Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for Game Boy Advance "Boss FAQ" By Mykas0 Mykas0 [at] gmail.com version 2.0 06-4-2005 BE SURE TO READ THIS FIRST PART! You can read this faq as long as you don't change ANY part of it (including this small introduction). Also, you can print it but only for use at your home, you may NEVER sell this stuff or else you will make me really mad and maybe I won't work anymore! Finally, if you want to use this faq on your site you have to mail me and ask me for it, I will almost surely grant it to you! =) Plus, if you live in Portugal... you're not allowed to read this guide, since most people around here tell me that I don't have this game. Therefore, I can't write this guide and you can't read it! ;-P Also, I must warn you that this faq is full of small spoilers, so if you don't want the game spoiled for you, just don't read it! The order in which I disposed the Bosses are the order I fought them in my game, but you don't need to do it exactly like this, as most of the things only depend on your level or, sometimes, in the cards that you have! Finally, I only consider "bosses" those enemy battles from which you can't run away (except for the Tutorials, but I doubt you need help with those ones... Unless you don't know english, but if you don't know english why on earth are you seeing this o.O'' ), and I will try to cover all of them in this faq! FINALLY, from now on I am accepting contributions for YOUR OWN boss strategies, if you want to send me yours you can see the contact information at the end of this faq. However, be always sure to include this data: - Subject of the e-mail: "COM BOSS give" ; - Name you wanna be credited with ; - Name of the boss you are providing your strategy for ; - Your strategy. If you are the first person to submit a certain strategy, you will be credited in this faq, your strategy will be added to the proper section of the faq and you will also receive a confirmation e-mail! Hope you like to contribute for this and help other players worldwide! Also, I am no longer accepting contributions for these fights: - Captain Hook (with Sora); - Last battle against Riku (with Sora, commonly known as Riku 4); - Sora's Final Battle; - Riku's Final Battle (against Ansem, I mean). So, any contributions for these fights will be rejected. However, any contributions for all the other battles will be gladly welcome! You see, lots of battles only have 1 strategy (mine!), so perhaps more strategies for them would be nice! =) 0. Introduction Playing as Sora: -------------------- Found in Traverse Town: 1. Contacts (If you are wondering, the numbers inside the () mean how many strategies there are for that specific boss battle) 0. Introduction Despite that your level doesn't matter much in this game, by levelling up you will be able to gain some extra things, like new moves or get more hp... So, if despite this you can't seem to win against a specific boss, try levelling up to get more SP or HP points, which are really useful for Sora! As for the HP values, when I say something like "(x-Y HP)" it means that its HP can change between those values, depending on the floor in which you are facing it! 1. Guard Armor (200 HP) The first boss battle you will find in the game, and it isn't a very difficult one as you can imagine. Just use your normal keyblade cards against the 5 weak points of this boss (which are his legs, his arms and his... well... the rest of this body!) and use Donald and Goofie as soon as you have a chance for it. The opponent only has an attack that may cause you trouble, but if you use a card with value 0 at the same time that he performs it, you won't have any trouble, as you will break his attack. Don't use the combo thing that you learned from Squall, as it will make your first card used in it disappear until the end of the battle, which isn't a very good idea... 1.1 Axel (320 HP) Despite of his looks, this guy is preety easy to beat. First, be sure to equip the Simba Summon card you got from Leon (Well, I would rather call him Squall Leonhart, but then fans from KH1 would flame me...) on your deck. Now, you will notice that the enemy is always disappearing, so start using your keyblade cards to try striking him, and also use Simba. Also, be sure NOT to use any combos, since you will need all your cards. Finally, and as you may imagine from his special attack (which turns out being not very strong...), he is weak against Ice, so be sure to use your ice card, but ONLY when he is recharging his card, or else he will just avoid it by disappearing. So, keep on striking him with your keyblade cards, Simba and Ice and eventually you will win! 2. Card Soldier (88-120 HP and 110-150 HP) Quite easy battle, I don't think you will need any help with this, but just use Simba and your attack cards and I bet that you will beat them in no time! They seem to be lots, but you can beat them easily, fear not! 2.1 Trickmaster (550-750 HP) Like the Guard Armor, this guy is pretty easy. Once again you won't need to use any combos, so just keep on attacking with your normal keyblade cards (if you have any new, higher level ones, be sure to equip them in your deck) and you will easily win. Also, use Simba, and if possible try collecting 3 Donald cards and use them as a combo, for an high extra damage to this boss. Sometimes he may break your cards, with some of his high level cards, but you can easily avoid his attacks, as most of them are just some Fire attacks thrown at you. 3. Cloud (275-375 HP) This is one of those battles that may turn out being somehow hard if you don't know what to do. Apart from his super hot combo (the one he uses by joining 3 high level cards with his face...) which hits you 3 times however you are, he isn't very strong... So, be sure to take some healing cards with you (2 or 3 are enough...) and heal when your health is below its medium value, but NEVER use combos, as you will need all the cards you can use. Oh, and you can remove Simba from your deck in this battle, as he won't be able to cause much damage (or any at all, but I can't be sure of that...). Finally, be sure to add the best cards you can to your deck before this battle, but also some cards with value "0", as you will need them to stop Cloud's combos... If you really can't manage defeating him, just keep on healing yourself until he can't perform more combos (because he would just have 2 cards left, or something...) and then attack him with everything you've got! 3.1 Hades (440-600 HP) This is surely the toughest battle that you faced up to now, so you will need to be very careful in this one. First, equip the best keyblade cards you have, then equip Simba and other summon cards (if you have any more, which I doubt...). some Cure cards (they are green and they have a leaf...) finally equip some cards with value 0, IN THIS SPECIFIC ORDER. I am not sure if you already noticed this or not, but the cards with value 0 can ALWAYS stop any combination of cards from your opponent. When Hades is about to use his best attacks, he will turn red. So, go the section of the deck in which you have your cards with value 0 and use one of them, which will instantly stop his attack. As soon as you don't have any card with a 0 left, be sure to shuffle your deck. After sucessefully stopping his attack, strike with Simba and with the best cards you have currently on your deck to cause him some damage. Be sure NOT to use any combos, since those will take some cards from your deck and you will surely need them later in this hard battle. If you can't seem to win despite my advice, try gaining some more levels in order to get more HP and SP points and be able to put more/better cards on your deck. There is also a small tip... You can use many ice cards instead of those of Cloud, since (and as you may imagine...) Hades attacks with fire element you can use the ice element against him, meaning that it will cause him great pain, mainly if you make combos using 2 or 3 consecutive ice cards... Strategy by Makiyu: " First organize you deck so it's like this... 3 blizzard cards ranked 5-9 1 rank 0 kingdom key card (or something with 0 that is a keyblade card) 3 blizzard cards ranked 5-9 1 rank 0 kingdom key card (or something with 0 that is a keyblade card) 3 blizzard cards ranked 5-9 1 rank 0 kingdom key card (or something with 0 that is a keyblade card) 3 blizzard cards ranked 5-9 1 rank 0 kingdom key card (or something with 0 that is a keyblade card) 3 blizzard cards ranked 5-9 1 rank 0 kingdom key card (or something with 0 that is a keyblade card) 3 blizzard cards ranked 5-9 1 rank 0 kingdom key card (or something with 0 that is a keyblade card) Seems repetitive right? If you don't have enough space for some of the cards, cut off the rank 0 kingdom card or 3 Blizzard cards since you need them in 3's. Now on to the boss battle! Use the 3 blizzard cards on Hades, then stock 3 blizzard cards and use Blizzaga on him when he is in range. Card reel the next card and stock the 3 blizzards again. WHen he uses a sleight, USE THE 0 CARD. He should die by the 3rd-5th blizzaga. ALways use the 3 blizzard card first before spamming the blizzaraga's so that you don't run out. Always run around and strike when he's reloading or when he's close to you. " 4. Parasite Cage (605-825 HP) Despite that this is a very easy battle, your best bet will be taking some healing cards and best keyblade cards you have. Since the poison really inflicts some damage, you need to stick to the platforms and only attack when you are near the enemy. Never use your summons, since the summoned thing may appear on the poison field and it will be instantly stopped. However, the combo of 3 Cloud cards can work good, but I doubt you have 3 of those by now. Despite that this boss' attacks can't make you much damage, use the healing cards as soon as needed for having an easier time. Finally, be sure to get the mickey card if you see any, since it will make you invulnerable to poison for a certain time, which can really help you make some extra damage to the boss. 4.1 Lots of weak hearthless (each with 36-50 HP) Appears that some people were having trouble with this, despite of this one being an easy battle... All you need to do is start killin them as soon as possible, and NEVER stopping... How can you do this? Don't use any magic, combos or summons (other than Cloud), so in a quick sum up... Just strike as much as you can you your keyblades and kill as many as possible, and if the bar gets red and starts flashing, that's because it is starting to go down, which means that you need to attack more of those monsters. When the bar get full and turns yellow, just kill all the enemies