1. Walkthrough
==============================================================================

Quickly name your characters, give them a class, and proceeded.

*-*The Ancient Prophecy*-*

The world lays shrouded in darkness

The winds die
The seas rage
The earth decays

But the people believe in an ancient prophecy.
And the patiently await its fulfillment

"When darkness veils the world, four Warriors of Light shall come"

And after a long journey the four warriors did appear
And in each of their hands was a crystal

*-*Rescuing the Princess*-*

Now that you have control of your characters we can begin. See that village
with the castle? That is Cornelia, go into the town.

-Cornelia-

This has some great chap things to get! The INN is only 30 gill which will
fully restore all HP! In the weapons store immediately sell your Monks
Nunchaku (if you have a Monk.) Buy Rapiers for any Warriors, Thieves or Red
Mages you have, a Knife for your Black Mage, and a Hammer for a White Mage,
sell items you un-equip. Than go to the armor store. Buy Leather Armor for a
Thieves and Monks. Buy Chain Mail for Warriors and Red Mages, sell Cloths that
you un-equip.

Now its time to buy some magic! If you have a Black Mage buy Fire, Thunder and
Sleep but I wouldn't recommend it. For a White Mage get Cure and Dia, plus
Protect if you want it. For a Red Mage get Fire, Thunder and Cure.

With your magic obtained go right to the item store and get one sleeping bag.
Talk to any guard and he'll take you to the king. The king says that his
daughter Sarah was taken by a former Knight named Garland. He says if you save
Sarah he will re-build the bridge for you. Go south and leave the castle.

CHECK LIST! (* = optional)

Class: Weapon, Armor, Lv1 Spells

Warrior: Rapier, Chain Mail, N/A
Thief: Rapier, Leather Armor, N/A
Monk: none, Leather Armor, N/A
Red Mage: Rapier, Chain Mail, Fire(blk), Thunder(blk), Cure(white)
White Mage: Hammer, Cloths, Cure, Dia, Protect*
Black Mage: Staff, Cloths, Fire, Thunder, Sleep*

Items

Sleeping Bag x1

-World Map-

Got everything? Good, let's go save us a princess! You will leave Cornelia; go
north along the west cost. You fight goblins and wolves, no problem.
Eventually you will pass a cave, that's the Earthgift Shrine, but it's no use
now. Continue north, now you will fight goblin guards and crazy horses in
addition to the others. Conserve your MP and head north until you get to a
run-down building, it is the Chaos Shrine. Use the sleeping bag to heal your
HP if you need to, than save and go in.

-Chaos Shrine-

Dam this place is a dump! Well anyway go left and you'll find a small room, it
contains a Leather Cap! Give it to a Mage, probably your Black. Oh and I
forgot but your people in order by HP and Defense, that way ones with lower HP
and Defense wont get hit if they're at the bottom. That's all you really need
here. Go back towered the entrance.

Remember, Zombies, Skeletons, and ect. are weak agenst Dia. Anyway from the
entrance go north into a small room. Talk to the man and instigate a Boss
Battle!

--------------
BOSS: Garland
--------------
HP: 212
Gil: 250
EXP: 130
Drops: Longsword!!!(rare)
Title: "Finest Swordsmen in all of Cornelia"

Well Garland looks viscous and mean but he is a pushover. Just attack with
everyone, cast Black Magic spells and heal when needed. Eventually Garland
will "die", he may drop the Longsword. If he doesn't you can soft-reset and
try again, or just continue. If he does drop it give it to your Warrior, if
you don't have one than the Red Mage.

Wow what an easy battle! Talk to Sarah and she will thank you. Automatically
you will leave the Chaos Shrine and end up back in Cornelia.

-Cornelia-

The king will now thank you, and there will be a cut-scene where the bridge
gets re-built. The king will tell you the rest of the prophecy, listen than
leave. But Sarah will stop you and give you the Key Item Lute. Now you can
leave Cornelia. Before you do so buy any items or spells you wanted to get,
Antidotes and Phoenix Downs are recommended. Heal in the INN and leave.

-World Map-

Phew that was hard worknot! Well anyway go north of the castle and step for
onto the drawbridge. This opens and true introduction to the game. When its
over step foot onto the northern continent.

*-*Curse of the Prince*-*

-World Map-

Yeah so lets begin this adventure shall we? Head north between the mountains,
than you have an option, go north to the cave or east to Provoka. By going
north you can get some items lets go that way.

Head north fight the goblins, wrag wolves, possible some ware wolves, lizards
and Ogres. Ogres can be a ***** but they are weak to Fire. Eventually after
walking by a bunch of rivers you'll reach the cave.

-Matoya's Cave-

Go down and talk to the broom, he says that to open the map push B + Select,
only its backwards. Anyway enter the room to the north and you'll find and old
witch who's looking for he glass eye. Go to the left and grab the antidote and
the two potions. Leave once you get it all.

-World Map-

Now based on the monsters you ran into you may need healing. If so return to
Cornelia, and use the INN. If you can make it than head south near the bridge
and turn east. After traveling east continue for a while until you reach the
port city of Pravoka!

-Pravoka-

Welcome to the pirate infested town of Pravoka! Here we have many things to
buy! So the first stop is the weapons store. For Warriors buy Battle Axes or
Broadswords, I recommend Boradswords since Battle Axes are a lot more money
but have only +1 more attack power. For Red Mages and Thieves buy a Scimitar,
yes a RM can get a Broadsword but he doesn't need it. Now search for the armor
store. There buy Leather Shields for all who can wield them. DO NOT buy Iron
Armor, its far to expensive now, but if you want it that badly fight or play
the ship game once you get it. (see secrets) See all equipment you don't need.

Hmmmmwe might as well get the ship now. Go just north of the armor shop and
you'll see some pirates. Talk to the middle pirate to initiate a Boss Battle!

--------------------
BOSS: Nine Pirates
--------------------
HP: 24 each (216 total)
Gil: 40 each (360 total)
Exp: 40 each (360 total)
Drops: Leather Shield
Title: "9 Pirates of Pravoka"

WHAT?!?!?! Nine bosses?!?!?! Meh, these guys are an even bigger pushover than
Garland was. All you must do is cast Sleep, than attack like crazy. Most of
the time Warriors, Monks, Thieves, and RMs will kill a Pirate in one hit. It's
not hard at all. If you get lucky you'll get a Leather Shield, sell it unless
you need to equip it.

After a not hard fought battle the head pirate will give you his ship! (Can I
get a w00t?) So what's left? Magic of course, but it won't come cheap! Train
or play the ship game to get money, to access ship game go into your ship and
hold A and push B 22 times. For a WM buy Blindna and Null Shock, for the BM,
Blizzard and Temper, for a RM, Blizzard, Temper and Null Shock.

CHECK LIST:

Class: Weapon, Armor, Shields, Gloves, Lv2 Spells

Warrior: Broadsword, Iron Armor*, Leather Shield, Leather Gloves, N/A
Thief: Scimitar, Leather Armor, N/A, Leather Gloves, N/A
Monk: none, Leather Armor, N/A, Leather Gloves, N/A
Red Mage: Scimitar, Chain Mail, N/A, Leather Gloves, Blizzard(blk),
Temper(blk), Null-Shock*(white)
White Mage: Hammer, Cloths, N/A, Leather Gloves, Null Shock, Blindna, none
Black Mage: Staff, Cloths, N/A, Leather Gloves, Blizzard, Temper, Slow*

Finally we can leave this town and continue our quest. Leave Pravoka and go to
your ship!

-World Map-

Phew that was work. Well we can go to the next location and that is Elfehim.
Where is Elfheim? Its just south of Cornelia (consult map). Before going there
I highly recommend playing the ship game you can get a lot of cash and good
items. Or you can train on the open seas; Buccaneers are a good source of
money.

While training always sail to heal in Cornelia, its only 30 for the INN. In
Pravoka its 50 and in Elfheim it will go up to 100! Once you're ready go to
the dock just north of Elfheim and travel south to the city.

-Elfheim-

This is a town full of Elves, who could've guessed? Things here are very
expensive, that's muy expensive for those who hablas espanol. Solike always
go to the weapons store first! There all you must buy is a Dagger for any BMs
and Sabers for RMs and Thieves if you desire so.

