Question for The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

I have completed the first dungeon and I have traded many kinstone pieces but I now don't know how to get the green liquid to pour onto the bean how do I do this? and at this stage in the game should I have omre than just the boomerang and the gust jar?
