Question for Pokemon Sapphire

Hi! I found something cool
I play this game in emulator so I can't do anything great...

I have gone to petalburb city and in Pokemon center was a guy near the computer, I said him "Mystery Event Is Exciting" and he said that now you are a member of ...(i don't know) and when I saved the game and reloaded it, under the NEW GAME option was one other called Mystery Event.
Please tell me if this is a glitch or something cool, because in emulator that thing won't work.
Tell me as soon as posible...

It's Mystery Event. You get items from another game with a game link, I think.