Leave, head west to the Armor store. Buy Iron Shields and Helms for Warriors,
and Leather Caps for everyone else. Once you are done leave, go to the item
store buy some Antidotes and some Tents if you wish. Now we must head to the
Western Keep, do not buy magic as of now, lets talk to thee Prince First.

-Elven Castle-

Leave the town and go north to the castle. Upon entering go north than left to
the prince's room. Talk to his aid and he'll tell you about Astos, the Dark
Elf. It seems Astos robbed the castle and cursed the prince, he has taken
refuge in the Western Keep. Lets go get him!

-World Map-

Head southwest from Elfheim, than go north between to mountains, you'll be in
a giant forest. Continue north until you reach a river. Go west around the
river and continue north between the mountains and the cost. Eventually you'll
reach a castle thing, it's the Western Keep.

-Western Keep-

Welcome to yet another broken down old place, but unlike the Chaos Shrine this
has no random encounters. Go northwest until you reach a room, go in and talk
to the King. He claims that Astos attacked him and destroyed the castle. The
King wants you to get his crown from the Marsh Cave so he can restore the
castle. There's no way we can topple the Cave without Lv3 Magic! So lets go
back to Elfheim and buy some.

-World Map-

Go back to Elfheim. Go to Cornelia if you need to heal.

-Elfheim-

By now you should have at least 3000gil. First make sure you go the Lv3 shops,
they are just northwest of the town entrance, and at the top left corner are
the Lv4 shops. So what magic to buy? Well this time its your choice for now.
But I strongly recommend getting at least Fira and Heal, the others are up to
you. I doubt you'll have 3 mages but if you do than to bad. But if you have 2
or less mages and one of them is white make sure to pick up Heal and Cura.

CHECK LIST (note: may be altered)

Tent x3
Antidote x10

Ok got it all? Good, but let me add if you can afford it buy Iron Armor, you
will need it in Marsh Cave. Ready well lets go!

-World Map-

So where is Marsh Cave? Well its easy to find. Go like you would to the
Western Keep, but don't go north to the river. Instead head northwest and head
between two more mountains. Now you will be near a lot of separate mountains
and swamp-land (blueish land). Head south around the mountains you will come
across a hole, if needed use a Tent or Sleeping Bag before going in.

-Marsh Cave-

MC BF1

So first go up around a long winding path, you'll fight a lot of monsters weak
to Dia. Also monsters caked Green Slime are only weak to magic, they absorb
attacks. Continue till you reach the stairs.

MC BF2

First go down into a big room to pick up about 700gil and a Broadsword, give
it to a RM if he doesn't have one. Leave and go up into a room with 680gil.
Finnaly go right of that room to get a Dagger if you never got one for your
BM. Go back to the staircase.

MC BF1

Go back to the entrance and use a tent if needed. After go down until you
reach some stairs.

MC BF2

Leave and head down and right. You can explore on your own to find treasure,
some are good. Eventually you will reach a room where you go in, walk through
and leave. South of it are the stairs.

MC BF3

We almost have the crown now. In the very first room you see is a phoenix
down. Oh and monsters will attack in bigger groups, use Fira when outnumbered
by a lot. Go south of that room to pick up copper amulet, give it to the
person with lowest HP. Go south until you reach another big room, but don't go
in its empty. Now go right, the next room has the Piscodeamons!

--------------------------------
MINI-BOSS: Piscodeamons (x2-x4)
--------------------------------
HP: 34 each
Gil: 300 each
Exp: 276 each
Drops: none
Title: "Guardians of the Crown"

Well look at these bad boys! They have a dangerous attack but they are weak to
Thunder. Really just heal, use Thunder/Thundera and attack, they will die in
no time.

After grab the chest it contains the crown! Go to the room north of this to
get a Cottage. Continue north but don't go in this room its empty. Go left to
the stairs.

MC BF2

Go to the stairs.

MC BF1

Go to the exit.

-World Map-

Go north the Western Keep again. Before going in use a Tent and Save.

-Western Keep-

Return to the King's room. Talk to him, but wait! He will laugh it turns out
this is Astos! He has tricked you!

--------------
BOSS: Astos
--------------
HP: 420
Gil: 2000
Exp: 2250
Drops: Mythril Sword!!!!
Title: "King of the Dark Elves"

Don't let his low HP fool you Astos is well prepared. He will most likely do
Death to a character, and if it hits start scrambling to heal that person.
Than he'll do Slowra to someone, if it's an attacker that's bad. Now if you
have a BM or RM Temper the best attacker, so long as he hasn't been slowed
down. Attack Astos and heal with a RM or WM. Astos will either attack or Haste
himself from this point on, but he will die shortly. If he drops the Mythril
Sword rejoice!

Well after this battle Astos will drop the Crystal Eyehmm could this be
Matoya's? Well anyway leave the Keep and return of Elfheim.

-World Map-

Go the Elfheim

-Elfheim-

Welcome back, upon arriving go to the INN, you should have at least 5000gil
you can spare 100 this time. Anyway by now your Mages should be able to get
Lv4 spells, if not train and pick up some extra gil. When ready buy Poisona
and Null Frost for White Mages, get Blizzara and Haste for Black Mages and get
Null Frost, Haste and Blizzara for Red Mages. By this point you may not have
it all, but here's what you should have before the Vampire's Treasure.

CHECK LIST (spells only): * = your choice/recommended

White Mage

Lv1: Cure, Dia, Protect
Lv2: Null Shock, Blinda, *
Lv3: Heal, Cura, Null Blaze*
Lv4: Null Frost, Poisona, *

Black Mage

Lv1: Fire, Thunder, Sleep*
Lv2: Blizzard, Temper, *
Lv3: Fira, Thundera, *
Lv4: Blizzara, Haste, *

Red Mage

Lv1: Fire, Thunder, Cure
Lv2: Blizzard, Temper, *
Lv3: Fira, Thundera, Cura
Lv4: Blizzara, Haste, *

So lets go give Matoya her eye back.

-World Map-

Get into your ship and sail up towered Cornelia. Go up to the bridge and go
under it. Than go north to the dock and walk north to the cave.

-Matoya's Cave-

So go back into the main room and talk to Matoya, she'll thank you for the eye
and give you the Jolt Tonic. Lets go give it to the prince.

-World Map-

Sail back to Elfheim, heal at Cornelia if needed. Go into the Elven Castle.

-Elven Castle-

Back at the castle your first move should be going to the Prince's room. Talk
to his aid, he will use the tonic to revive the Prince. After he wakes the
Prince will thank you a reward you with the Mystic Key!

*-*The Vampire's Treasure*-*

Alrighty we got ourselves a cool new key. So head to the exit of the castle
but turn right and walk along the outside wall. Head north until you must go
around another pillar, do so. Continue north until you get to a separated
section of the castle go in to get a Mythril Hammer, 800gil, 700gill and
Bronze Gloves. Give the Hammer to a WM and the Gloves to a Warrior and leave.
Go to Elfheim.

-Elfheim-

Go to the Armor Store and sell any access weapons and stuff. You should have
enough money to get everyone but Warriors Copper Amulets, do so and if you
haven't yet get your Warrior(s) Iron Armor.

CHECK LIST (not including spells)

Warrior:
     Weapon: Broadsword
     Shield: Iron Shield
     Hat: Helm
     Armor: Iron Armor
Gloves: Bronze Gloves or Leather Gloves (if you have more than one)

Thief:
     Weapon: Saber
     Shield: none
     Hat: Leather Cap
     Armor: Copper Armlet
     Gloves: Leather Gloves

Monk:
     Weapon: none
     Shield: none
     Hat: Leather Cap
     Armor: Copper Armlet
     Gloves: Leather Gloves

White Mage:
     Weapon: Mythril Hammer
     Shield: none
     Hat: Leather Cap
     Armor: Copper Armlet
     Gloves: Leather Gloves

Black Mage:
     Weapon: Dagger
     Shield: none
     Hat: Leather Cap
     Armor: Copper Armlet
     Gloves: Leather Gloves

Red Mage:
     Weapon: Saber
     Shield: none
     Hat: Leather Cap
     Armor: Copper Armlet
     Gloves: Leather Gloves

Once you finally have everything from the last two check lists you can move
on. Also buy potions, tents and other stuff.

-World Map-

So you can go to a few places with this mystic key. I'm not going to get into
detail but you can find some stuff in the Western Keep, the Marsh Cave, and
the Chaos Shrine. Either way finally sail north to Castle Cornelia, heal in
the INN if needed.

