When inside the worm, how do you past the sea urchin looking things that stick to you and take your health? Do they mean I've gone the wrong way? Please help.

No, it doesn't. I tried this; Press a,b,l,and r while pressing the controlpad in different directions.

I've only ever managed to pass through them when there is that temporary invincibilty power up but there's one point where I absolutely need to go through them to get a piece of the airplane, and I have nothing to work with. I'll try bob360's method and pray it works.

All you have to do is when they are on spongebob press the left and right arrows on the control pad back and forth as quickly as possible and they vanish.