that are currently on screen, and that will finish the level... The keyword here is... FAST! 5. Oogie Boogie (550-750 HP) Most people seem to think that this is an hard battle. However, it is easier than people think. For this battle you just need to take as many Cloud cards are you can and as many cards with value 7, 8 or 9 as you can. You will notice that this boss only throws you some dice, and those are always activated by a level 7 card. So, when he throws the dice, use one of your cards with level 0, 8 or 9. This will make one of the three slots under the fence stop rolling, and once all three are stopped, then fence will go down. Then, you can enter the place where the boss his and attack him for a limited time. So, your best bet is using your Cloud cards on front of him as soon as you can, if possible using a combo of 3 Cloud cards, to get a special attack that will greatly damage him. One the fence returns to its place, shuffle your cards and repeat the entire process up to the point in which you finally get to defeat him. Possibly you will get at least 1 mickey card (looks like a green card shaped like Mickey's head) if you destroy a certain dice during this fight, so be sure to use it when all the three slots are ACTIVE, I mean, rolling! This will make the fence stay down for a longer time, giving you the oportunity to make some extra damage to this weak boss! Strategy by Kefka Krazy: " Against Oogie Boogie, I found that using this strategy made him ridiculously easy. As the person in the FAQ stated, use cards to break his dice attack and make the fence go down. However, to maximize the damage you deal to the Boogie-man, use the Card Soldier enemy card to pump up your swing speed. I didn't use this my first time, but the second time, I did. It makes all cards swing at about maximum speed... that's a lot of damage in a short time. " 6. Jafar (550-750 HP) As soon as this battle start, you will notice that the red genie is invulnerable to ANY of your attacks. So, how to defeat this giant monster? Well, you will notice that sometimes the 3 panels move and one of them will go high up. Make your way up there and you will spot Iago (Jafar's bird) holding the magical lamp. As you may imagine, your target is to hit him, and the best way is to always make your way up to the highest panel, jump and try to hit him at least 3 times with your best keyblade cards. DON'T USE COMBOS, as they would spend some of your cards and, if you are unlucky, this battle may take you a long time to finish. As before, I think your best bet will be taking a lot of keyblade cards and some healing ones, as Jafar has an attack in which he throws a huge stone at you, and as you may imagine that REALLY hurts! As for the mickey card, they seem to put all the 3 panels high, and then you can easily attack Iago, but as you may already know by now they are not that usual. If you are wondering about summon cards, Simba and Cloud may turn out to be somehow useful, the first one to be used whenever you want and the other one to be used it "eventually" you get a mickey card and you have the change of being near the bird. If you still having trouble with this, well... just be sure not to loose any of your healing cards (be sure to take 3 or 4 into this battle...) and keep on striking Iago, he will eventually die. Strategy by ApocAlypse212: " This battle is really easy but can take a long time. First off...just stack your deck with high Simba, Cloud Cards (if you didn't do Olympus Colosseum yet it's ok) and also High level Attack, Cure, and Potion Cards. Magic Cards won't be very useful considering the main enemy is flying so do not take them. His best attack is: he throws a meteor at you which to dodge stand in the middle of the three pillars so it cannot make it's way to you. His other attacks are simple. Your attack cards or summon cards will not hurt him, so do not even worry about Jafar. To beat him you have to defeat his bird which is flying around with the lamp in his claws. If he does not come lower a lot it turns into a LONG battle...but be patient. Do NOT combine your cards unless you are 100% sure you can hit the bird. Use your Simba cards to attack his parrot easily, but unfortunately it does not do much damage. Jaffar will keep attacking, so just use your Cure cards if you get low on hp. When you notice you are starting to run out of Attack Cards use your Potions. This Battle is actually very simple even though you would think a giant Genie would be harder, so just follow my strategy and it should work out, if it doesn't just add attack cards to your deck. Thanks for using my strategy if you did, and Good Luck! " 6.1 Larxene (1120 HP) Ok, another of those guys in black clothes, which you will have to defeat in order to gain access to more levels... However, it is quite easy to win this battle, just take 2 or 3 healing cards, Simba and Cloud. Now, use the same technique as I told you some battles before... Start by having the enemy use his combos (she has 2 or 3, if I recall...) so that she spends her cards on them, and then attack her with your best keyblades, Cloud and Simba... Be sure to heal if your health drops below his medium value... Sometimes she can send you some rays that will catch you and take you to her, but those don't seem to cause much damage, don't worry... Also, NO COMBOS this time (well, appears that I say this in every battle or something...), as you will need all the cards for attacking that you have... Hope you can win to her easily too, just like I did! =) 7. Dragon Maleficent (960-1140 HP) One of the worse things about this boss is that it spits some flames that sticks to the ground and can heavily damage you. Once again, your best bet would be using your best keyblade cards and lots of healing ones (once again, 3 or 4 cards will be enough...). Be sure to attack these flames on the ground sometimes, as they grant you mickey cards, which will create a platform in the middle of the screen, which makes it easier for you to hit the dragon's head (its weak point, if you were wondering about it...) and a big help to avoid other flames for some time. Except for this small detail I guess this is an easy battle, you will just need to avoid the flames (the dragon can bite you, but that doesn't cause you much damage...), heal when necessary and then strike with your best keyblade cards. However, DON'T USE COMBOS, since they are somehow a way to spend some cards, which you may need later. As for summon cards, I guess that only Simba will be of great help in this one, because it will be able to hit the dragon's face even if it is in a hard to defeat place! If you really can't seem to do it, try Dumbo too... Strategy by Tracy Smith: " If you've learned it, use Ragnarok. To get back your lost keys, pack a couple of Hi-Potions/Elixers and an Air Soldier (if you have one). The Air Soldier will guarantee that the Hi-Potion will go through, meaning that you'll get your keys back. To execute this, stock a Ragnarok, and wait for her to do something. Break her card (if possible), then aim by pressing up/down/left/right on the directional pad. You'll want to get it so that the center of the ball on Sora's key is about aligned with her head. Sora will let loose with a bunch of bolts, which will HURT. Heal as necessary. The battle should be over fairly quickly. " 7.1 Riku (1120 HP) Despite of what I heard about this character, this battle turns out being really easy you just need to use the same cards you used for the last boss and you will easily win, mainly by using lots and lots of keyblade attack. The opponent has some combos, but they aren't very powerful, so just attack him with every keyblade attack you can, heal from time to time and he will go down in no time. Just don't try using your summons, as he will break them or just avoid them... 8. Ursula (640-760 HP) Another easy battle, for this one you will just need to take your keyblade cards with value 7, 8, 9 and 0 (two will be enough)and some healing cards. As soon as the battle starts, attack one of the two central tentacles until it goes down. Then, start jumping and hitting the head 3 consecutive times (NOT USING A COMBO!) or more, if you have the time for it before the tentacle going up. Then keep on repeating for some time, until Ursula seems to move left (or right) and appear with the trident. Then, wait until she makes a weird noise and seems to send some rays at you, which you should stop by using your cards with value 0. Then, attack her tentacles and head again until you win. Also, be sure to avoid the bubbles that sometimes she uses, they don't cause much damage but they can get Sora confused, which isn't a very good idea, as you will have an harder time with your controls... If you find a Mickey Card use it right away, as it will send the tentacles away and lower Ursula's head for some time, giving you the chance to land some good blows. 8.1 Riku (1120 HP) This battle is almost as easy as the first one that you fought against this character. He has a new ability called "Dark Firaga", which doesn't seem to cause you much damage... So, just do exactly what you did in the last battle with him, and everything will go find... Oh, you don't want to scroll up just to read that stuff again? Ok, I will paste it here... " Despite of what I heard about this character, this battle turns out being really easy you just need to use the same cards you used for the last boss and you will easily win, mainly by using lots and lots of keyblade attack. The opponent has some combos, but they aren't very powerful, so just attack him with every keyblade attack you can, heal from time to time and he will go down in no time. Just don't try using your summons, as he will break them or just avoid them... " Good luck with it! ;-) 9. Captain Hook (640-760 HP) Truly, this may be the thoughest battle that you will face so far, that's why I chose this level in last place. Apart from having lots of high level cards, Hook can also throw some bombs at you, which will REALYYYYYYYYYYY damage you. Also, you will be fighting in his ship, which means that the entire scenario will be moving, making it hard for you to dodge some of his attacks (like the bombs!). So, I guess that your best best will be taking 3 healing cards, 3 or more Cloud Summon Cards and then put the best keyblade cards you currently have, on your deck. Now, the best idea is... Use the 3 Cloud Cards to make a combo, which should use a really good triple attack that will deal Hook a huge ammount of damage. Then, use the 2 Cloud cards that you still have ALONE, and only when you are at a distance from Hook that ensure you not to fail your attack. Finally, heal as necessary and