-Castle Cornelia-

Go in than turn left and walk between the inner and outer walls. Go left, up,
than right until there's an opening. Go in the opening, than go right, south
and you'll find two rooms. In the right room you'll find a Saber, Mythril
Knife and a Cottage. In the left room you'll find Nitro Powder, a tent and
Iron Armor.

-World Map-

Well go into your ship and sail along the west coast. Eventually you'll reach
a dock just west of a cave. Walk south along the water and you'll reach the
Dwarf City of Mount Duergar.

-Mount Duergar-

Go into the room north of the entrance to get 545gil and 450gil. Than leave,
go as far left as possible, than down than left, than down again. You will
reach a room full of treasure. You can get a tent, a Great Helm, Wyrmkiller,
Ether, Potion, Mythril mail, 575gil and a Cottage. Give Wyrmkiller to your
best attacker.

Leave this room and go right, talk to the Dwarf. He'll smell the Nitro Powder
and say he can open a canal to the other ocean. After a cut scene there will
be no more canal. So now you can leave Duergar.

-World Map-

Well now than walk back up to your ship. Go to Cornelia and heal if needed.
After sail along the east cost of the path to Duergar to the canal. Than turn
north and go up the west side. Eventually you'll reach a dock just west of a
city. The city is Melmond.

-Melmond-

First go into the weapon store and buy Longswords for Warriors and RMs. Than
buy a Flachin for a Thief, but only if it helps him. Sell unequipped items but
hang on to Wyrmkiller. Leave make way for the Armor shop. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF
BUYING THE KNIGHT'S ARMOR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!! Anyway buy Great Helms
if you have more than one Warrior and buy them steel gloves. Now buy a Silver
Armlet for everyone you can afford for, they are 4000 a piece. If you can only
afford one give it to your character with the lowest HP. Again sell unneeded
stuff and leave.

You may or may not be able to get Lv5 Magic, if not no big deal. If so, than
you can earn money easily at a certain place. Open up the map; see the area
southeast of Pravoka? There is a city surrounded by water and mountains with a
dock to the east. Land at the dock and fight you can get good EXP and gil
here.

If you talk to people around town you'll learn that a Vampire is doing this to
the land. Sowe take out the Vampire we take out the problem. He lives in the
Earth Cave just southwest of Melmond. This town doesn't have an Item Shop so
buy stuff in Cornelia, Pravoka and ELfheim. When ready leave.

-World Map-

So leave go down along the southern coast until you reach some mountains. Turn
south from here.. Go around the large mountain that you will be facing, and
the entrance is there.

-Earth Cave-

***Before going in grab some Gold Needels!!!!!***

EC BF1

First let me say conserve MPit's a long walk down and back up. Head southeast
to find the stairs, but be warned, in the northwest there is a long square
corridor that initiates a random encounter after every step, be sure to avoid
it. Explore to find some decent treasures, but when ready head down.

EC BF2

Ok now go down into the next section, go right a bit than turn back up. Turn
right again, than turn downagain. Than make your way southeast and eventually
you'll reach a red door. Go in the receive 330gil, a Tent and the Coral Sword.
Give the sword to anyone, so long as it doesn't lower their attack. (Most
likely a Thief.)

Anyway leave the room and continue to go down. Eventually you must turn right
than go up, it leads to the stairs.

EC BF3

Almost there, go all the right into a room to get a Sleeping Bag. Continue to
go up, eventually turn right towered a room with a red door. Go in it to get
3400gil! Or you can also go right and get a Gold Needle. Leave and continue to
go right and up. Soon you'll be near another red door. But it's empty,
continue going down. So as you go on you'll come across a bat. He wont move,
confront himbut wait he turns into a Vampire!

---------------
BOSS: Vampire
---------------
HP: 280 (seriously like wtf?)
Gil: 2000
EXP: 1200
Drops: none
Title: "Lich's Faithful Servant"

Woware the creators serious? Only 280HP? Like wtf? Anyway he is weak to Dia
and Firehe'll probably die in a turn. Don't bother Tempering or Hasting.
Seriously if you lose don't continue reading this FAQ.

Anyway after this pointless battle grab the chest behind the Vampire. You get
the Star Rubywell time to leave the cave now. Go back to the stairs.

EC BF2

Continue to go up, save every now and then if you don't have a lot of HP and
Gold Needles.

EC BF1

Welcome back to the first floor, leave this god forsaken place.

-World Map-

Wowyou must be tired. Use a tent, cottage, castle (not real) whatever to heal
up. So where to go with this Star Ruby? Lets go explore the cave to the
northwest. Head back up to the mountains you saw. Go north and you must walk
in-between them. Go south by a small forest and enter the cave.

-Giant's Cave-

Wow that is a big giantAnyway walk around to him and give him the Star Ruby.
He eats it!!!! After all that hard work!!!!! But you moves out of your way
even though that Ruby was divinity worth more.

Go south of the stairs into a smaller room to get a Great Axe, 620gil, 450gil
and a Mythril Helm. Once you do this go back up to the stairs and go out.

-World Map-

Follow the path south to the other caveyou can't get lost.

-Sage's Cave-

Go down find the old guy and talk with him. He will say that it was not the
Vampire's doing that damages the earth. Another monster lives below him,
deeper in the cave. So take the Earth Rod and lets take out the monster! Leave
the cave.

EC BF1-3

Make your way down to the Vampire's Chamber. Go behind his room and hit A near
the platform thing.

EC BF4

First go up, left than down. Than go left and up again, do this a lot for a
while. Eventually you'll go down, than you'll have to loop around and go back
up to the stairs.

EC BF5

Well go right for a brief moment than go up. Go left a bit, than down for a
while. You'll than do another loop up into a room. In front of you there will
be a small brown circle. Save, heal than talk to it.

-----------
BOSS: Lich
-----------
HP: 1200
Gil: 3000
EXP: 2200
Drops: Dry Ether (rare)
Title: "Guardian of the Earth Spirit"

Well this is the first of the four fiends you will encounter. He is weak to
Dia and Fire! So have WMs heal and cast Diaga, have RMs and BMs caste Firaga,
and Haste and Temper attackers. Finally attack with Warriors, Thief's and
Monks. Lich has one bad moveEarthquake which can instantly kill all four of
your characters. Other than that Lich is cake, eventually he will die.

After the fight the Earth Crystal will light up and a cut scene will appear
and it shows the Earthgift Shrine be opened. It is a Soul of Chaos dungeon see
that section for details. Anyway go behind the crystal and there is a
teleporter, use it.

*-*Up the Winding River*-*

-World Map-

Use a tent than make your way to Melmond.

-Melmond-

Heal in the INN and buy any armor and magic you wanted. Than leave this city.

-World Map-

Go to your boat, head to Cornelia and Elfheim to pick up some supplies. Than
sail west from the Earth Cave. Eventually you'll reach the continent that has
Pravoka on it. There will be a lot of mountains and random rivers, dock east
of the city. (see map)

Walk southwards down the peninsula into a giant forest. Than walk clockwise up
the side of the river until you get to the town of Crescent Lake.

-Crescent Lake Town-

Welcome! This here is a quaint little town which is easy to navigate. First
heal and save if needed. Than go to the armor shop, or as I like to say
"Warrior Heaven." Buy anything Mythril for anyone who can take it, by a
Buckler for your RM. After go to the Weapon Store, buy a Mythril Axe for
Warriors and Mythril Swords for Thieves and RMs.

Leave, than go northeast by the Magic Shops, you probably don't have Lv6
magic, and if you do don't worry about buying it now. Go right from the shops
into a wooded area. There are Dwarfs everywhere, talk to this one to get the
canoe.

     X X X = Regular Dwarf
                                  O = "Canoe Dwarf"
  X X

X X

X X

  X O

     X X

You can talk to the other Dwarfs if you wish. They will tell you about some of
the other Fiends. But once you get the canoe leave the town.

-World Map-

So now we can sail in rivers, hence opening up a lot of new monsters for you.
Well get into the canoe in the river above the town and left. Eventually
you'll reach fork, you can go down or left, go left. Than after turn north.
Continue of and eventually you must turn right. As you continue on you'll
reach another fork, turn right. After you'll soon reach another fork, go west
and you'll follow a long narrow strait until you reach land. Head southeast
towered a volcano, save and use a tent than enter.

