On the Lonely Mountain, looking for the secret entrance.

I come to a point where I have to quickly jump across a gap on two stone blocks which crumble immediately.

On the NEXT screen there is another gap to cross and what looks like a log hanging from a rope.

Can anyone tell me how to get across?

Did I miss something which starts the log swinging or something to that effect?

You have to throw a stone at it which will cut the rope.
