he will have Shadow Pokemon #83 a Shadow Dragonite.

3) After clearing the first round in the Orre Colosseum then head to Agate Village where there is reports that one of Dr. Kaminko's inventions go out of control and Pokemon's voices are missing. Receive the Voice case and go around finding the Pokemon that don't have their voices. Talk to 5 Pokemon in Agate before you head to get the Voice Case from Dr. Kaminko. The problem will be in Pyrite Town where a Shroomish is affected, and four Pokemon are also infected in Gateon City and Phenac City. Once you visit all 12 Pokemon go to the Wobbuffet in Agate Village and restore the voices, you will receive a lucky egg for your efforts.

4) Take up challenges in Orre Colosseum and also in other Colosseums.

1 XD: Gale of Darkness (whenever you are able to trade)
1 Gameboy Advance, DS, or Gameboy Player

1.first you need a Masterball in EITHER XD or Emerald, if in XD, trade over to Emerald

2.Use the Copy/clone items cheat on the cheat menu fot the game(to much to type) how many Masterballs you copy is doubled(1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 4 etc...)

3.Trade them back to XD, this is especially good for catching Greevil's Legendary birds and all Shadow Pokemon 100% without fail

4. Repeat process if needed

You know that you have to beat the game to unlock Orre colosseum. Well here is a good party that helped me A LOT. I am a fan of Umbreon so dont blame me. Maybe you could switch it with ur starter but i never tried that.

Umbreon (duh): Faint Attact, Shadow Ball, Protect, nd ur choice what u think is best.

Gardevoir trust me on this. you might want to evolve your purified Ralts): Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Nightmare, Some attack move (This is incase they cant sleep so you have something to fight with).

Rhydon: Fire Blast, Thunder, Earthquake and either protect or some other move.

Snorlax: Fissure (i actually got fissure for snorlax), curse, and some other moves that you like.

Dewgong: Sheer Cold, One of the beam moves, Protect, and anything you want.

Tyranitar(evolve your Larvitar): Thunder, Fire Blast, Earthquake and anything you want or like

I know you might think this is crappy but this got me through considering my umbreon is lvl.91 and the rest are in lvl 70's or 60's or 80's. I actually managed to beat the first guy but i died against the second one because of the others low levels. When you use earthquake Umbreons protect keeps it from losing HP while the opponents pokemon take a hit.I havent played XD for a while now because the disc broke but I still remember most of the moves. I said you choose a few moves so you atleast have freedom to throw in a move that will pwn them that I may have not mentioned. Keep the flute thing with you and status healers because you can't Call to your pokemon. Hope this helps. Plz tell me if i messed up.

If you want to purify more Pokemon I suggest you go to MT. Battle and start from area one. This way you go through a lot of battles causing the pokemon's heart to open more. When the heart ready to open finish the area and go to the PC. Place the Pokemon in the purification chamber and then you can either take and battle with more shadow Pokemon or go to the lab and purify the pokemon. Note: If you continue to battle I suggest you fill all nine sets. Note2: If I'm correct the strongest Pokemon you should have is purified so I suggest you keep that with you.

For vulpix use a firestone. For chansey you have to give it friendship by training it. For weepinbell raise it to lv 21. Spheal evolves twice. Once at level 32 and again at level 44. Sandshew evolves at level 22

You know how sometimes you kill shadow Pokemon,then get really mad and have to wait for Miror B. To catch it again? Well,all you have to do is have Shroomish and evolve it into a breloom,or have a mawile or zangoose.Any of these Pokemon will work,but they need to have the move FALSE SWIPE.You also need to get the SUN SHARD from the guy in Gateon port and evolve it into and Espeon.That espeon must keep it's TAIL WHIP move,which lowers a pokemon's defense.Use both FALSE SWIPE and TAIL WHIP on the shadow Pokemon and if you continue to use this combo,it's health will be at 1 hp.Then just snag it with a poke ball.

Go to the Pokemon lab go to the room with the snag machine case you can,t do this if your not at the part when you have to go to cidark isle. When you walk in pro.krane will be there she will sho you a secret room and thers a Pokemon case click onit and you have a master ball

In Mt. Batlle you don't have to beat it straight through or with the same team.

Also, there's only one way to purify Lugia, get max tempo in all chambers and put Lugia in any chamber,then TADAH!!!

It doesn't matter if there's other shdow Pokemon being purfied.

Ok.You find a shadow or wild pokemon.You damage it down pretty good.Try to give it a status condition or lower it's defence(th higher defence,the harder to catch.)Then you throw a ball.(this is my trusted catching call.)You think it's not going to catch it.Try this.Push+Hold A+B,then when the ball opens,Hold L+R,then it might make you feel better on catching things.

