Play as the other characters on adventure mode

To play as Billy's friends, simply do the rest of the stages in each area until you get to a mission to save one of Billy's friends.

Do that mission successfully and you will unlock one of Billy's friends to play in adventure mode.

This will also unlock extra stages in each area....