*-*Marilith, Fiend of Fire*-*

-Mount Gulug-

MG BF1

First I must say something. This dungeon introduces a new thing and that is
floors that hurt you. By that I mean as long as you take a step on the floor
you lose 1HP per step. However you can't die there if you have 1HP and there
are no random encounters. In this dungeon the injuring floor is lava.

Anyway there are no chests on this floor so go left across the lava floor.
Then go up to the stairs.

MG BF2

Now this floor has tons of chests, but they're all out of the way. If you want
them go up into the room you can see. Head up until you can turn right. Do so
and open the chest for 4150gil. Go up some more then turn left, when you get
the chance go down than turn up to two chests. After grabbing a total 1545gil
go down the left side. Go down a zig-zaging path until you reach a horde of
chests! There you will find Mythril Gloves, a Mythril Helm, a Hi-Potion, a
Tent, 1520gil, 1455gil, 1795gil, an Antidote, 1760gil, a Mythril Axe, a
Mythril Shield, and a Phoenix Down. Equip any Mythril Items to anyone who can
get them.

Now go back up the path and turn right. Go down after to reach a way out. By
this point I'm usually worn out, so I leave and use a Tent. Than go back up
the second floor and go as far left as you can to reach the stairs.

MG BF3

This floor has nothing useful. So let's leave quickly head right. You must go
up and down a lot while going right. Eventually you'll reach the stairs.

MG BF4

Ok this floor has way to much lava and nothing good. So head down, hug the
bottom wall. Than turn right and head to the stairs.

MG BF3

Welcome back to floor 3. Head down than left across a floor of lava. There
will be a small narrow path where you can turn down, do so. Than go left for a
while until you reach some stairs going back down to floor 4.

MG BF4

Go in the room directly up from you. You will most likely fight Lava Worms in
here. Anyway the upper chest has about 2500gil and the other has as Gold
Needle. Head left than down until you see a room on your left, it has 1760gil.
Head left, up than left again to enter a room with a lot of chests. You will
get an Antidote, 7340gil, Ice Brand, a Flame Shield a some more gil. Give Ice
Brand and the Shield to your Warrior or best attacker.

Go back down the room with 1760gil. Go down and right until you get to another
room. It has a total 165gil. Continue going down and right and you'll reach
another room with two chests. You will find a Staff and 1250gil. Head down,
and to the left is the staircase.

MG BF5

The last floor. This is an odd one. You are in the center and you can go 8
different ways. But you only have to go southwest. That's where Marilith is.
But if you wish you can explore some. The only treasure worth getting is the
Flame Mail in the western room, but be careful its guarded by a Red Dragon.
When ready go into the southwest room, save and heal before confronting the
red ball. Marilith will appear boss battle!

----------------
BOSS: Marilith
----------------
HP: 1440
Gil: 3000
EXP: 2475
Drops: Golden Apple
Title: "Guardian of the Fire Spirit"

Even though she in bodies a firey spirit, Marilith isn't weak agenst Blizzard.
So have Warriors, Monks and Thieves attack. Have WM and RM heal and have BM
and RM Haste and Temper who ever holds Ice Brand. Marilith is weak to almost
every status element. (i.e. Darkness, Sleep). She rarely uses magic, but she
will use Fira, which does a 150 average to everybody. Her attack is relatively
randomized, I've seen it do 10 on one turn than 200 on the next.

After she is defeated the Fire Crystal will light, and a cut scene will show
her statue in Hellfire Chasm disappear like Lich's did. (See SoC for more)
Like with Lich there is a teleporter, use it.

-World Map-

Use a Tent or Cottage and head back to Crescent Lake Town.

*-*The Stone of Flight*-*

-Crescent Lake Town-

Welcome back to Crescent Lake. Hit the magic shops first. Buy Protera and
Invisira for your WM. Buy Thundaga for you BM and Stun if you desire so. But
wait your RM can't get anything. Only a Red Wizard can! So I think its time to
Class Change! Stock up on supplies and leave.

-World Map-

Welcome back to the World Map. So where do we go to class change? Well its
gonna take a while. First we need a Levistone. We can get one at the Ice Cave,
just north of Mount Gulug. First head back to your ship. Then after sail north
along the west coast. Eventually you'll go through a small strait which leads
into a harbor. You can then either land at the dock and walk to the river or
you can land next to the river.

Than you must head west down the river, turn north at the first chance you
get. You'll reach a fork go east than north. You will turn west go that way,
ignore the fork going upward. Turn south than turn west, don't keep going
south. Follow the river until you reach land. Head in-between the mountains
and head north to the cave. Save use a tent and enter.

-Cavern of Ice-

CI BF1

Like Mount Gulug this place also has floors that hurt you. Beware of spiked
floors. Anyway head right, then go down, then left to reach the stairs.

CI BF2

To reach the next staircase you can go down and left or right then down.

CI BF3

Go to the stairs to go back to BF2.

CI BF2

Go counter-clockwise until you reach a room. Avoid the cracks and get the
chests. One has cloths the other has a Flame Sword. Step on a crack to fall
down.

CI BF3

In this room you will get in a fight no matter what. After that leave. Go
right across some spikes to get Ice Armor and Mythril Gloves. Leave go back
and head down. Stay to the right and continue to go down. Eventually you can
break off and go left again, do so. In the room you'll find 9900gil, 7900gil,
500ogil, 5454gil, 12350gil, and 180gil!!! But if you step in a certain place a
fight will start.

XXX X = Chest
  O O = Fight
XXX

Leave the room and go to the right. Head down, right than up to reach the
stairs.

CI BF1

Go into the room grab the chest for an Ether. Leave than go down into another
room for 10000gil! Head up, right and down and enter the bigger room. Head up,
avoid the cracks to get a Sleeping Bag, 9500gil and an Ice Shield. Step on the
crack to fall down.

CI BF2

Walk to the big rock avoid all cracks! When you get in front of it you'll
fight a Mini-Boss!

----------------------
MINI-BOSS: Evil Eye
----------------------
HP: 162 (lower than Vampire!)
Gil: 3225
EXP: 3225
Drops: none
Title: "Protector of the Stone"

No strategy is needed. Hit him once and he'll die. Grab the stone behind him
and step on a crack.

CI BF3

Head back to BF1.

CI BF1

In the northeast corner are some stairs that will take you out. Go to them.

-World Map-

Use a Tent and head back to your ship. OK sail south along the west coast of
the continent. Bypass the dock and continue down. Eventually you'll see a
desert to the west of a river. Land at the end of the river and canoe to the
western side. Walk into the desert, cut scene.

It will show you place the Levistone down and an airship will come out of the
ground! Go north and enter the Airship. Fly to Cornelia to heal if needed, and
buy supplies.

*-*The Trials of Courage*-*

Now its time to go see the Dragon King, Bahamut. Open the map see the chain of
small islands? Fly there. There are the Dragon Caves and Hellfire Chasm.

-Dragon Islands/Caves

First go to the southeastern island; enter the cave surrounded by the forest.
Inside there you'll find 2750gil, 2000gil, 1450gil, 9500gil, a X-Potion,
1520gil and 2750gil. Leave and go back in the ship. Don't go to the small
island north of that, it's an empty cave. Land on the swampy island near that.
Don't go in the lower cave, that's Hellfire Chasm, head to the northern cave.
Here you can find an Elixir, a Cottage and 500gil.

Now you're back in the World Map. Go to the island north of you with two
caves. The lower one is the one you're looking for. Go down to the lower floor
and talk to Bahamut. He'll tell you to return with an item of courage. Leave
this cave don't go to the one north of it, it's empty. Finally go to the
western island. It has a Tent, a Dry Ether, and a X-Potion. Leave and go into
the airship.

-World Map-

Where can we get a token of courage? Hmmaybe we can find something in the
Citadel of Trials! Where is the Citadel? Just east of the Dragon Islands of
course. But wait we can't land there since there's a lot of swampland. So
there are two ways the get there. The first way is to land north of the harbor
near the Citadel. Than walk clockwise around the harbor and some mountains.
After you must cross a river and you are there.

Or you can do something easier. Fly back to your boat and land near it. Than
enter your boat. Sail all the way north to the continent. After that enter the
harbor and go to the river. Go from the ship into the canoe, cross the river
and you are there. Save and heal before going in.

