After you get the ocarina of wind a wind crest will appear by lake Hylia. Fly there and there should be a stump you can use to shrink down. Do it, then the enter small orange minish home, talk to the minish inside then, Presto! The library is open.

This doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive tried doing this but the guard is still blocking the library

no it works, i just did it, you did something wrong, and its not a guard, its an old guy, if its a guard carrying a axe then you did it wrong, and make sure your in the town, your not trying to get in the castle here