continue striking with all the best keyblade cards you have. If you are still having problems, try adding some cards with value 0, in order to break his best attacks (yep, mainly the bombs...). Oh, and the ship you are in is always moving left and right, meaning that you will have an hard time avoiding the bombs! Strategy by CobraGT: " I was level 32 ... HP 155 ... CP 750 I did not have the greatest cards but I thought I could just as well fight Hook until I figured him out as opposed to getting better cards. Premium Simba 4, 6, 6 Ice 0 Cure 8 Premium Genie 1 Premium Cloud 4 Premium Ice 1 Kingdom Key 0 Ice 0 Ice 9 Cure 3 Stop 9 Stop 9 Simba 6 Genie 0 Cloud 7 Ether 0 Barrel Spider Most important is Sora's position on the battle stage. As you play your attack, have Hook in your sights so that the damage in centered on Hook. Next play your cards so that you trump Hook. What it really comes down to is jumping around while playing cards. " Strategy by Marinshaw: " Deck Focus: I found Hook to be very hard the first few times I lost to him because I noticed that he would have an "all 0" effect on at times, effectively screwing me over completely. Trying to create a new deck to adapt to this, I noticed that I had picked up the Pirate (Heartless-type) card, and its effect was All 0 for one reload. So, I finally beat him with this deck. The main focus is to immediately use the Pirate card and stock the rest of your deck with Cures and Keys only, being sure to throw in some 0 keys as well and have at least one Potion handy at the end. Deck (908 CP): Kingdom Key0,0 Three Wishes 0 Crabclaw 0 Fairy Harp 0 Olympia 0,0,0 Pirate (can be placed anywhere) Cure 7,7,7,6,6 Three Wishes 7 Pumpkin 7 Three Wishes 8 Olympia 8 Pumpkin 6 Three Wishes 6 Kingdom Key 8,8,8,7,6,7,6,5,6,6,6 Wishing Star 8,6 Crabclaw 9 Kingdom Key 6 Pumpkinhead 6 Kingdom Key 8 (Premium) Potion 7 Strategy: Immediately use Pirate, then just stay close to Hook and Card Break him whenever he tries to get off an attack. Only use combos (NOT sleights) when he is reloading. Dodge rolling a lot is recommended. " Strategy by Keon Lee: " Hey I have a boss strategy for "Captain Hook". Here it is. I was lvl 28, 275 HP, 593 CP when I beat Captain Hook. My deck was: Guard Armor Kingdom Key 6 Olympia 8 Fairy Harp 9 Wishing Star 6 Kingdom Key 9 Lady Luck 4 Blizzard 5 Blizzard 2 Simba 6 Cure 6 Fire 1 Fire 5 Fire 6 Olympia 7 Kingdom Key 7 Cloud 4 Kingdom Key 0 Cure 7 Stop 4 Wishing Star 6 Thunder 7 Kingdom Key 5 Fairy Harp 2 Pumpkinhead 2 Hi-Potion 3 Strategy: Wait to attack in the first few seconds. If he has an ability on, check which one it is. It could be all of his cards are 0(in which case you're probably screwed), random, or something else. When he uses his special, either run away to the other side of the screen or counter with a higher special. Otherwise, full on attack him. By the way, this was my 7th floor, above Halloween Town, Agrabah, Wonderland, Monstro, Olympus Coliseum, and Traverse Town. Watch out for his different specials, as he can shoot bombs at you, attack you about 20 times then hurl you up in the air, or a combination of both. To run away, dodge roll (tap left or right twice in succession) and attack as soon as you're behind him. Use magic and don't indulge your deck with summons. I suggest only using Barrel Spider, Simba and Peter Pan combinations. Use combos too, as they can counter Hook's if the number is higher. If you find yourself in low health (more then likely) use a Cure combo for Cura or Curaga. Use elemental combos as well, to give range. " Strategy by Tracy Smith: " THE hardest boss for me, hands down. Here's what I did to my deck: Curaga (25) 0 Tornado (with Cloud) 0 Tornado (with Cloud, if possible) (repeat the previous two lines as many times as you wish) Low-level Elixer Low-level Elixer Low-level Elixer Curaga (something above 20) Air Soldier The Air Soldier will make sure that your Elixers replenish your missing cards. Stock a Tornado, and wait for Captain Hook to do a SLEIGHT. Dodge roll until he decides to do one. If you can break his sleight with Tornado, then do so. Otherwise, use the 0 card, and THEN use Tornado. Tornado him to the other side of the screen. While he's stunned, stock another Tornado or a Curaga (if needed). One you're out of the Tornado/0 combo, activate the Air Soldier and use an Elixer. Repeat until Hook is defeated. " 9.1 Vexen (1120 HP) Another of those guys in black suit... Appears that each of them is specialized in a particular type of attack, and this one seems to use a lot of Ice attacks, so you know what to do, right? Well, you can just take this battle with the cards you usually use, but in order to have an easier time you should use lots of Fire cards (alone or in combos of 3) and some Cloud cards, apart from cards with value 0 (to stop his attacks, you don't need them but you want want a couple of them, to stop some of them...) and some healing cards, as usual. If you want to use your keyblade cards to attack him, be sure to attack him from behind, as his big shield is able to stop ALL the physic attacks used in his front. Also, if he freezes you (well, this is easily noticed, as Sora will "just", well, like... BE INSIDE OF A HUGE ICE BLOCK -_-'''' ), just keep pressing directions in the control pad and you will, after a while, make the ice block destroy itself and continue the battle. Again, be sure to take a LOT of Fire cards, as they will be your main way of attacking in this battle! Strategy by Kefka Krazy: " Poor old Vexen... he had me stumped until I found a way through that shield o'his. Stack the deck with Sonic Blade combos, any number of them is fine, just make sure you have about 8. Also take along at least 3 cure spells of decent level (for a Curaga that he'll have a hard time breaking). Finally, you'll want a couple Hi-Potions and maybe an Elixer. Sonic Blade the crap out of Vexy, you'll slam right through his shield and he will have almost no way of breaking it. Most of Vexen's sleights don't go high enough in points to break the 20-23 power level of a Sonic Blade, and he carries maybe 2 0-level cards in his entire deck. This works for both Vexens. One Sonic Blade should take off maybe a quarter or so of a life bar (if you continue Blading until the sleight ends), so you might even be able to take him down without using any Hi-Potions or Elixers. IMPORTANT: If you're going to use a Hi-potion or Elixer, make SURE you use it as part of a combo with your highest level attack or cure cards. This is to prevent Vexen from breaking your item card! " 10. Vexen (1120 HP) This is almost exactly the same battle that you fought before, so it will be rather easy. Despite that your opponent has some new powers (1 or 2...) that aren't very powerful, your best idea is just trying to avoid them and continue striking with lots of Fire attacks and Cloud cards, as in the previous battle. This time he will also have some cards that enable him to revive himself and win some HP when he is just about to die, but just keep on healing yourself (be sure NOT to use combos with the healing cards) and attacking him and eventually he will die...~ Strategy by Chumi: " ok, here it goes. First use a 3 cloud combo, then a cloud stop any attack card & and another cloud card. keep on dashing to dodge its attacks, then reload and use 3 cloud combo again, use some keyblades then reload. Now do the cloud, stop any attack card combo, reload and use cloud, reload again and use cloud again. You may also use keyblades but remember, keep dashing. Do that until you beat this guy. " 10.1 Riku (1120 HP) Strangely, this is exactly equal to the last battle that you fought against him. Personally, I took on him with exactly the same deck that I had used against Vexen, but you can use something else, as long as you take some Cloud cards (5 or more...), some healing ones (which, as before, shouldn't be used as a combo) and lots of keyblade cards for attacking. 11. Darkside (1920 HP) This is an easy battle, however it may become boring since you may take a long time to finish it. First, be sure to put on your deck the following things: 2 Cloud Cards, 3 healing cards, 3 cards with value 0 and the best keyblade cards as you can, in the biggest ammount you can. Now, what you have to do is... first, evaluate his pattern, as it is always almost the same. When he is using the attack in which he sends a huge energy ball to the air, break it with with your cards with value 0. When he puts his hand on the floor you can have a good time and attack it, if you use a Cloud card you will cause him more damage but if you take too much time you may not be able to attack him. Then, keep on attacking when he puts his hand on the floor or try to get a mickey card (I am not sure, but you may have more chances of getting one if you destroy those things that usually are seen flying across the scenario), which will create a flying platform that takes you exactly to the front of this huge monster's face. And after a long time, hope you can finally defeat him! =) Oh, but there are easier ways to defeat this giant monster... You can put some more extra Cloud cards, some healing cards and lots of Keyblade cards with value 7, 8 and 9. Now, use the Cloud cards ONLY in combos of 3, in order to get 3 powerful strikes on the monster's face. Then, use the keyblades to attack him "normally" (well, if there is anything normal about this giant monster...) on the hand (when possible) and on the face, healing when necessary. Keep on doing this for some time and *eventually* you will beat him. Not very hard, is it? Strategy by CyberTractor: " During the fight with Darkside, you get the trick cards if you kill the small heartless that appears when he slams his fist into the ground. It's easier to do this if you chain 2 Clouds together and stand right in front of the fist, killing both of the small heartless that appear. " Strategy by "that lazy Canadian guy": " Darkside strategy: This is, as mentioned, not a difficult fight at all - but why be bored, when you can soothe yourself into a relaxed state, and marvel at just how easy such a giant boss is... and get your ass kicked by Riku 30 seconds later. You need very few cards for this battle. I would say that, at most, you would need four 9 or 8 keyblades, five or six keyblades of your own choosing, ONE heal (not really necessary), and items of your choice if you're too lazy to reload. Darkside has four types of attack: - He fires energy balls at you. - He shoots said ball into the air, which creates many balls which fall on you. - He pounds the ground. - He turns his fist into a portal to some weird black universe. These, of course, are slightly embellished descriptions, but