In order to get all 3 Pokemon, you have to beat MT Battle without changing pokemon or leaving Mt. Battle . You have to do it 3 times to get all 3. They have special moves!

Hey, I know many of you do not want to purify Shadow Lugia because:

A. It looks cooler
B. Shadow moves are fun! (lol)

But for those of you who do...

You might be able to do the thing having the tempo at MAX on every set with only Lugia in and in set 9, but I'm not sure.. Anyway, my way's a little complicated, but nevertheless use this method or the other, if it works. As I was saying, you'll need:

A Gamecube (duh)
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness with completed game file (duh)
Pokemon Colosseum with completed game file
Gameboy Advanced
Any GBA Pokemon game
A GC-GBA Link Cable

1. Properly hook-up GC-GBA cable.
2. Insert Pokemon Colosseum in the Gamecube, while inserting your GBA Pokemon game into your GBA.
3. Pick any two Pokemon, one for Colosseum, the other for your GBA ((NOTICE: Magikarp may be the best choice for all of these trades)).
4. ((NOTICE: THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE A TIME FLUTE!)) Whichever Colosseum Pokemon you trade, use the "give" command and give it a Time Flute.
5. Go to the trade center (on the gc) and any top floor of a Pokemon center (gba).
6. Complete the trade.
7. Turn off the gc, and put in XD. 8. Trade the Pokemon with the Time Flute with any Pokemon in xd except Lugia (and any shadow Pokemon, for that matter, for obvious reasons)
9. Go to the Relic Stone in XD. Use the time flute on Lugia.
10. Voila! Purified! NOTE: You may want to save first, as many like Shadow Lugia better.

Both should know false swipe.Use false swipe on his Pokemon until they have
One hp left.(make sure you have revive if they faint)If youre still having

(either electrbuzz or jolteon because their fast)that knows thunder wave.

This hint is only for those snaged Lugia, (you may also look at this for future prefrencises)here the steps of how to purify Lugia.

Step 1: Purify many Shadow Pokemon.

Step 2: Get the tempo to max on all nine purfication chambers.

Step 3: Place Lugia in chamber nine, if you pull this off, you will see somthing that says, "somthing's different about Lugia, maybe...".

Step 4a: Look at Lugia's shadow bar, it's empty.
Step 4b: Purify Lugia.

Thats all of the steps on how to purify Lugia, also, Lugia will return to normal colors.

First leave several poke snacks in the oasis poke spot and eventully hoppips will appear. Once you have a 36 hoppips put them all in the purifying chamber it does not matter what order you put them in but put 4 in every circle. Put your shadow Lugia in set 5 and it will say something strange is happening to Lugia. Purify it and enjoy your bright colored lugia!
This works because flying is super effective against grass and hoppips are grass flying!

If you plan on taking on Orre Colosseum, this is something to help you.

Pok�mon that can set up combos are as follows:

Ninjask
Smeargle
Breloom

An explanation:

Ninjask - Uses Substitue, Swords Dance and then Baton Passes it to a Pok�mon to demolish the opposing team with Physical Attacks, also passes on Speed because of it's ability.

Smeargle - Similar to Ninjask. If it's faster, use Spore, Substitue and pass to something that can set up really easily.

Breloom - Very similar to Smeargle. Spores something, Substitues, then uses Leech Seed or Focus Punch.

Other Pok�mon that can set up combos are:

Kyogre
Groudon

Kyogre - Drizzle ability means you can hit ANYTHING with the move Thunder. Giving it 100% accuracy + Domination of more Water moves, AND the benefit of Calm Mind makes this thing a true terror.

Groudon - Heck, this thing is worthless with Special Attacks, which is why he's awesome with Physical attacks. Simply put, use Swords Dance, Earthquake, Rock Slide, then a move like Flamethrower or anything related, and give it Salac Berry, it will outspeed a few things and cause some destructive terror.

When you defeat Mt.Battle without changing your team, you get to choose one of the Johto Starters(Chickorita, Cyndaquil and Totidile). The movepool you get for each is as follows:

Chickorita:
Tackle
Growl
Ancientpower
Frenzy Plant

Cyndaquil:
Tackle
Leer
Reversal
Blast Burn

Totidile:
Scratch
Leer
Crunch
Hydro Cannon

The best combo to use in the mega hard orre colesseum that nobody has ever talked about and I almost finished, is using the following combination

1.Use electrode and Golem
2.Electrode if right, sholud move first and use explosion.
3. The tale out a steel Pokemon like metagross
4. Golem shoul then be able to use explosion as well
5.The oppenets Pokemon will die and you will wim
Note: this only works for the follwing types you are going aganist: normal, water, grass,dark,physic,fire etc. Not ghost, rock, or steel.
