He is equipped with the Vague Katti. If you recruit Stefan, you will be able to get the Occult scroll in Chapter 16 in the Info menu at your base.
Tip: Thieves (Volke and Sothe) will almost always find a hidden item due to the effect of the Thief class that's built into the game (based on the Theif's luck stat+50), but no matter what, all units have a luck-based percentage chance according to their luck stat+1 (except thieves for calculations).
Data from multiple sources, but should be on this site as well.

Fighter band (+5% HP, +5% STR) Boyd carries it at the beginning

Mage band (+10% MAG) Defeat the boss in Ch 7 to get this
Paladin band (+5% HP, +5% SPD) Oscar carries it at the beginning.
Pegasus band (+5% LUCK, +5% RES)Marcia carries it when you get her in Ch 9
Priest band (+5% LUCK, +5% RES) Rhys carries it when you get him in Ch 2
Soldier band (+5% HP, +5% DEF) Defeat the boss in Ch 8
Sword band (+5% SKL, +5% LUCK) Mia carries it in Ch 7 when she appears
Thief band (+5% SPD, +5% SKL) Defeat the boss in Ch 3 for this band

White Gem $100,000 and other items at the desert level
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
As you should already know there are items hidden in the sand at the desert chapter to get the white gem (the highest selling item in the game) go to where you find Stefan and keep searching in that corner you should find a white gem, psychic (a staff that heals from a distance) go down from the rock near the ruined shrine and to get boots go to the point in between the castle and the mountain. Keep looking by setting a guy in each column and moving them one over at a time to search for items. There is a silver blade, Stefan (right hand corner with Lethe or Mordecai), a white gem, a dracoshield, boots, psychic a lot of coins, plus other items. They change some items at times of playing/file number.
Good Hunting.

Dodge or Avoid Most Enemy Attacks
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
To do this, you must be Ike(it only works for him). Get into a battle with him and just when the enemy is loading his attack, hold L and R. If done at the right time, Ike is more likely to dodge/avoid more attacks. This technique works best with Bows and Javelins.
Rescue/drop units within one turn
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
Requires someone with secondary movement (Paladins/Wyvern Lords etc).
If one of your units, such as a Sage, is in a bad situation and you need to rescue them, you obviously know that you have to drop them on the next turn, meaning the rescued unit will have to wait until the second turn after the rescue to be commanded again. It is actually possible to avoid this situation if the rescuer with secondary movement is nearby and there is also another unit within range of the secondary unit's secondary movement (preferably as far back as possible if your units are in danger).
Now, have your Paladin/Wyvern Lord/etc move up to the Sage/etc and rescue them, then move back to the adjacent unit and select "Wait". Now, have the adjacent unit stay where he is and select the command "Take". After this, you will realise that the command "Drop" will appear. Have this unit drop the rescued unit on an adjacent square. You will then be able to use all three units the next turn.