are close enough for your needs. I am not sure how Darkside begins his attacks, but you can rest assured that the pattern will always be one of the first two, followed by one of the next two, repeat. The thing about Darkside is, he almost NEVER uses a card higher than 8 - and he barely even uses those either. This is why you don't need any 0 cards, unless you are extremely insecure. It's quite simple to figure out what to do - if he raises his fist above the middle of the screen, stick to the far left, just in case he does the impact attack. Either way, his fist will be on/in the ground. At this point, you use the five or six choice keyblades to attack his hand. (NOTE: if he creates the vortex, a: do not bother with the heartless, you really don't need the trick card, and b: if you really want to, you can run up to him and attack his head, but there's not much of a difference.) I found it difficult to use a full six cards in the time where his hand is on/in the ground, so keep that in mind. Now, should he lean back, or darken the screen with some kind - ANY kind of energy ball - break it. That's all. Feel free to take this time to reload, because he gives you a lot of time here. Of course, sometimes you're stuck with no way to break the energy ball. Worry not, though - it's not too tough to dodge. If he's throwing them directly at you, then just run up and down and he'll NEVER hit you. If he does the orbital bombardment, then I suggest a random pattern of running, dodging and jumping, since they seem to have an uncanny guidance system. The only reason you might need a heal is in case you get hit by a few too many of these... but I'm sure you won't have too much trouble with it. You need only remember one thing when fighting Darkside... stick to the left. FAR left. And that's it! Have fun getting your ass kicked by Riku! " Strategy by Kefka Krazy: " There is one card that will make your life ridiculously easy. It seems (not sure, but I think it's true) that you do extra damage attacking the face rather than the arms. Well, that face is waaay too high to get at... right? Just pop a Wight Knight enemy card (the stringy, long-armed mummy Heartless from Halloween Town) and you can EASILY jump up and smack him in the face all you want. Stack your deck with some healing cards and a LOT of decent attack cards (W K lasts for 3 reloads, so you don't want to reload more than you have to). " 11.1 Riku (1680 HP) This time, some things have changed... First, he seems to have a lot more HP, plus now he has a new special attack, which "only" turns out being one of the best ones in this game... So, I guess you will need some more advices this time... Be sure to put lots of 7, 8 and 9 keyblade cards on your deck, some healing cards (3 or 4...), many Cloud cards (5 or 6, I would say) and finally some cards with value 0, all in this particular order. Now, use the same technique that you used against him before, I mean, strike with combos of 3 Cloud cards, lots and lots of strikes with your best keyblades and heal when necessary, I mean, whenever your health probs above its its medium value. Also, be sure to use your cards with value 0 to stop Riku's best move, which turns the entire screen black and causes you a lot of damage. Apart from this move and his increased health bar, just be sure to beat him as you did in the previous fights against him... Strategy by Shadow blade2: " Deck(Takes up 999 CP): Kingdom Key - 0 Kingdom Key - 0 Kingdom Key - 0 Kingdom Key - 0 Cloud - 6 Cloud - 4 Cloud - 2 Cloud - 5 Cloud - 7 Cloud - 2 Cloud - 4 Cloud - 3 Cloud - 4 Cloud - 2 Cloud - 2 Pumpkin Head - 9 Kingdom Key - 8 Lady Luck - 8 3 Wishes - 9 Cure - 7 Cure - 9 Divine Rose - 9 Olympia - 8 Potion - 8 Crabclaw - 8 Cure - 1 Cure - 1 Kingdom Key - 8 Cure - 3 Cure - 1 Cure - 9 Hi-Potion - 8 Vexen If you need a deck badly and can't think of one, this will totally kill Riku 4. Scroll past the four 0 cards at the beginning of the fight and use Vexen. Then use 3 Omnislashses(stock 3 Clouds and use them for each Omnislash), attack with the keyblades once you are out of Clouds, heal with Cura(Stock 2 Cures and any other card), and either use a Potion or re-shuffle. Then repeat. Whenever Riku does regular attacks like the "X-Slash" or the Jumping stab, just Dodge Roll behind him and execute whichever attack you want. You can also Dodge Roll past Dark Firaga. If he uses Dark Aura, press 'R' to switch to one of your saved 0 cards to negate it. If you have more CP than me, you can even add in higher # Cures or edit it any way you like. " Strategy by Dallas Robinson: " Basically you want to have a deck that's 1/3 zeros and high level cards (9,8,7). Place the cards in this pattern or as close as you can get to it: 0,9,8,0,9,8,0,9,8, etc, etc. Basically you want it so you can get a zero out at a moments notice so when Riku whips out a huge attack you can just break it with a conveniently placed 0 card! The best part is that everytime you break one of his stocks he looses a card permanentely so actually as the match goes on your actually making him (and all bosses) weaker. :-D The 0 card doesn't have to be an attack card just anything that is a zero. Also it also helps to have 1/3 of you deck as healing cards at the end of your deck. these cards are for STOCKING ONLY! Riku will easilly break them if used individually so you need to stock them to at least a value of 10. HOLD that "Curaga" until you have a clear chance to use it (usually after you have broken one of riku's stocked attacks) since it will take him a little while to build something that can break your "Curaga". So basically you just keep on attacking and healing and let your well placed zeros do all the work for you. I finshed him (and most of the game) off without using a single summon or cardstock (other then stocking healing cards). I hope this is useful to somebody " Strategy by Ragnarok: " My stats are - Lv.59 410HP 900CP Need a lot of 9, 8, and 7 and some 6-0 cards and hopefully their premiums. (If you want to save) My stats after fight with Riku - Lv.60 425HP 900CP " Strategy by ApocAlypse212: " This Battle is HARD if you do not do it right. First off, take 4 or 5 zero type cards of any kind, and lots of Cloud cards, no lower than 4, about 5 to 7 of them. Then you will need some high cards (7, 8, and 9).Then take high level healing cards (7, 8, and 9 of course) and if you don't low level ones will do. This is not necessary but if you need it take a couple potions or elixirs. BE SURE TO TAKE A VEXEN WITH YOU and use it at the beginning of the battle. If you still have enough card points after this, equip 2 Simbas and combine them for Proud Roar. Now for the strategy. His best attack (Dark Aura) will REALLY hurt you. That's why you must break it EVERY time with a 0 card. And to make it worse he has more HP! The Cloud cards will REALLY hurt him, and he likes to break cards so that's where the 7 8 and 9 comes in. His Dark Firaga will hurt a bit but it is easy to avoid, just go behind him. If you do happen to get hit by his Dark Aura combine 2 healing cards for cura and if you were really badly hurt use curaga. He also has other attacks, but they do little damage. Use your 7, 8, and 9 cards to break those and also combine them for Strike raid and Sonic Blade. Hope you liked my strategy if you used it and Good Luck! " 11.2 Larxene (1680 HP) Ok, appears that you will have to face this girl again... Personally I took on her with exactly the same deck that I had taken against Riku, but if you are having trouble, try adding some more Cloud cards to your deck. Now, use the keyblades to attack when you have the chance for it (be careful, since Larxene will sometimes break your cards), use the cards with value 0 to stop of her attacks (you don't need to use those in this battle, if you want just remove them and add some extra Cloud cards) and heal when necessary, and I believe that by now you already know what I mean by this... Strategy by NeoZanther: " Just for people who are having trouble getting a deck to beat her I'm willing to give my deck info out that I used to beat her :) My deck in this order: CP: 1022 4 "0 cards" Kingdom Key- 9 Kingdom Key- 9 Kingdom Key- 9 Wishing Star- 9 Wishing Star- 9 Wishing Star- 9 Pumpkinhead- 9 Pumpkinhead- 9 Pumpkinhead- 9 Lady Luck- 9 Lady Luck- 9 Lady Luck- 9 Lady Luck -8 Lady Luck- 8 Lady Luck- 8 Olympia- 9 Three Wishes- 9 Three Wishes- 9 Three Wishes- 9 Metal Chocobo- 9 Divine Rose- 9 6 any number Cure Cards (Try and get a total of 10 or more per slate.) Jafar Riku Vexen Note of Above Deck. Don't slate any attack cards unless you need to. That's the main reason for the Riku Card. Jafar is always useful if she manages to break your attack cards. Vexen is for resurve but if you use your cure cards one at a time (mainly while she's reloading or if you can break her current card) then you won't need Vexen. He's mainly for insurance. I beat her fairly easily with this deck. " 12. Axel (1680 HP) As before, he is weak against Ice attacks, so my strategy for this battle is somehow weird... Get lots of Ice cards, Cloud cards and healing cards, none of them in a premium fashion. Now, equip as many Ice cards as you can, then lots and lots of Cloud cards and finally some healing cards (as many as you want, but personally I took 4 high level cards), plus some keyblades with value 0 (I am not sure if you noticed this before, but in order for a deck to be completed to need to have at least one keyblade card on it!), in order to break one of his best attacks, in which he uses some fire balls that just go round and round around you and hit you several times, if you are not careful with it... And even if you are, maybe you will take 1 or 2 hits from it... So, now go into battle and use combos of 3 Ice Cards and combos of 3 Cloud Cards, always starting with the card with lower value that you have on your deck, since you will loose it when performing your combo. So, do this with both the Cloud cards and the ice cards, but be sure to heal when necessary... This is the easier way to defeat him, but there may be other ways, since most people don't seem to have the same good cards I have, your better chance is taking your best keyblades, as many Cloud cards as you can and lots (and I mean LOTS) of healing cards. Now, strike with combos of 3 Cloud cards and with as many single (DON'T USE COMBOS WITH THESE!) keyblades as you can, and heal every time it is possible, but try not to spend any healing cards on combos, as you will really need them. Using this technique you may face an hard and slow battle which may take a long time to complete, but eventually you will win... If you still are having trouble, try going back and