-Citadel of Trials-

CT F1

Upon arrival go north and talk to the Dwarf. He'll allow you to pass, head to
the top left corner and step into the throne.

CT F2

Ok go south and enter the teleporter. Next room, go into this teleporter. In
this section go into the lower teleporter, in the next room go into the lone
one. Next go into the lower teleporter, the room after will be another lone
one. This room has two more for you, go to the rightmost one.

Ok now go all the way to the right of this section, go in the door. Before you
can get the chest you'll fight a Clay Golem, but you get some Gauntlets. Now
go down the left corridor, go into the left teleporter you see. After go up
the stairs.

CT F3

Go up the long corridor, open the chest to get a Healing Staff! Go left down
another long corridor. Eventually you'll see three chests, they contain some
Steel Gloves, another Ice Brand and a Ruby Armlet. Equip them as needed and go
down. You'll see more chests and they have, 7340gil, 1455gil, and a Cottage.
Now head right, when you see a chest go up and get it! You got a Rat's Tail.
Head to the throne but wait, mini-boss!

When they die step on the throne.

CT F1

Leave the Citadel.

*-*Bahamut's Gift*-*

-World Map-

Use a cottage, tent what ever and head to your airship. Than fly to the dragon
islands.

-Dragon Islands/Caves

Go back to Bahamut's cave and go talk to him. He will see the Rat Tail and
state that you do indeed have courage. Than after a brief seen your characters

Finally we have reaped the benefits of the Class Change. Lets continue our
quest!

*-*A Faerie and a Cube*-*

-World Map-

First we must head to Gaia. Where is it? Just east of the Citadel of Trials,
it's surrounded by mountains.

-Gaia-

Well welcome to another city. Since you can't get Lv7 magic yet head to the
Armor and Weapons shops. In the Armor shop by Ruby Armlets for those it will
help. Buy Protect Rings for everybody! Sell things you don't need and go to
the Weapon Store. Buy the Cat's Claws only if you have a BW. Leave after. Buy
supplies and leave.

-World Map-

Lets go get the cube first. Fly to the northwestern continent. Locate the city
surrounded by forests, its called Onrac. Land southwest of it outside of the
forest. Ok go to the river and go up into the waterfall.

-Waterfall Cavern-

Well lets search for this cube. Head up than turn left and continue left. When
you can go up do so, than turn left again when you get a chance. As you
continue you will go up and down a lot, but its all one corridor. Soon you'll
reach a main gallery with many different paths to take.

Head up through the top left corridor. It will lead to two more corridors. Go
down, as you continue down you'll see a lot of forks where you can break off.
Stay to the left side corridors. Soon you'll the corridor will loop around and
go right. You will reach a door go in.

You see many chests and a robot. The chests contain a Wizard Staff, a Ribbon,
13450gil, 6400gil, 5000gil, and a Defender. Talk to the robot the receive the
Warp Cube. Well make your way out of the cavern, but make sure you have
50,000gil.

-World Map-

Ok well canoe back down to your airship. Then fly or walk to the desert
northwest of this area. In the northwest corner of the desert there is a
smaller desert that is cutoff from the rest. Walk into it.

-Caravan-

Whoa! A small city in the desert? Nope your wrong, F--! But really head into
the tent thingy just up from where you are. Talk to the guy and buy the
Bottled Faerie, it costs 50,000gil! Once you get it leave.

-World Map-

Return to your ship and fly to Gaia.

-Gaia-

Upon arrival your Faerie will fly away from you. Walk around to the back of
the city, you must go counter-clockwise. You're faerie will be near a pond
north of the city. Talk to her, and she offers to get you some Oxyale.

Now if you can get Lv7 magic head to those shops. Now money is short, you may
only be able to afford a few spells. In fact the only one here that you should
get is Blizzaga or Curaja. When ready leave.

-World Map-

Remember that city Onrac? Well land south of it like you did to get to the
Waterfall Cavern. Than walk northeast between the mountains and ocean.

-Onrac-

This city has no new weapons or armor for you. So heal in the INN and do
whatever. If you have the money buy Healaga! If not than whatever, head to the
eastern part of town. You must cross some bridges to get there. When you reach
a dock talk to the girl in front of a barrel. She'll say she's been waiting
and she disappears

When ready go into the barrel.

*-*Kraken, Fiend of Water*-*

-Sunken Shire-

SS F3

Oh man that was odd. Hmseems we can breath underwater thank you Oxyale. So
head up for a little while. Than turn right and go up the stairs.

SS F4

Head down all the way, pass the empty room. Turn left and cross another
balcony. You will be able to go many ways, head down. Go into the room on your
left to get a Mage's Staff. Then go down head right and go up into that room
for 12350gil.

SS F5

Hehe, no encounter's here! Go strait up into the room north of you to get
1760gil, 9000gil, and a Diamond Armlet! Go up as far as possible. In the
second leftmost room there is 2750gil. Go towered the room below that. But
right of that room is 1450gil. Two rooms south of that is an Antidote. The
room to the right of that has a Diamond Shield. Go to the room two up from
that room to get 5000gil. Than head left and up one. This room has two chests
containing, 10000gil and 10gil.

Ok now to back to the room that had 2750gil. Then head left of that and go up.
Head left down a long corridor. The room at the end has three chests
containing, a Diamond Helm, Diamond Gloves and the Rosetta Stone! Finally you
can leave head back to the stairs.

SS F4

Go back to floor 3.

SS F3

Leave this place and go back to Onrac.

-Onrac-

First things first go to the INN and heal. Buy Healaga if you didn't; buy
Saber for your BW if you wish. Well that's it go back into the Shrine.

-Sunken Shrine-

SS F3

This time go up but turn left and go down the stairs.

SS F2

Head left, go up and turn right once you can. The stairs are at the top right
corner.

SS F3

Go up to the other stairs.

SS F4

Head down along the side of the room. Since the room is empty go down the
stairs.

SS F3

Go into the room, grab 100gil inside the chest. Go down and there is another
chest with 450gil. Continue going down until you leave the room. Head over to
the stairs.

SS F2

Head down and go into the room for 8135gil and 7690gil. Leave and go left, at
one point you must go up, do so and quickly turn left. In the room below you
there is 5450gil, 385gil and Giant's Gloves. DO NOT EQIP THEM! After than lave
and head up. There will be a room on your left go in to get a Light Axe!

Ok leave this room and go right to another room. It has 2750gil, 7340gil,
9900gil and another Ribbon. Leave go up and head left to the staircase.

SS F1

Head up, when you see a room on your left go in it. Walk down the room to the
other side and leave. Head left than down a long corridor that is slightly
isolated. Than turn left and go into a very large room. The exit is in the top
left area but you must go counter-clockwise to reach it.

Head left than up for a while longer. Soon you can turn right, do so and enter
a room. You will see a blue sphere heal and save. After that confront Kakrin.

BOSS: Kraken
----------------
HP: 1800
Gil: 5000
EXP: 4245]
Drops: Kikuichimonji
Title: "Guardian of the Water Spirit"

Well this fight is pretty easy. First have your WW or RW do Protera. Have your
best attacker use Giant's Gloves once. As for other attackers have them
attack. Have your BW and RW Haste and Temper the person who uses the Giant's
Glove's. After about two turns that attacker should be doing 1000! Heal with
the WW or RW and Kraken will easily die.

After another easy fight the crystal will light. A cut scene will show the
statue outside the Lifespring Grotto disappear. (See SoC for more) Step on the
teleporter. Go back into Onrac.

*-*The Lufenians*-*

-Onrac-

Buy any magic you wanted to get. Heal at the INN, buy supplies and leave.

-World Map-

Go to the airship and head to Gaia.

-Gaia-

Go to the magic shops and get anything you wanted to get that you couldn't
afford. Leave, buy stuff and go back to the World Map.

-World Map-

Where to now? Melmond that's where!

-Melmond-

Go to the northeast of the city; go by the Armor shop to get there. Look for
the man walking around the graveyard, speak with him. Professor Unnn is his
name and with the Rosetta Stone he will tech you the ancient Lufenian lineage!
Well with that done leave the city.

-World Map-

So let's go the ancient city of Lufenia. Where is that, on a peninsula south
of Gaia. But it's covered in forest; the only place to land is next to the
mountains near the big ass desert. Land and walk down to the city.

