1.05 - Tweaked the thank-yous and the intro.
1.04 - Tweaked the legal info. at the start.
1.03 - Forgot about Funky's Banana Bird! Whoops! Put that in, too. Also I
tweaked some little errors here and there.
1.02 - Added some ASCII art to the Faq. Put in my email.
1.00 - Added the last 4 Banana Birds. One I forgot to do, the others need
the gyrocopter. Added some copyrights and legal stuff.

2) Introduction
===========================================================================
Hi, this is Kowbrainz. You probably haven't heard of me before, probably
because this is one of my first FAQs on GameFAQs. I wrote this guide mainly
for those people out there who like to cheat, but also for those who wish
to beat the game with as high percentage as possible. Enjoy!

3) Required Moves
===========================================================================
Before reading ths FAQ, there are a few required moves you need to learn.
These are fairly easy, no where near as hard as Kiddy's Water Skip Move.
Here they are:
Number One: Dixie's Helicopter Spin
-------------------------------------
Perform this straight-forward move by jumping with the A button, then
holding B and either left or right to spin to new areas.
Number Two: Kiddy's Rolling Jump
-------------------------------------
This can sometimes be used as an alternative for Dixie's Helicopter Spin.
Simply run towards the edge of a platform, then tap the B button. After
rolling a fair distance, but before losing too much height, press and hold
A and hold the direction you want to go.
Number Three: Team Up Throw (Dixie)
-------------------------------------
This is the hardest of the three moves, but is quite simple to master anyway.
Switch so that you control Kiddy, then tap the R button. Dixie will jump onto
Kiddy's shoulders. Here's the harder bit: jump up with Kiddy,then tap B.
Immediately afterwards,hold the up button. Dixie will fly skywards to any
secrets. You can also hold a direction to make her jump that way.

4) Warp Barrels
===========================================================================
Here's where I explain to you where to go for those Warp Barrels. For those
of you you don't know what a Warp barrel is, it is an invisible barrel
hidden somewhere at the start of a level. Once found, the barrel will take
you directly to the end of the level. However, a note for all those
freeloaders out there, you can't 'Warp' for ever, as the barrels only appear
in the first two stages.

4AA) Lake Orangatanga
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first stage in the game. The levels here should be easy enough, even
without the help of the Warp.

4AB) Lakeside Limbo
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grab some life balloons- you'll need them for the boss. They are located on
top of the first two shelters (right above you). Throw Dixie up there to
get them.
On to the Warp Barrel. Grab the first DK barrel of the level, then head to
the ledge on the left. Throw dixie up, then to the left. You'll pick up an
invisible Bear coin before finding the Warp Barrel.

4AC) Doorstop Dash
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep going until you find the suspended wooden platform, just before the
letter O. Jump with Kiddy from the right-hand side of the platform, then
throw Dixie up into the Barrel.
When you get to the end, change to dixie and helicopter spin below you to
grab a life balloon, and the end of level flag.

4AD) Tidal Trouble
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Throw Dixie onto the shelter to get the steel keg and throw it behind Koin
to get the DK coin. Now jump into the water on the right. After seeing the
DK Barrel and swimming past the red coco in the water, switch to Kiddy and
jump onto the wood in the middle of the water. Now throw Dixie up and to
the left, revealing the hidden 'W' Barrel.

4AE) Skidda's Row
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep running until you find the first house with a Skidda running on it.
Kill him, then either roll jump or helicopter spin to the left to find the
Warp Barrel.

4AF) Murky Mill
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably the easiest of the Warp Barrels, jump onto the lift to the right
of where you start. Once at the top, toss Dixie up into the very left
corner.

4BA) Kremwood Forest
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second stage of the game. Only a few more Warp Barrels and you'll be on
your own!

4BB) Springin' Spiders
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A rather easy-to-find Warp, simply jump onto the second spider and onto the
platform above it. Now do a roll jump across into the space below the next
platform to reveal another Warp Barrel.

4BC) Riverside Race
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably the hardest Warp Barrel to get, dodge the swarm of bees whilst
trying to throw Dixie up and above the first pond of water. This gets the
best time in PAL versions, but sadly will only get you a time of 59.59.99 in
the American version of the game.

4BD) Squeels on Wheels
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another easy Warp. simply hit the sneek with a barrel to open the roller
door, then toss dixie up into the left corner just outside the door.

4BE) Barrel Shield Bust Up
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Warp Barrel takes an age to find. Compared to the others, anyway.
When you come to the two green buzzes circling a banana bunch,go right
and down the hole in the floor. Immediately hold left on the control pad.
You'll go straight past an invisible blast barrel to find the Warp Barrel.