levelling up, in order to put even better cards on your deck. Strategy by MzD: " Include 12-15 mid to high level keyblade cards ( 6-9), a few healing cards (Tinkerbell, Cure,Bambi,), some items (Megalixer,Potion,Ether) all of them being above 5, and about five 0 keyblades. As far as enemy cards that are useful, Oogie Booige, Malificent Dragon, Jafar, 2 Neo Shadows. Place the five 0 keyblades at the very beggining of your deck (you can skip over the 5 as soon as the battle starts, this allows you to have quick acess to them when you need to card break.) Next place all your remaining keyblade cards. Then your items, then your magic, with healing magic first, then summons. Finally, place Malificent first in enemy cards, then Jafar, then Oogie boogie, then the 2 neo shadows. At the start of the battle, after skipping the first five 0 cards, activate the Malificent Dragon card, this lets you hit for alot more damage. Pound away on Axel, pressing R to shuffle to the left to acess a 0 card when needed, (note, you should see his firewall move as a blessing, not an attack. If you are far enough away, you can use the slow moving wall as time to shuffle your deck.) As for the 2 balls, card break them if they are too close to you, but if you are far enough back, and U think you can make it, you can roll through them, to land beside Axel for a few hits. In doing all this, you will eventually get hit and have to heal, rather than stopping to heal, just use your Oogie Boogie card, to keep the fighting going. Once you have Axel down to about halfway to the green bar, use the Jafar card to really let loose on him, he wont be able to break any of your attacks. I reccomend placing the Tinkerbell and Bambi cards in a combo with a high level card of some sort, doing this because I had low level tinkerbell and Bambis, so he would always break them. So place a Tink, then a bambi, then a level 9 card of some sort. to get enough healing. Keep at it till you have Axel at 1/2 of his green bar, then for a helping hand, activate a Neo shadow card to tick away at his life, activate the other Neo Shadow when that runs out, and by this time you should have him done. " Strategy by sepyroth1: " Well with my strategy it is pretty easy (very easy). first equip 3 or more Cloud cards however many you like and a riku card. Make sure that when you fight Axel the 3 Cloud cards are 8 8 and 6. when you start the battle activate the Riku card you will be able to use a sleight 5 times and available to reload them. Then use cloud with the 8 8 & 6 when you are almost done with omnislash axel will knock off omnislash & guess what? when you reload you will still have the 8 8 and 6! guess what else?! you will not have wasted 1 single turn with riku's card!!!!!!!!!!! Keep repeating this and you will beat him without breaking a sweat!!! Don't forget to stock some cure's too. " Strategy by Dalton Folds: " Enemy cards required: Oogie Boogie, Pirate, Vexon, Shadow, Hook, and Barrel Spider. (feel free to add more) Abilities: Ragnarok, Ars Arcanum, Sonic Blade, Judgement, Omnislash, and Curaga. (feel free to use more) TIP: Try putting your cards in the order needed to use a sleight. I think it is a good idea to put Ragnarok first to quickuse it. Riku will usually start the fight off with a few normal combos. He will eventually unleash a Dark Firaga on you. Jump behind him when you see the sleight under his HP. Throughout the fight run around in non-stop circles around him to dodge his attacks. When your HP is at half, use the Oogie Boogie Card to start regaining HP. When used up, use Shadows and Barrel Spiders for a while. Use Pirate to counter attack Dark Aura and Vexen afterwards. Use Hook after Vexon to survive longer. After that continue running circles and attacking from the sides or the back. " Strategy by Kirbyfreek33: " This is one of THE most annoying bosses I have ever battled. I say just have at least this in your deck(any other cards for lots of damage ok) keyblade 9 heal 7 heal 7 (premium doesnt matter). Tinkerbell is also useful, but anyway...put all 3 of those cards in a combo(in that exact order), but only when the keyblade is the ONLY attack card you have left. This will take long if you didnt do any extra damage to start, but it works very well. When you put the keyblade card first, if it's your last attack card in your entire deck(all of the others unreloadable), none of the cards will disappear because only the attack card would disappear, but since its the last attack card in your deck, it won't disappear. Just keep reloading those cards and stabbin or slashin him to death. It took me 10 minutes to beat him because its slow going a few damage points at a time, but it works. It will slowly whittle away at his HP and then(after a looonngg wait if you didnt do earlier damage) kill him. Dont worry if he uses a 0 card, because you can just reload it again. I suggest you have 500-560(max in game) HP when you go against him. " 12.1 Marluxia Despite of what you could think, this turns out being a not very hard battle... Just do what I tell you and I bet you will have a lot more chances than you could think on first place! In the correct order (I mean, in the same order that I am telling you), put lots of keyblade cards with value 7, 8 and 9, lots of Cloud cards with high value (I mean, 7, 8 or 9), at least 4 healing cards (with high values, of course...) and then 4 or 5 of the cheapest cards with value 0 that you can find. Now, attack him with the keyblade cards of high value, with combinations of 3 Cloud cards (be sure not to let him break them, as he has combo cards of high value but sometimes he also uses cards wih value 0), use your cards with value 0 to stop his combo attacks and also be sure to heal yourself before it is too late. Also, be sure to be extremely careful with one of his normal attacks, in which he raises his scythe and quickly makes an attack with it, which seems to cause you more damage than most of the attacks he uses (yey, the screen is full of petals! ... so what? -_- ), and that can turn out being a problem. Apart from that, just keep on atttacking him with everything you've got, also healing yourself, and after some time you would have finished this batle... Strategy by Reverse Trutasha: " I can't remember what level I was at, but I had 1 1/2 health bars and over 1000 CP. The Deck I used was: ATTACK Kingdom Key (9) x11 Kingdom Key (8) x6 Kingdom Key (7) x4 Kingdom Key (0) x4 Cloud (8) x2 Cloud (6) Cure (9) Cure (7) x2 Megalixer (7) Riku Dragon Maleficent Neoshadow x2 My Strategy: As soon as the battle starts, activate Maleficient's enemy card and begin attacking Marluxia like crazy. If he uses his Deathscythe or Petal Dance, use a zero card. After your Maleficient card is spent you can activate one of the Neoshadows, but do this only after reloading. If you find your health running low, play Riku and use Curaga. After you play Riku, feel free to do an Omnislash if you like. Soon enough, Marluxia will die. A few tips: - When reloading, head to the side out of scythe range, or you may be damaged. - DO NOT waste zero cards or perform sleights (except for Curaga and Omnislash, with Riku in play). -Take advantage of time when Marluxia reloads; either reload, heal, or attack. " Strategy by Anna Neko-chan: " Just bring three or four "0" healing cards (this way, you BREAK his attack and HEAL your ass). Also, few "9" or "0" keyblades, to form Zantetsuken sleight. Early in battle, when he does any of his sleights, you throw this at him. Do this few times, and most of his deck is rendered useless!! all "9"s form of Zantetsuken is to be used to destroy any "0" card he can still use. Now all he has left is normal singles cards, which are damn weak! Once he strikes w/ his scythe, roll away and his back is wide open for 2-3 shots Also, since he can't use many of his cards anymore, he'll be reloading a lot - more openings to attack him. " 12.2 Final Battle So, you will be facing Marluxia on top of a giant robot, or something like that, I don't actually know what THAT is... Personally I took into this battle exactly the same cards that I had taken against Marluxia, but you can choose your own options, based on everything that you learned on all the battles up to now, but please to be sure to take at least 4 Cloud cards of value 7 or above (not 0, please!). Now, start by attacking the two arms of the robot until you destroy them. If he sends some some flying flowers at you, be sure to break the cards that appear, that will destroy one of the flowers. Once you destroyed the 2 arms, the real battle is just starting. He seems to use lots of different attacks, but your best bet is just staying "quiet" when you can't seem to attack Marluxia on top of the robot and then just break all the cards he uses against you, that's an easy task since he won't use any combos, and also be sure to attack Marluxia when you get the chance for it. Then, when you get the chance of jump on top of the robot, do it as soon as possible, and if Marluxia is looking at your side, be sure to be really next to him and use a SINGLE Cloud card, and keep on using them one by one until you are thrown out of the robot back into the ground. Now, keep on repeating all this until he dies, but be sure that heal ONLY when that action is sure to break one of his attacks. Eventually you will be able to finish the battle and watch the final sequence of the game! Strategy by loffter: " Have 9 0 attack cards, at least 15 normal cards 7+ , 4 healing cards 7+, and a 0 healing card. While he has his arms, use your numbered attack cards to hit the arms, while you collect goofy and donald cards, and use your 0s you break the pedal lasers if he uses them (they die instantly when you card break them). Wait on the arms till they die. when they are gone, he starts a very simple attack pattern. first, he will charge you. He can use this attack up to 5 consecutive times. DONT break it, let him do it, its a great chance to recharge your deck. Just listen for the whooshing sound it makes before he comes back onscreen, and roll through him. Then, he will have some things circling him. break out your 0s and you will get a 3 hit combo and break the attack while he is doing this. He will do it 3 times in a row. after the 3rd time, he sends out flower lasers. Either trinity limit, or attack them with your high level cards, don't get hit cause if you get hit by 1, you get hit by them all. once you destroy them, he will start charging his petal attack, use your 0 healing card to break it and heal. Then, he will atempt to crush you. Roll at the last second to avoid getting squished, and you will be ok. Finally, he will return to his normal position, then