Game Reviews for Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004

Quick Reviews

The same old game....Added 2 Jul 2004, ID #2778
Right. Let's make one thing clear. If you are not a fan of Yu gi oh, turn around, and read another review of a different game, as you will hate this game with a passion. it will become your eternal enemy. Unless you generally like card games, like magic the gathering, or the pokemon card game. Then maybe you stand a chance in actually knowing how to play the game, and learning how to play in less than 3 years.

This game is definitely complex. There are thousands of different cards in the game. I used to be a Yu gi oh fan, and i have got this game, played it, but in the end, this is my last memory of a game where i enjoyed yu gi oh games. Unlike my review of DBZ Taiketsu, i have actually got some good things to say about this game. It is the best card based strategy you will come across. There are loads of opponents to unlock, thousands of cards to help create hundreds of different strategies. It does get addictive, but sadly, you are only an addict for a short amount of time. Once you've beaten everyone, it's just a matter of collecting the cards and perfecting your strategy. But the biggest dissappointment of this game is the fact that there is no tutorial. there is a brief manual on how to play in the instruction booklet, but what it could do with is a practice duel at the start with a step by step help screen advising on what you do, how to do it, what options you have on the start of your turn, etc.

To conclude. I really don't know. If you like strategies and have an open mind, it may be worth the £29.99 that it costs. If you hate yu gi oh, that you will naturally be repelled by it anyway.