-Lufenia-

This place has only a magic shops. Ignore all of the other Lufenians unless
you want a history lesson. Go up an then turn right when you can. After you
will turn down, go left onto the platform thing. Talk to the only one not
moving, he/she will give you the chime. Ok now head up until you get to an
area with a tree missing. If you go right you'll find the shops. They sell the
best Lv8 Spells, Full-Life and Flare! You probably don't have Lv8 Magic, but
leave when ready.

Ok so the tower stands in the center of the Yahnikurm Desert, that is just
south of Gaia. So where can you land? At the southeast end of the desert there
is an opening between the mountains, land there and head north. Save and heal
before entering.

-Mirage Tower-

MT F1

Go north into the large room. Make your way to the center of the room to find
a lot of chests. You can find 800gil, a Healing Helm, a Vorpal Sword, 3400gil,
18010gil, an Aegis Shield, 2750gil and a Tent. When ready go out the left door
and go up the stairs.

MT F2

Ok now I never explore this room because it angers me. Look for treasures
yourself. Anyway go up along the corridor. You must go almost in a complete
circle but once you can turn right do so. Go up and right to the staircase.

-Thanks to CostaRicanGeneral for this-

If you would of went pass the point you go right for the stairs you would stay
on the right side and keep going down the corridor and there is a room with
8135 gil, 7900 gil, Thor's Hammer, 12350 gil, 13,000, a Cottage, 7600 gil, Sun
Blade, 10,000 gil!!! and finally Dragon mail. This is in a semi-large room in
the center with a total of 10 treasure chests in a circle 5 on one side 5 on
the other.

-End-

MT F3

Go around this large room to the door. Go in mini-boss!

After another easy mini-boss step onto the platform in the rooms center.

*-*Tiamat, Fiend of Wind*-*

-Flying Fortress-

FF F1

Ok 5 more floors left. First leave and go down, you will find a Razor in the
room. Go back and than head right. In that room you will find, 180gil, a
Healing Helm, a Protect Ring, 6720gil, and 5000gil. If you go to the left room
you'll find, 7900gil, a Potion, 9900gil and 4150gil. After that go up and
teleport up to the next floor.

FF F2

Ok this floor is a bit odd, but it has a lot of treasure. It has a Ribbon,
some Diamond stuff, Black and White Robes and the Adamantite. The floor has a
lot of different corridors all going north, south, southeast, northwest, ect.
Below is a map.

T 1F T T = Treasure
                           1F = to first floor
                           3F = to third floor
T empty T A = Adamantite

A 3F T

Whenever you're ready go up to the third floor.

FF F3

Ok go right and talk to the robot thing. He says you can see the entire world
from that big white thing. So look in it, it says that the four forces are
converging at the Chaos Shrine!! Let's return to there after.

So head up near the teleporter and go left. Head down when you an and go up to
floor 4.

FF F4

This is very odd. If you go to much to wrong way you will end back up here at
the start. Luckily I know where to go. Simply head up for two sections then
left two sections.

FF F5

This is it, the final floor. Not only is Timat here but so is the optional
boss, Death Machine! (See Bestiary) Anyway walk down the long narrow path
until you reach the green orb, circle whatever it is. Heal and save, than
confront Timat.

BOSS: Tiamat

Title: "Guardian of the Wind Spirit"

To beat Timat use the same strategy you used for Kakrin. Haste, Temper, Saber
your main attacker! Heal with the WW and RW. Also Timat will use Thunderbolt
which can do a nasty 150-250 per person. Null-Shock helps to weaken that. In
no time she will be dead.

After the crystal will light and the statue outside Whisperwind Cove will
open. Step on the teleporter behind the crystal.

*-*Chaos' Spiral*-*

-World Map-

Well, well, well. The four "great" fiends have been beaten. Hmbut how is the
Chaos Shrine involved in all this? Let's go check it out, buy Lv8 magic if you
didn't, get supplies and go there. But wait remember the adamantite? Take it
to Mount Duergar.

-Mount Duergar-

Ok head left than go up into the room. Talk to the Dwarf and he'll make the
Excalibur Sword for you. Leave.

-World Map-

Go to the Chaos Shrine, heal and save before entering.

-Chaos Shrine-

Walk north into the room where you fought Garland. Examine the black crystal.
A brief scene will show the crystal disappear. Let's go backtwo thousand
years in time! Step onto where the crystal used to be.

-Chaos Shrine(past)-

CS F1

Go down until you reach a wall. Head down to the bottom right corner and go up
the stairs.

CS F2

Head right and go up the stairs.

CS F3

Head down until you see a row of columns. Continue to go down until your past
the wall. Head right; don't go into the small open area. As you head right
you'll reach a row of columns going up. Go up and enter the room. When you
reach the gray slab thing hit A to play the Lute. A ladder will appear! Grab
the chests and go down.

CS F2

Leave the room and head down and left. When you reach the bottom left corner
you must head up. When you reach the top corner go down the stairs.

CS F1

Ok now head left. In the top left corner is a staircase, go down it.

CS BF1

Welcome to the Earth Floor. Here are a lot of the Earth based monsters you
fought. So head up. Turn right and continue on that path until you hit a wall.
Turn down and continue to go that way. In the bottom right corner there is a
staircase. Save and heal before approaching itthanboss fight!

Whathe's back? And he's a lot stronger. Lich is no longer weak to Fire, but
the Dia weakness is still in effect. Go by the usual game plan, Temper, Haste
and Saber the best attacker. Also have your WW heal and use Dia. Watch out for
Flare too. Eventually Lich will die.

I wonder if Lich is back than are they all back? Go down the stairs.

CS BF2

Well if that was the Earth Floor than this must be the Fire Floor. So head out
and go up. Go into the room, head right and soon you can leave. If you want go
all the way down to search for a Megaelixer, Sasuke's Blade, a Protect Cloak
and a Protect Ring. When read head to the stairs that lead down to basement 3.
Save and heal first.

Well as we though here is Marilith, at full strength. Now she has death but
with Protect Rings its no problem. Also she is only weak to Confuse now. Do as
always do win.

I guess Kraken is nexthead down the stairs.

CS BF3

As we thought this is indeed the Water Floor. Simply make your way to the
southeast corner of this floor. As always heal and save before you get to
close to the stairs.

before. And his Ink spell can blind the entire party, be ready. Once again
beef up your attacks and kill the guy.

One left and that is Timathead down the stairs.

CS F4

Finallythe Wind Floor. First head south, than right. You should come across a
long path, take it to find Masamune. Than head back to the entrance. Save and
heal now because you'll fight Timat as soon as you head right.

stronger. Protect everyone, and beef up attacks. Cast Null All if you have it.
In no time she will die.

Head up to the stairs and go down.

CS BF5

Well the last floor. Head down to the only room, heal and save before
entering

DO NOT READ AHEAD SPOILERSREAD IF YOU DON'T CARE!

You will see Garland!!! But wait I thought we killed him? (Or at least removed
him from our false e-mail list.) Well he will explain that the four "Great
Powers" sent him back through time. Then from here he sent them back into the
future. Then he would be killed by youagain. This would result in him getting
sent back, but every time he fights you the first time he wouldn't remember
this.

It is an endless cycle, created out of Garland's malice. But nonot
GarlandChaos! With that Garland will transform into Chaos the true ruler of
the Fiends and bringer of darkness.

END SPOILERS

FINAL BOSS: Chaos

HP: 20000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0

Title: "The True Bringer of Darkness"

OMFG! 20000 health! Like how can we do that? Well cast barriers like protect
and the null moves with WW and RW. Than begin to beef up all of your
attackers. When they are all strong enough, like 1500-2000 a turn, begin to
cast Flare. Have the RW continue to beef them up though, and have your WW keep
people alive and cast Holy. He has many elemental spells, be ready. His attack
can kill of someone in a hit, be ready to use Full-Life or a Phoenix Down.
Slowly but surely you will win.

I hope you enjoyed the basic FF1 Walkthrough enjoy the text-based ending!

Q: I'm stuck on the World Map floor in Hellfire Chasm, how do I get out?

the FAQ, its there. However, I plan to research this floor more; hopefully I
can be of more help later. Please check the FAQ.

Q: I'm having trouble finding (insert monster).

A: Keep looking, a lot of them a pretty rare! It takes time to get 100%. Try
looking in areas where monsters like that are. Example: Monster #44 is rare,

look in there.