go to the opposite side of the screen. Now he does his rushing attack like i mentioned at the start. Listen for him and recharge your deck. this is the exact pattern he uses CONSTANTLY. It does not change! " Strategy by SybreTiger: " Marluxia's first form was the hardest battle of the game for me. I didn't beat him till my third try. But Marluxia's second form is easy. I didn't get hit a single time against him. His pattern is the same every time. He never even uses combos. Just bring in 20 (9) Keyblades, and break each of his attacks until you can hop on his ship, then slay him with single Cloud cards (don't use Sleights! don't use any for this whole battle), I had six of them, two 8s and three 9s. You'll know the point when you can hop on his ship, his pattern is basically like this: (Oops, I forgot about the two sword thingies you hafta destroy before he'll do the pattern I mentioned. But those are easy to destroy, just attack them with your Keyblades. Bring a Megalixir just in case. Not at all necessary though.) Attack 1: Some fireballs circle him and then turn into ground flying scythes. Attack 2: Same as above, OR Attack 3: He creates 3 Cherry Blossoms. Each of these will attack, unless you break them. Break each one of them as soon as it attacks, and it will disappear immediately. Repeat twice more. Attack 4: After you break his Cherry Blossoms, his ship rises to where you can't see his head. He'll try and plummet the point of his ship down on top of you. Break the attack before it lands. Attack 5: He'll plunge the point of his ship into the ground, creating a shockwave, similar to his first form's shockwave. Break it before it happens, as always. Attack 6: Repeat of attack 4 I believe. Attack 7: Immediately after attack 6, he'll swoop across to the other side of the screen (he won't damage you). Right after this, he'll try to do some attack, I've never seen it, so I dunno, but if you immediately break it, he'll lower his ship to the ground, where you can jump atop it, and slice him up with all your remaining keyblades, and/or Cloud cards. Roll against the wind. After you get blown off his ship, he'll repeat this entire pattern. I suggest, if you need to heal, do it during the three Cherry Blossom attacks. Have three 9 Cures, and use each one to break each Cherry Blossom, then RELOAD YOUR DECK, because you'll want your Cloud cards back for when you hop back on his ship. Doing this, I never got hit once, on my first try against his second form. Just remember to break every single one of his attacks, as soon as you see his card fly to the middle of the screen, indicating he's used it. Don't bother using 0 cards, as he'll never use combos, and your 9 cards are good enough to take out any card he has. And don't ever attack him unless you're on top of his ship. It's too hard to hit him otherwise anyway, because if you do even manage to jump and hit him, you'll only get one hit in, cause he seems to go invisible or something. " Strategy by SpikeRosered: " Start off by focusing on the swords on the front of the mech, avoid or card break his attacks whilst doing so until they are both destroyed. (Trinity Limit works good to cut their HP bars in half) After his swords are gone Marluxia will just attempt single attack after single attack. Though there is a simple trick I used to avoid almost getting any damage whilst slowing nicking away at his health: Every time Marluxia attempts an attack on you, card break it and he will be open for at least 2 keyblade strikes. Basically that is what you should continue doing throughout the entire battle. Even when he throwing the laser shooting flower petals, wait till they are about to attack then card break them. There are 2 exceptions to this strategy though: 1. When he attempts to slam down on top of you creating an earthquake, don't bother card breaking this, just jump and you will avoid the attack. 2. When he attempts to slam you with his body, and you are able to jump up on top of him this is the best opportunity to do him damage. While up there he will turn around whilst throwing out 3 petal laser things. Try your best to ignore the petal guns, for as long as they are alive you are able to stay on top of his mech (He's always vunerable when you're on his mech so you can just wail away at him) The only thing you have to worry about his the wind which will atempt to push you away from Marluxia's weak point. If you destroy all three petal guns it will become impossible to stay up there and you'll be blown off. After that point just repeat the steps I have previously, and slowly, very slowly but surely you will have Marluxia defeated whilst taking minimal damage. Make sure to have lots of cures and level 0 and 9 attack cards in your deck. Those are all that really matter since summon cards will probably miss as well as sleights. (at least in my experience) Make sure to have those cures though, since he likes to shoot lasers at you while you are recharging your deck, and nevermind your sure to make plenty of mistakes whilst attempting to avoid and/or card break his attacks. " Strategy by PArasiteOfEvolution: " This strategy will make The final battle the easiest battle ever. Pack your deck with Attack cards(red cards) doesnt matter which. Put it in this order: 0 - [any number] - [any number] Repeat until you have about 200cp left. Put 3 cures and 1 mega-ether (optional). When you battle with Marluxia pt2 attack the two swords below him with all your might. No strategy there. When he attacks use a 0 card. Reload when you don't have any 0 cards left, but if you have 9 cards you may choose to continue beating on the swords. When the swords are gone, reload. Wait until he attacks then card break him with your zero card, then jump up and strike twice only. Remember *TWICE ONLY* this makes it so that the next card you have will be a 0 card. repeat. Every time you card break him, he is left vulnerable and you are able to strike him. When he flies up just dodge his attacks or card break him. When he does his charge towards you, the one when card breaked allows you get on his ship, do go ahead and card break him and get on his ship. Reload while the ship is still rising, then do dodge-rolls toward Marluxia and strike him with your keys. When you feel that you need to heal, do so. This is the only time you should be getting hit, since you would be card-breaking most of his attacks. When you heal, jump off his ship and stock your cures,if you have a mega-ether, but if you dont use them individually. Also everytime you fall of the ship Reload you deck, marluxia wouldnt be able to attack you as he takes time to get back down. Summary of strategy: Card break Marluxia then strike twice. " Strategy by Keon Lee: " I beat Marluxia at I believe lvl 63. First part was easy. Take the arms off by attacking. Simply put. Card break attacks or dodge. The petals that shoot at you can be dodged by Dodge Roll and the petals that are shot at you can be dodged by going up and down. When you take its arms off, the battle becomes confusing. It will raise above you so you can only see the bottom point. It will attempt to stab you three times, with time breaks in between. Either jump or Card Break. If you Card Break the last one, you will be able to attack its head for about 3 seconds. He will fly to the other side of the screen, where he will lunge at you. Card Break him and you will be on him. Start attacking and he will face you so he takes damage. Three petals will be shooting at you, and if you stand still you will fall off because of the speed. As you attack, you will notice that it gets faster and you can't stay on, so fall off. Before he attacks you again with the petals that are shot at you heal yourself with Cure(a(ga)), whichever you need. Then dodge or Card Break to attack. He will try to attack you with this attack three times, if you Card Break him. Then he unleashes the petals to shoot at you. Card Break each time and attack him until all three are gone. Then repeat until he dies. Note: As he loses health, attacks are faster and give less time to think or react. So to make it easy, simple steps: 1. Attack its arms to take them off 2. Dodge its Petal Orbs 3. Card Break when he attacks with Cherry Blossoms 4. Attack 5. Jump or Card Break to dodge crashing attack 6. When he flys across the screen, Card Break to get on him 7. Attack as much as you can before you get knocked down (Cloud is recommended) 8. Repeat 2-7 as necessary. 9. Note: You can Card Break him anytime to attack for 3 seconds. (P)= Premium Card (PP)= 2, etc. The deck I use is: 1108 CP Kingdom Key 9 9 (PP) Diamond Dust 8 7 Ultima Weapon 5 5 Three Wishes 9 9 Fairy Harp 7 9 (PP) One-Winged Angel 4 3 Aero 8 8 7 Cloud 4 4 4 (P) Divine Rose 9 7 (PP) Pumpkinhead 7 6 Oblivion 9 (P) Lionheart 9 Olympia 8 8 (P) Spellbinder 9 Cure 8 8 7 Mushu 3 7 (P) Riku Vexen Neoshadow Oogie Boogie If you want, you can get the cards in this deck to beat Marluxia, and I beat him in about 3 minutes. The one I originally used now really sucks. I don't suggest too many magic cards in this battle except for Cure, Aero and Thunder. You don't need an item card. " Now, if you did i up to here you would have unlocked a new option in the main menu, which will enable you to play as Riku. 13. Dragon Maleficent There is not much you can do in this battle... Be sure to enter the battle completely healed, and just jump as much as you can and try hitting the enemy in its head, while using your attacks to destroy those green flames that sometimes are created by her. This will sometimes grant you one of those green mickey cards, which creates a platform that may be somehow useful to you. Keep on hitting her and eventually you will win! 13.1 Ansem Once again, there isn't much thing to do in this battle. Just hit him with everything you have got (don't use combos against him, never do that when you are playing with the "normal" Riku) and eventually you will win... Try to avoid his special attack (performed with 3 combo cards), since it won't damage you a lot but it can make you sad... Hope you can beat him easily, as there isn't much choice here... 14. Guard Armor Another easy battle, just start by attacking his 2 legs, then the 2 arms and finally the rest of his body. If you want, use a combination of 3 Mickey cards (from now on, when I say this, it means the cards you get on the field, not the green ones you usually got before!) which will cause him a lot of damage and greatly heal you. Apart from that, attack as much as you can and heal with Mickey cards! If you manage to get any of the green ones, use them to instantly attack his head for some time! 15. Parasite Cage Unlike you did with Sora, ignore the platforms and stay really in front of the enemy. Now, give him everything you've got, but be sure to get all the Mickey cards that appear in the screen, and use them to heal yourself (one by one or in combos of 3) when necessary. Keep on striking and eventually you will win this battle, but you can also use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card (press SELECT in battle and then use it using A), which will increase the power of your attack cards. 