Question for Pokemon Sapphire

Even though I've completed most of the game I have no idea what mirage island is I've heard some old man talk about it but I really want to know.
What is it?
How do you get to it?
Whats on it?

The man in pacific log town that normally says I can't see mirage island today will eventually say I can and take you there in his boat.the ways to get there are:

Every Pokemon you catch has a special number the games randomly draws out a number everytime you talk to him (note you must do it once a day because the number changes day by day)so don't try it a million times a day

Mirage island is just a rare island with rumors saying something about a tree ( which is actually in fire red) is there it has a triangle and it is a puzzle you have to solve to battle him
Also the only wild Pokemon there is wyanut and it has very rare berrys that you can only get there