How to Beat the Game Easy on Normal or Hard mode!!!!
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
This requires Reyson, a good healer with 20+ mag w/ a heal staff or a healer that can use a recover staff. They must have about 15+ uses. This also calls for some strong units for protection, and obviously Ike, Ena or Nasir, and Tibarn, Giffca, or Naesala. I reccomend using this battlefield as training for your Laguz master (other than Giffca, as he's lvl 20) and Ena or Nasir. Kill every enemy on the map except King Daein AKA Ashnard. Once you get to his platform, put Reyson on a stair, and Rhys or your healer of choice diagnoly back from him. Once Ike is there, end your turn. I hope you gave Ike Aether, or you gave your healer many staves. Hope for a Aether, as it's very hard to get a critical. At the start of each turn before you attack Ashnard, place Ike directly in front of the King Daein. Wait. You will have done 9-27 damage, unless you hit an Aether. Bring Ike back in between your healer and Reyson. Chant for Ike and heal him. Then move Ike in front of Ashnard. Repeat this process, and eventually, you'll see his fall. His mount will be brought back to life. He is a Laguz dragon of the name Rajaion. If you don't think this is a good idea, use Giffca or Tibarn and heal a lot. Voila! You beat the game! You'll unlock fixed ex. Mode, as well as extras which has these options: Illustrations, Theater, Sound Room, Trial Maps, and Connect GBA. Have fun, and good luck!
Retrieve Shinon and Gatrie
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
Okay, so in Chapter 8 you find out that Shinon and Gatrie have left your team following Commander Greil's death and Ike being left in command of the mercanaries.
You can get both of them back in your team, but unlike most characters which simply require you to have Ike talk to them you have to do more to get them back.
But, of course, you want them back since Gatrie is the best Knight (and best General when he classes up) and Shinon is the best choice for a Sniper (classed up Archer, Shinon was already classed up when you first got to use him). Here's how:
Gatrie:
Gatrie reappears in Chapter 13 after about two months have past since his leaving the company, aboard the Begnion vessel. In the small opening cutscene you might recognise a certain Knight in blue armour aboard it.
During this time, Gatrie also has a small conversation with his employer, Astrid, mainly noting that this isn't such a tough job and he was once a top-notch mercanary. When you cross onto the Begnion ship Ike is able to talk to Gatrie, but Gatrie won't join you.
Instead, talk to Astrid (Bow Knight on horseback) with Ike and she'll join your team. Then talk to Gatrie with Astrid and he will re-join you. He will be at the same level he was when he left you, and will be equipped with a Steel Lance.
Shinon:
Shinon doesn't reappear until Chapter 18, much later in the game, and has been hired by the Daein army. Before you begin the fight select View Map and he will be standing near two chests in the centre area of the fort. He will appear as an enemy unit. After you begin the fight there will be, as usual, some scenes of the commander of the enemy unit speaking to some soldiers and such.
After the commander (who's called Jayaga or something like that) is finished speaking with Naesala he will go and speak to Shinon, who clearly shows that his character and personality has not changed in his six to eight month (by the game reckoning) absense from the company. Make sure Rolf is in your team when you begin this fight.
When you come clsoe to where Shinon is standing, place Rolf and Ike in front of everyone else. Send Ike round the corner and Shinon will go to attack him. Not much is said during the fight, but make sure Ike has plenty of Hit Ponts remaining because Shinon can deal some big damage. Afer this have Ike retreat and end your turn straight afterwards.
Shinon will come round the corner and talk to Rolf (you can also talk to Shinon with Rolf for the exact same conversation, but letting Shinon come to Rolf is far easier and safer). After the conversation DO NOT attack Shinon with Rolf like Shinon said to because Shinon will probably win if you have used Rolf, and will definately win if you haven't used Rolf (except on Chapter 9). And besides, Ike has to be the one to kill him.
So, after the conversation have Ike kill Shinon (who won't be able to attack Ike due to the range, so this shouldn't be hard). After his Hit Points are out Shinon tells Ike to finish him off, but Ike tries to save his former companion, despite Shinon's hatred towards Ike. Shinon calls Ike an idiot and then appears to die, Ike will receive Shinon's Brave Bow which you would do best to keep.
As soon as you win this chapter, the first scene will show Shinon cursing his bad luck. Then Ike will appear. After the conversation Ike finally manages to persuade Shinon to re-join the company.
There you have it. The return of operation Thunder and Lightning.
Avoid fighting Nasela
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
In chapter 19 you have to fight Nasela to avoid fighting him talk to him with Januff or Ulki and they will tell him about leanne and the forest, and when it is his turn he will go and talk to prince Reyson and then Nesala will leave and the other crows will leave to. (note: need to have Reyson alive for this hint to work, and if Reyson died and you talk to Nesala with Ulki or Januff he will not attack you, unless you attack him)

Unlock Stefan
Verified by: Mr. Advice
Bogus Report:
Stefan is a special Swordmaster. You can unlock him on Feral Frontier. To get him you need to move Lethe or Mordacai to a square in the yop right corner.
Starting from the top right corner, move three squares to the left and one down - Stefan will appear. If you move there with one of your two laguz he will join your party.
If you move there with any Beorc he will appear and give his S-level swords called the Vague Katti. If you recruit him he comes with the sword.
Get A Deadly Swordmaster By Chapter 8
Verified by: unverified
Bogus Report:
On chapter 7 if you send Ike northward on the next turn a myrmidon named mia will appear.
She will speak to Ike, then she will join you. Keep her alive for the next chapter. At the next chapter you will have the ability to control a base.
Go to manage and give Mia enough exp. To level her up to level 19 with 95 exp. Left over.
Then go to the shop and forge a blade based on a steel sword and make the critical points go all the way up. This will cost money but it is worth it.
Equip it to Mia and start the chapter. Go to the left opening along with Boyd, Oscar, and Soren. Then kill a couple of people to get her to level 21 to change class into a swordmaster.
Also the blade you made will make her critical attack go even higher! (Note: place Titania on the south entrance with a level 20 Ike on the right.
Make him level 20 by using the exp. Cheat at the base equiped with an Armorslayer for the knights.)