15.1 Vexen As in the battles against Sora, he seems to be using a large shield, which nullifies all the physical attacks that you use in front of him, so use the Dragon Maleficent's enemy card and always strike him from behind, but only when he is stopped or you will have an hard time hitting him. Keep on doing that, avoiding (or breaking) is attacks when he performs a combo, healing with Mickey cards and attacking him once possible. If Riku goes into Dark Mode (I mean, your character will get some black clothes) and strike faster, be use to perform a combo of 3 cards with value 9, which will activate the Dark Aura special attack, which surely causes your enemy an huge ammount of damage. But BE CAREFUL since this attack can only be used on dark mode! 16. Captain Hook Unlike the time in which you faced him with Sora, this battle turns now to be a lot easier. As soon as possible, use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card, and then attack him with everything you've got, never using combos or stuff like that. If he seems to use the bomb combo, use a card with value 0 to break it, and it won't cause you more trouble. Also, and as usual, use the Mickey cards to heal when necessary, and I bet you won't have any trouble this time... Strategy by samurai black: " You can just avoid him and his attacks until he uses the Pirate Heartless card which turns all his cards into 0 values. Then all you have to do is break his attacks until you turn into Dark Riku. The increased strength and enhanced dodging ability makes him real easy. " 17. Jafar Easy battle, just try going all the times to the higher platform, jump and try always striking Iago 3 times before falling. Just ignore the big red Genie, since he is invulnerable as before, as strike like I told you, and be sure to get any green mickey card to have all the platforms go up, and use the Mickey cards to heal yourself. Keep on striking and eventually you will win this easy battle... 17.1 Riku Hum? You are fighting yourself? o_O Well, guess you will understand later on what is happening here... As soon as you enter the battle, be sure to use Jafar's enemy card (which will make your cards unbreakeable for 20 attacks) and give him everything you've got until that card wears off. Then, use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card and keep on striking, and eventually you will get into Dark mode. There, use your "Dark Aura" (yep, that special combo attack that takes 3 cards with value 9 to perform) and by that time he should be already defeated. ;-) If not, just keep on striking him for more damage, as usual! 18. Oogie Boogie This time, just use cards with value 7, 8 or 9 to break his cards and stop one of the slots, once all three are down, you will get a chance to join him in the platform and give him some serious damage, so at that point use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card and strike him as much and as fast as possible. Keep on repeating until he dies, but if you don't seem to have any card with value 7,8 or 9, just reload your deck until you have one! Good luck, I just hope you don't need any help in this one since it is really easy... 19. Hades Once again he may turn out being an hard battle, if you don't know how to face him... First, use the cards with value 0 to break his combos, until you reach Dark mode. Now, use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card and keep on attacking him with your normal keyblade attacks. Strangely, each time you use in sucession it will, at the third hit, perform a more powerful attack that really damages Hades, so be sure to keep on hitting him. If you are taken back to your normal mode, break more of his combos until you go to Dark Mode again and repeat until he is defeated. Also, you can use your "Dark Break" in dark mode, if you make a combo which total card value vary between 5 and 15 or, even better, use your "Dark Aura", but for that you will need three cards with value 9, and maybe you don't have them now... Strategy by Charles_earvin: " There is really a simpler way to beat him. First of all you want to enter darkmode then after you enter darkmode use the power wild enemy card which would cause all your cards to reverse values meaning all your one value cards now become 9 cards so use DARK AURA all you WANT and trash him up. Simple simple strategy ! " 20. Trickmaster Really easy battle, just attack him with everything you've got and he will easily die. I even doubt that you will need to use your Dark mode, since just attacking him with your normal attacks and healing with the Mickey card will be more than enough to beat him! 21. Ursula If you are low in health (like I was), be sure to use the Oogie Boogie enemy card as soon as the battle starts, since it will constantly heal you for 10 seconds, time in which you should just hang around and dodge her attacks. Now, every time she uses the bubble attack be sure to avoid it, as you did with Sora, since it will cause Riku to stay confused for a while, which is really bad for you. Then, use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card and strike one of her middle tentacles, until she lowers it, and then jump and strike her head. If you ever go into Dark mode, use it wisely for an even easier way of defeating her. Just keep on repeating what I said, healing with Mickey Cards when needed and using the green mickey card if you get any (it will lower Ursula's head up to the ground, so that you have an easier time hitting her) as soon as possible. 21.1 Lexaeus Oh my god, he has a giant weapon! He is really strong! But... this is a really easy battle! Like, he will mainly use combos, so be sure to break them with a card with value 0, until you enter Dark mode. Now, just use the "Dark Aura" move (yep, the one that takes three cards with value 9) and it will cause your opponent and incredible ammount of damage. If he seems to break that attack with a 0 card, just keep on repeating it (I mean, using "Dark Aura" more times) and eventually you will win to him. However, if you don't have more cards to perform "Dark Aura" with, just reload your deck and attack him, in Dark mode, as the third strike will greatly damage him, like what happened to a certain boss that you faced before. But I must tell you of something... never try battling him in your normal mode, since he would just kick you really hard... Your only chance here is really going into dark mode, or else you can't really beat him, unless you cheat... Strategy by Chumi: " ok this is an easy boss, with this strategy it will be a piece of cake: Just use combos to destroy his cards, not to attack (preferably not 9), then when you enter dark mode, use dark aura and you will kill about 1 life bar. Do that again until you have no more 9`s. Then use any sleight and try to dodge with the dodge command and use your normal attacks but always reserve a 0 card for his sleights. When he uses one, destroy it fast. It will be an easy task " 22. Darkside Here, the only problem is that you can't heal yourself, as Mickey seems not to be in your party anymore. Start by breaking the enemy's attacks, until you reach your Dark Mode. Now, you can just stay there, breaking his attacks and attacking his face when possible, or you can also use "Dark Break" attack (which is performed by a combo of 3 cards whose total value would be between 5 and 15), but be sure only to use it when he isn't about to disappear, or else you will miss the attack. Keep on doing that, but be sure to always break the attack in which he sends some energy balls into the air, as it can really damage you! Also, the best time for striking is when he puts his hand in the ground, since the 3 attacks you use from Dark mode can cause him some good damage. Apart from that, just continue breaking the attack I told you, attack when possible and eventually he will die! 23. Riku First, be sure to enter in this battle with your HP bars full. This time you will have to face him in a improved way, I mean, he will now have exactly all the power that you have on your Dark mode. Start by breaking some of his attacks (and the really careful, since you will REALLY need to break his "Dark Aura" or you will be in big trouble) until you reach your own Dark mode. Then, try seeing if you have cards for performing your own "Dark Aura", and if you don't, you may be in some problems... First, use Jafar's enemy card, and then You can just strike him without stopping, or you can combine your cards to use a "Dark Break". However, be sure to remember that you can't heal yourself, so you will have to strike as much and as fast as possible, or you will be in big trouble. If you really can't seem to beat him, level up and try getting more attack points, since that way you will be able to cause him more damage! Strategy by dragonblade3325: " This stategy breaks the "don't use sleights" one, and is also a way to avoid the somewhat indirect cheating of the Jafar card. It makes the battle easier in the long run, but requires extremly good card stocking and manuevering skills. All you do is keep using stocks with the first card being something low (particularly less than 7 or 8 and of course don't give up any 0's) so that those cards are lost; you can use those sleights or stocks to hit him potentially as well. Stop doing that when you end with about 5 or 6 (something like that) good cards. Now all you have to do is continuously attack; reload time will be about 2 seconds (if you hit him with your last card you should be able to reload before he attacks again). Also, you'll basically never leave dark mode thus boosting your attacks (if you do it should take just a few seconds to get back in). It's really is an obvious strategy, maybe longer, but you shouldn't have to worry about your HP as much as you do after the Jafar card effects wear off. " Strategy by Athrun 2nd: " Study the deck before hand, learn were the holy 0 cards are, use those 0 cards to "dark mode" at the start from his sleights, dark aura, dark firaga, beat him till at the end of your real of cards. when at 50% health or lower, use the Oogie Boogie card & run around with a 0 card up. " Strategy by DrKArcher2778: " There's a wonderful trick to this fight. His