Question for Pokemon Sapphire

I caught a slakoth the other day and put it in the day care and when I got it back I evolved it. Then put it back in til it was level 42 then got it back and got it up a level and it started evolving but my friend told me to stop it from evolving because slaking is a bad Pokemon because it loafs around, so I did and now when I get it up a lvl it keeps starting to evolve

Give it an everstone, then it wont do that anymore, slaking is actually very incredably strong, except it's like the first form, attacks every other turn(loafs around)

It will keep trying to evolve unless you give it an Everstone. To find Everstones, keep catching Geodudes. They apparently have 10% cahnce of haveing a Everstone.