*-*Classes*-*

Warrior -----> Knight

The Warrior is a battle machine. His high attack makes him ideal for boss
fights. Another plus is his high defense, putting him first in the formation
is a good idea. His magic is pretty weak, but he can learn up Lv3 White Magic
Spells once he becomes a Knight.

Monk -----> Master

The Monk is a person who loves bare-handed battles. His attack can far surpass
even that of a Warrior if trained properly. He has fairly even stats, but can
never learn magic. Monk's are great for long tedious battles, if there stats
are raised well in battles they can hit up to 3000 agenst Chaos and other
bosses!

Thief -----> Ninja

The Thief is a quick agile attacker with decent strength. But his name is
misleading, never under and circumstance can he steal stuffever! After
becoming a Ninja his attack gets good, and he can learn up to Lv4 Black Magic.
His stats are fairly even, but his defense and HP may be low. He can also
almost always run from battles.

White Mage -----> White Wizard

This one here is not only the only female, but her sprit magic is unsurpassed.
Not only that but she can learn moves that can take out undead foes in a
single hit. She also is the only mage that can learn Heal spells and the other
good white magic spells, like Life., a huge plus for her. When she reaches her
peak, HP is decent, but other non magic stats are low.

Black Mage -----> Black Wizard

Unlike the WM with healing spells, the Black Mage practices the arts of
damaging magic. He learns spells that go by elements as well as stats that can
cripple opponents. His power, health and other stats may be bad, but if you
have low magic defense, this guy can be a monsters worst nightmare. This guy
can learn the second best black magic spell in FF history and the best spell
in this gameFlare!

Red Mage -----> Red Wizard

Red Magic? No the Red Mage can learn both White and Black magic. But however
since he studies both fields he cannot learn certain spells from each
category, including all Lv8 Spells. Not only does he have good magic but his
attack is that of a Thief! When all else fails the Red Mage is a great overall
choice! He can learn the basics of black magic like Fire and Sleep, and the
basics of white magic like Cure and Protera.

*-*Menu*-*

Ah the menuthe place that lets you dostuff! Here are all the options.

ITEM MENU: Lets you use an item stored in your inventory.

EQUIP MENU: Lets you view or change the current weapons and armor a character
might be using.

MAGIC MENU: Lets you view magic spells you know; also you can use certain
spells like Cure while in the menu. Not only that you can discard spells that
you don't want. There are a total of four spells per level, but a person can
only learn three.

STATUS MENU: Allows you to see the characters current stats like Strengths,
Intelligence and Magic Level.

FORMATION COMMAND: Allows you to move characters around in order. Remember
characters closer to the top have a better chance of getting hit.

CONFIG MENU: Opens up menu where you can change options like sound, text speed
and the background color.

SAVE COMMAND: Allows you to save your progressduh!

*-*Battle Mechanics*-*

Ok while in battle you have four options. Two of which open up other menus
allowing you to chose other commands. The commands are Attack, Magic, Items,
and Flee.

ATTACK COMMAND: Lets character do a basic attack. The stronger and quicker the
person the better the damage.

MAGIC COMMAND: Lets character cast a magical spell, but it drains MP. Also not
all characters can use magic.

ITEM COMMAND: Lets character use an item currently in the inventory. (see
items section for more details)

FLEE CONMMAND: Lets characters flee from battle, you cannot flee from bosses.

Aside to these commands characters also have Health Points (HP) and Magic
Points (MP) When a person takes damage their HP will lower, if HP reaches 0
the person is KOed. They must revived with a spell, a phoenix down, or at a
Sanctuary. Use cure spells or potions to restore HP. MP allows you to cast
magical spells, MP lowers as you use spells. Lets say a spell cost 30MP and
you only have 27 then you cannot cast that spell. Use ethers or go to INNs to
replenish MP.

6. Soul of Chaos
==============================================================================

What is the Soul of Chaos? Well it's a new set of dungeons, four in all, that
SquareEnix added for Re-re-release of this game. Its brand new, and wasn't
even added into Final Fantasy Origins, the first re-release of Final Fantasy
I. What this section will cover is the locations of each Dungeon, the Fiend
you must kill to open it and boss information. Each dungeon contains 4 bosses,
each from a past Final Fantasy game!

*-*Earthgift Shrine*-*

-Location, Opening and Information-

This is the first of the four SoC dungeons. Where is it located? Well its easy
to find. It's in a small cave located between the Chaos Shrine and Cornelia,
you can't miss it. To open it all you must do is defeat Lich in the Earth
Cave. Now this dungeon is only five floors downs, for information on each
floor set-up see the Soul of Chaos FAQ.

-Bosses-

This place has four bosses, all located on the fifth floor. Which means you
must go through 4 times to fight all of them. The bosses you encounter are
from FFIII.

--------------
BOSS: Echidna
--------------
HP: 4800
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: X-Potion
Location: Lower-right corner on BF 5.

So how do we beat this guy? Well having anti-death stuff helps, you also might
want to cast Null-Shock. Other then that, Haste and Temper your best attacker,
sue Healing Staffs, Rune Staffs, ect to heal your guys. Watch out for Flare
and Earthquake, but other then that its simple.

--------------
BOSS: Cerberus
--------------
HP: 4000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Kotetsu
Location: Lower-left corner on BF 5

Use the same stratify you did agenst Echidna. However, this one has no Flare!
He will physically hit you though so Protera and Invisira are good to use.

--------------
BOSS: Ahriman
--------------
HP: 5000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Dry Ether
Location: Upper-right corner

Well you know what to do at the start. But instead of Null-Shock, use Null-
Blaze, his Blaze attack is scary. Earthquake is another move to avoid. Unlike
every other SoC Boss Ahriman will Cure himself, which gives him about 200.
But with enough Hasting and Tempering you can do up to 1000 per hit.

-----------------------
BOSS: 2-Headed Dragon
-----------------------
HP: 4500
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Bard's Tunic
Location: Upper-left corner

This one here has a fricken powerful attack! But you can easily tame that by
casting Protera and the sexy status magic known as Slow! But that isn't enough
do Null-Blaze too! His attack will be the suckness. Heal and stuff, he'll
easily die. Make sure you do Slow, his attack will easily penetrate Protect.

*-*Hellfire Chasm*-*

-Location, Opening and Information-

Ah yes the seconded of the Chaos Dungeons. Where is it? Well its located on
one of the Dragon Islands! Its one of the lower islands, its very swampy.
There should be two caves to go in, it is the bottom one. In order to open it
simply defeat the Fire Fiend, Marilith. Finnaly this is a good 10 floors down,
with two monsters on the 5th floor, and two on the 10th.

Another thing about this dungeon is a floor that resembles the World Map. Now
there are a total a three variations of this floor. In order to get out of
them you must locate the ship then find the pirate, Thuole. Then finally
locate a desert with a palm tree, you can get the airship. By getting the
airship you can easily search for exit which is similar looking to the Dragon
Caves or the Marsh Cave entrance.

-Bosses-

----------------------
BOSS: Scarmiglione 1
----------------------
HP: 4000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: none
Location: Upper room on floor 5.

Just attack this guy and do Null-Shock, any party over 30 can take care of
him.

----------------------
BOSS: Scarmiglione 2
----------------------
HP: 7046
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Lunar Curtin
Location: After fighting form 1 he appears.

Now he's gotten a lot harder. Instead of thunder he'll do Thunderbolt, cast
Null-Shock as soon as possible! Also Poison Gas is a deadly move, around 300-
500 a person. Healega is needed, and maybe some Rune weapons too. Haste and
Temper are needed for the easy win here! Oh and for an added bonus, this guy
is weak to Dia and Fire.

----------------
BOSS: Cagnazzo
----------------
HP: 7968
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Light Curtin
Location: Lower room on floor 5.

Even though the big guy is weak to lightning, his defense is way to good. Also
he can do Tsunami, a deadly, deadly move! However his regular attack is weak,
from 100-200. Cast Thundaga with a good Black Mage/Wizard. The Haste/Temper
strategy is also a good idea. Healega will save you here too, abuse it the
entire fight!

------------------
BOSS: Barbariccia
------------------
HP: 12945
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Braveheart
Location: Eastern room on floor 10.

Even though her regular attack is pretty decent, she can be stopped with
Slowra, but don't rely on it. She can also petrify you, which sucks the big
one! Her special move is Cyclone, a wind based move which is the same strength
as Cagnazzo's Tsunami. As usual do Haste/Temper and Healega. Provided you have
a lot of HP this is an easy fight.

