A mark just IDs your pokemon. Put in any random pattern, and you cant get cheated in a trade. It doesn't matter what mark you put on it. And remember you can always take it off.

They do nothing, they just help you to remember whats what inside the box like if you wanna train some pokemon up, mark them, then you can leave and come back and still know what pokemon you wanna train up

Marks Can be used to basicially IDK WHAT THEY DO THATS WHY IM HERE
