Question for Pokemon Sapphire

The lady in the bottom-left hand sometimes says 'It looks like it wants to be babied'.

How would you baby a Pokemon?

Treat the Pokemon like it was the most important thing in the world to you, and that you revere it.

Really spoil it and give it all sorts of stuff, whether it be a Potion or whether it is a hold item. I don't know if my suggestion will help what you just said, though.

P.S. What does the sparkle that appears around shiny Pokemon that enter battle look like?