enemy card is Sleight Lock, meaning the first card of his sleight isn't destroyed when he used it. How do you put this to use? Darkside's Enemy Card copies it, meaning those 3 9s will last you long enough for 6, count 'em 6, Dark Auras. Just reload after each Dark Aura. Just break his normal cards and Sleights until you go into Dark Mode, immediatly throw Darkside up, then start spamming Dark Aura. After you finish using all 6 Auras, if he's not dead, just hit him with Dark Firagas, Dark Breaks, or normal attacks enhanced with Dragon Maleficent. He should go down with no trouble. " 24. Ansem This is the final battle, and be sure to enter it with a full HP bar or you will be in big trouble. This surely gonna be the thoughest battle that you will face in this game, so please only face it when you are really ready for it. Personally I only fought him at level 94, but perhaps YOU can do better than myself. First, Mickey is back, meaning that you will be able to use him in the battle for healing yourself. However, that won't surely be enough for this amazing opponent. As soon as the battle begins, be ready to break ALL of his combos, as they are truly deadly. When you enter Dark mode, use Dragon Maleficent's enemy card and strike him with everything you've got, and in a non-stop way. If he seems to perform another combo, be careful and quick break his combo, ALWAYS using cards with value 0, not your own combos. I don't think it is a very good idea for you to use your "Dark Aura", since he can break it or avoid it by putting his hearthless in his front, which completly blocks the damage of an attack. Personally, I thought that the best chance for causing damage to him was just striking him in Dark mode, mainly because of the extra damage given by the third strike... However, you will notice that most of the times he just puts the hearthless in front of him, preventing any damage, so you must just keep on striking and eventually it will go away, and at that moment you will be able to damage him. When you need to heal yourself, always do it with a combo, mainly of 3 Mickey cards (if you have them at that moment) which will completly heal you, or only using 2 Mickey cards plus a normal card, but be sure to pick a card with an high value. If, despite all this you can't really seem to defeat him, just go fight some more enemies and get more level ups, since this is going to be the toughest battle in the entire game and you will surely need all the help that you can get! Strategy by RitzBitsCrackerz: " Ok here is a really easy was to defeat Ansem. Stand on the side of the screen and whenever he attacks, block with a normal attack card or a 0 card. Just continue this even into dark mode. Don't try to continue attacking or you will just get a card break and become wide open to attacks. Just keep chipping him down and if you get low on life, just use a combo of mickey cards and attack cards(starting with mickey cards so you dont loose attack cards). You might think this method is cheap and lame but it works =) " Strategy by PersonaFantasy: " Usually, you're given a pre-set deck of cards Riku can use for that particular area (Depending on the original difficulty of the area according to KH for PS2. Hopefully, at the last area where you face Ansem, you should have two dozen 6-9 cards, and about maybe three or four 0 cards. That's all you really need. Right from the start, counter him card for card (He plays a card, you break it, repeat). If you continue this for a few rounds you'll enter dark mode (He'll usually take this time to activate a sleight) immediately follow up with a 0 to break the combo and repeat the process you did from the start of the match (He plays, you break) until you're left with either weak cards or 0s. If you've got 0s left, just wait until he uses a sleight and break it. Once he starts reloading his deck, reload yours and attack with a three card combo. (He should still be reloading because he has about 50-60 cards in his deck) If he manages to get some lucky shots on you (Breaking your cards, or the card you played to break him wasn't strong enough), stock Mickey cards and either wait until he reloads to use them or pray he doesn't break your stock. Repeat this process until he falls. I beat him at lvl 51, but it was a CLOSE match (I killed him with a 0 counter, but he was able to land a sleight on me, which left me with about 10 HP or so. The bar was literally just a tiny slice of green next to the character mug-shot). " Strategy by Athrun 2nd: " Get a good feel for the deck, got to dark mode as soon as possible, use dark aura twice, then use dark firaga....a lot, that should weaken him (and your deck) to the point were dark break (which is what you should get if you've been jamming on the shoulder buttons the whole time) should finish him off. If health is low, again, Oogie Boogie for the regen effect. I never once used a "the king" card in this fight (because Ansem always broke them...) but you may have more luck with it, healing is always good. " Strategy by Wyguy16: " This is an hard battle, well a very hard battle, so hard that it may make you crush your gameboy in rage. I did this at level 50 and slid by I suggest that you do it at 60. First, when the battle starts use the dragon card. After that, combo him till you get dark mode. Once you do that, run far away and start spamming dark firega like mad. This way you hurt him a lot from a range without geting hurt much. Use Oogie when you get mid green hp. Took me a ton of trys but if you have low Str it may be the best chance you got. One last thing.. Never use Dark aura its a waste. Sorry if this does not work but it is what I used to finish this guy off once and for all. " Strategy by Rayne: " Okay, this boss is easy... sorta... i was level 40 when i beat him. Make sure you have AT LEAST! 30 dp (Dark Points). What you do is simple. Your deck should be full of several 0 cards, situated directly behind your reload card (the black one). You should also have at least 24 AP (attack Points) or else you are hopelessly screwed. So what you do to start, is break all of his cards with a high attack (6-9) and only use your 0's on his sleights, which can deal a vicious amount of dammage. Break his cards until you get to Dark Riku mode. Now, use the Dragon Maleficient card, and beat the living crap out of him, with three hit combos, and use the occasionnal Dark Firaga (only one or two. This will stun him, and give you time to damage him without his Heartless in the way. But, the three hit combo also stuns him and does more dammage.) the second you leave dark mode, reload your deck instantly. Now, do the same thing as before. If you are low on health, use a sleight of mickey. NEVER USE ONE ON ITS OWN, FOR ANSEM WILL BREAK IT! if you get too low, use REGEN (Oogie Boogie's card) and if all else fails, you need to use Second Chance (Captain Hook) and use as many combos as possible, so you can get some King Cards. If you only have two Kings (Mickey Mouse) use two of them, with a 9 attack card at the end. If both you and Ansem are low on health, may i suggest you equip Berserk (Hades) and attempt to beat the crap out of ansem. This is an easy boss, if you know what you are doing, and i hope that i can help :) " Strategy by Dan Stuart: " You said Ansem is really hard, but if you know a simple trick, you can beat him easily. Simply go into dark mode, and put on maleficant. tap the b button twice, and Riku will warp over to ansem. As he flies over to ansem, hit a, and Riku will slash downwards, keep doing this as quickly as you can and you should be able to beat him no problem. " Strategy by Kharan Knight: " Ok I just beat ansem at level 44 with 350 life 40 DP and 19 AP. Here's what you do. At the beginning of the fight scroll through your enemy cards and go to Jafar, then switch back to your normal attack cards. Try to break all of Ansem's attacks with normal cards. If Ansem does a sleight break it with a 0. Never use your own sleights in this battle Unless they are Mickey cards. When you reach dark mode Ansem will likely take this opportunity to perform a sleight so break it with another 0. Now use that Jafar card you have set up and ready. Just keep sending attack after attack at him till your Jafar and dark mode both run out. Around this time you should start to get to somewhat low life so use Oogie Boogie and while you are regenerating continue to break ansems attacks. When your Oogie Boogie wears off use Ursula to reduce the damage you take. Around this time you'll probably be switching into dark mode again. Just keep throwing attacks and countering sleights with 0's till you are no longer in Dark Mode. By this time you should have accumulated three Mickey's so dodge and counter for a while until you see that Ansem either reloads his deck or if you are feeling brave just wait until he doesn't have a sleight prepared and then use the three Mickey's in a sleight to heal yourself to full. Go into Dark mode again and use Dragon Maleficent. As usual just pummel Ansem with attacks. By the time Dragon Maleficent wears off Ansem should be dead or close to it. Just keep sending attacks at him till you have it. You win!! " Strategy by Keon Lee: " I don't believe it... When I was reading the guide the people had to be level 60... I beat him at 39. Here's what you do. When you enter the battle, press R twice immediately. It's to get to your stack of 0 cards to Card Break him. When he uses a card, Card Break him. When you get over 30, you'll go into Dark Mode, but he'll stop you from doing the backflip thing. Dodge Roll, or Jump to the other side as your deck reshuffles. After that just press A as your life depends on it. If he uses a sleight, go to your 0 cards at the end of the deck to Card Break him. When you go out of Dark Mode, repeat strategy above. Don't have too many The King cards, or it'll take you a while to get to your 0 cards. When he shuffles his deck, either attack him if your health is high, or heal using The King. First time when your health goes down below 1/2 bar, heal with Oogie Boogie. I didn't have to touch the L and R buttons at the same time. I beat him with 1 1/4 bars of health. Then again, that's almost whole since I only have 1 1/3. 560 HP, 18 AP, 32 DP. If you can't hit him, meaning that his Guardian is blocking it, press B twice quickly to jump to the other side, where you can continue your onslaught.Note: When you're shuffling your deck as Riku for your 0 cards, Ansem uses two attacks. If he says "Submit!" then jump towards him about a 1/2 second after he says it. If the screen goes dark, jump to the other side of him immediately, as he shoots a beam type attack forward. " B_END.