4BF) Bobbing Barrel Brawl
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here you have it. You've come to the very last Warp-Barrel-Stage.
Roll under the red Buzz and stop. Throw Dixie up to the right of the Booty
Bird to find the last Warp Barrel.

5) Cheat Codes
===========================================================================
There are a whole new batch of cheat codes in this game, but sadly none of
them really work to your advantage. Just like all DK games, I guess they
want to give you a challenge.
Enter the following codes at the 'Cheats' section in the Options menu.
AQUA - Gives you all the Bonus Coins
EXTRAS - Makes the minigames throughout the game accessible via the menu
HARDER - Takes away all the Star Barrels
KREDITS - Lets you view the staff credits roll
MONKEY - Start the game with 50 lives
MUSIC - Sound Test
TUFFER - Takes away all the DK barrels AND continue barrels. Finish the
game with this cheat enabled to get 105%.

6) Banana Birds
===========================================================================
Banana Birds are just there t give you an extra challenge in the game. To
achieve 103%, you must collect all banana birds (this includes getting all
the DK coins, too). Otherwise they are not needed to finish the game.
There are 4 ways of finding a bird- either finish Swanky's Dash minigame
with 90 or more stars, beat Cranky's Training, trade for items from the
Brothers Bear or find them in Banana Bird Caves, which is the general way
of finding them. When you come across a B.B cave, simply repeat the memory
process to unlock the bird. Or you could write down the order - either way.

B.B.1: Bounty Beach
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as you start the game, go up to Funky's rentals and hire the
motorboat. Now take it just to the right of Funky's into the cove.

B.B.2: Smuggler's Cove
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
After beating Doorstop Dash in Lake Orangatanga, swim into the lake and up
past the two jettys. Go up to the very top near a thin stretch of beach
and press A until you find this Banana Bird Cave.

B.B.3 Bachelor Pad
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will need 20 Bear coins and the hovercraft for this Banana Bird. First
go to Bachelor in Lake Orangatanga and get his flower. Then go to Bramble's
Bungalow (Next to Mekanos and Cotton Top Cove). Trade the flower for his
rose. Now go down near Wrinkly's to Bazaar's General Store and buy his box
of chocolates for 20 bear coins. Finally return to Bachelor to trade for
his Banana Bird.

B.B.4 Arich's Hoard
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get a time of under 1.15.00 on the Riverside Race (Perhaps use the Warp
Barrel) then talk to Brash. His anger is so great it knocks a log down the
river, unlocking a secret banana bird cave.

B.B.5 Kong Cave
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
After beating Arich and getting the hovercraft off Funky, zoom off to the
place you started the game from and up past the rocks to this Banana Bird
Cave.

B.B.6 Bounty Bay
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Cottontop Cove, swim north of Bazza's Blockade and just East of the
waterfall to find this secret Banana Bird Cave.

B.B.7 Undercover Cove

After getting the Jetski from Funky, go up the waterfall next to Kong Cave
and onto the beach on the right.

B.B.8 Bramble's Bungalow

After giving Bramble the flower from Bachelor and relieving him of the
destructiveness coming from Mekanos, talk to Bramble and he will give you
his banana bird.

B.B.9 Glacial Grotto

Just left of Blizzard's Basecamp in K3 is where you'll find this
Banana Bird.

B.B.10 Skyhigh Secret

Go to Blizzard's Basecamp in K3 and he'll give you a present for his friend,
Blue's birthday. Take it to Blue in Cotton Top Cove. He'll open it, but as
he can't really do anything with a bowling ball, he'll give it to you. Take
the ball to Brigadier Bazooka Bear in Mekanos and he'll fire you into Sky
high secret.

B.B.11 Clifftop Cache
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
First off, purchase the mirror from Bazaar for a whopping 50 bear coins.
Then take it to Barter in K3 and trade it for the wrench. Take the wrench
to Bjorn in Razor Ridge to get his chairlift back and working. The lift
will take you to Clifftop Cache.

B.B.12 Barnacle's Island
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buy the shell from Bazaar and then trade for Barnacle's Banana Bird in
Pacifica.

B.B.13 Whirlpool Wreck

Swim north of Barbos' Barrier in Pacifica to find this Banana Bird Cave.

B.B.14 Sewer Stockpile

In Kaos Kore, swim a figure eight around the two rocks in the water
(starting from the top of the left rock).

After getting all of the DK coins, go to Funky to get the Gyrocopter. Go
down to the very south-west corner of the Northern Kremisphere to find
Belcha's Burrow.

B.B.16 Hilltop Hoard

Fly up to the North-east corner of the map with the Gyrocopter to find
hilltop hoard.

Using the Gyrocopter, fly up just above Pacifica to find the last Banana
Bird Cave.

Smash away all of the Bristles' with Cranky to get this Banana Bird.