-----------------
BOSS: Rubicante
-----------------
HP: 15000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Kikuichimonji
Location: Western room on floor 10.

This guy is a bit harder the Barbariccia, but his special is Fire based, do
Null-Blaze to weaken it. Also the move Scorch can do about 200 to a protect
person. His regular attack is 400, Protera will help out. Again Haste/Temper
and abuse Healega. Again having high HP can help.

*-*Lifespring Grotto*-*

-Location, Opening and Information-

This is the FF5 dungeon. Here you will find Omega and Shinryu, two of the
hardest bosses in the game. Seriously, no joke. Anyway you can find this
dungeon in a whirlpool near Melmond. You can go in once you beat Kraken,
seeing a pattern?

Here there is a total of 20 floors, a boss on floor 5, one on floor 10 and two
on floor 20. Oh and I usually do this place after Whisperwind Cove, that way I
have Ultima Weapon. Omega and Shinryu are that hard, I tried six times before
I beat one of them!

-Bosses-

-----------------
BOSS: Gilgamesh
-----------------
HP: 8888
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Genji Gloves
Location: Only boss on floor 5. However you must talk to the mermaids in order
to find him.

Honestly this guy is like Garland, a total pushover. Just cast Protera to
lower his attack down to like 200ish. His special attack is weak1 damage no
joke! Cast Haste/Temper on fighters and Heal if needed.

---------------
BOSS: Atomos
---------------
HP: 13000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Judgment Staff
Location: Floor 10.

Atomos is one the stranger of the FF5 bosses. His regular attack isn't that
bad, around 150-250. But his move wormhole can instantly kill a character,
make sure to have Protect Rings. He might do Firaga, cast Null-Blaze to be
safe. And his last special move is comet, which will do around 400-500. Other
then that just do the Haste/Temper strategy and Heal when needed.

-------------
BOSS: Omega
-------------
HP: 35000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Mursame
Location: Western room on floor 20.

This one here is by far a hard one, the lowest I've beaten him at was Lv53.
His regular attack can do 500-750+. Also Wave Canon can do about 250 to
everyone. Earthquake is his other move, anti-death things are good here. Now
since Omega's defense is way to high cast Invisira a lot on the group. Heal
also when you need it! With Omega's attack lowered now you must do the usual
Haste/Temper route. If you want use Judgment Staffs and do Thunder moves.

---------------
BOSS: Shinryu
---------------
HP: 35000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Rangork
Location: Eastern room on floor 20.

This boss here will cast Flare on you, having a WW to do Healaga is essential.
Also he has Tidal Wave, and tow elemental attacks, Thunderbolt and Icestorm.
Finally his regular attack does around 400-500. Cast Null-All for a first
move. Like I said with your WW do Healaga every single turn! Since Shinryu's
defense is lower then Omega's Haste/Temper is better for this fight. With a
good 600+ HP per person you can live, but Flare may kill a BW or even a Master
in one blow. Full-Life is another good spell to have.

*-*Whisperwind Cove*-*

-Location, Opening and Information-

This is the fourth of the Chaos Shrines! In order to open it you must of
course beat Timat! But this one is a bit harder to get tonot! Just land
somewhere near the Ice Cavern and find the cave located at the dead end of a
tributary of the river.

Here you will fight four FF6 bosses, none of which are as hard as Omega or
Shinryu. This is a whopping 40 floors, but you can find two INNs, and even
shops! Also on one floor you'll find fairies that either hurt or heal you!

-Bosses-

--------------
BOSS: Typhoon
--------------
HP: 10000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Genji Helm.
Location: Floor 10

This guy here is harder then most people think. Well not really, only because
of his Snort move which instantly kills a character. But his regular attack
only does 250, that's all he has. Temper/Haste, Heal and Life and the easiest
boss in the SoC will die.

-------------
BOSS: Ultros
-------------
HP: 17000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Rune Staff
Location: Floor 20

Ultros has a very nasty regular attack, maybe around 550-800. Also is move is
Ink, that actually works unlike Kraken's Ink. In order to survive his attack
cast Protera and Invisira a lot! Once his attack is tamed go by the
Haste/Temper route, and of course Heal when needed. Also just like in FF6
Ultros is weak to Fire and Lighting, but its not worth taking advantage of.

---------------------
BOSS: Phantom Train
---------------------
HP: 9999
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Megalixir
Location: Floor 30; find the teleporter in the center of town to reach him.

Unlike most SoC Bosses PT doesn't do Death. However its attack does an average
of 600. Its special move is Acid Rain, it can do 300 damage so Heal in-
between. Cast Invisira a lot if you wish, and do the Haste/Temper route.

------------------
BOSS: Death Gaze
------------------
HP: 30000
Gil: 0
EXP: 0
Drops: Lightbringer
Location: Floor 40

DG's attack, accuracy and defense are ridicules. Cast defensive spells all you
want. The Haste/Temper method is essential, but its still a terribly hard
fight. However this boss doesn't have simply dominate moves like Omega or
Shinryu. Since his attack is weak Healing isn't as essential, but its still
needed. This will be a long battle, but once you win you can find Ultima
Weapon in the next room!

7. Challenges
==============================================================================

-Low Level-

Difficulty: ***

This is one of the harder challenges of FF1! The object is to beat the game at
the lowest level possible. That means run from annoying battles, fight bosses,
and get only strong enough the barely win. This is in my opinion an easy
challenge if you know bosses and their weaknesses.

-No Class Change-

Difficulty: *

This is without a doubt the easiest challenge. The point, don't class change,
that's it. The only down side is slightly lower stats, low magic defense and
no Lv8 spells (Lv7 for RM) But however most of those spells suck so its ok.
Honestly this challenge is no problem, a beginner can do it.

-Solo Character-

Difficulty: ****

Definitely the harder of some challenges. The point, pick one character in
specific, the other can be random, kill them off BEFORE you fight Garland.
Beat the entire game with this one person. The only plus side is you'll have
more Gil and you can level up a bit faster. Any experienced FF Fan can
complete this challenge.

-Solo Class-

Difficulty: ** to ****1/2

The difficulty of this one is all based on what Class you choose. If you get
four Thrives then it's pretty easy but four WMs, now that's hard! You must
choose four people of the same class and beat the game with them.

-Mega Hard Death Challenge-

Difficulty: *****+

Oh yeah a 5+ difficulty rating! The purpose of this one? Solo character, No
Class Change, and Low Level! Can you do it? Few can say yes! Not even I have
completed thisdo your best! If you do complete this please let me know, but
be honest.

-8-Bit Challenge-

Difficulty: ****1/2

This challenge is completely inspired by 8-Bit Theater! It's pretty much a no
class change (for now). However you can only take a Warrior, Thief, Red Mage
and a Black Mage. Wait there's more; you must also get as many spells as
possible for your RM. However you can only use a total of 9 spells before an
INN, Tent, Cottage or Ether. Your BM can only have 1 spell at a time! Lets say
you buy Fire, that's it! Only Fire, until you find a better spell of course.
Once you find a better spell you must discard your old spell. One more catch,
you can use the BM's spell once. You can reuse after staying at an INN, using
a Tent or Cottage, or when you use an Ether. Finally no Temper/Haste, these
guys hate each other, RM wouldn't use a spell to help Fighter/Thief.

Enjoy!

8. Secrets
==============================================================================

-Ship Game-

Once you obtain the ship hold A and press B 22 times to open a min-game. I
will study the game and come up with a nice guide to it soon.

-Peninsula of Power-

If you head south from Pravoka, turn east between the mountains. Then go north
between the west coast and some more mountains. Soon you'll reach a 3x2
peninsula. If you go to the top 2x2 section you'll fight really strong
monsters that you find near Gaia, and places like that.

-HomestarRunner.com?-

Not really a cheat, but on the floor in Hellfire Chasm with all the people
saying things like, "Go away" there is one man that says "All trespassers will
be burninated."

-Tiamat, One hit kill-

If you're lucky enough and if you have Scourge cast it on Timat and she may
die in one hit. (Only on the Flying Fortress)

-Hall of Monsters-

In the Earth Cave if you head to the northwest corner there is a long corridor
that loops around. Each time you take a step you will fight a group of giants,
like Hill Gigas or Trolls.
