Latias, where is she?

Question asked by jaydo_23 on

Latias, where is she?

Hey everyone. Well I am sort of stressed by trying to find (and capture) Latias. I've spent over 20 hours looking for her in Route 102 and 103 (while doing the Zigzagoon pick-up thing). I have a few questions I really need answers to so I can find Latias. Here they are:

1. Where did you catch Latias? Tell me the exact Route.

2. If you have caught it, how long did it take for you to at least find Latias?

3. Where is the best place to search for Latias? I'm talking about grass, water/cave or the Route.

Thanks to everyone who gives me any answers.

I really need an answer for the second question to give me hope.

1. Where did you catch Latias? Tell me the exact Route.

Route 117 (To the Left of Mauville City, the route with the Day care.)

2. If you have caught it, how long did it take for you to at least find Latias?

Roughly an hour, using a Lv. 39 Pokemon and a lot of super repels. Switch Routes or enter buildings to make Latias Move. I encountered her on Route 116 originally.

3. Where is the best place to search for Latias? I'm talking about grass, water/cave or the Route.
Latias catching strategy.

If you have not encountered Latias, Well, good luck finding her (It can be a real pain) I would suggest using a Pokemon that is around Lv. 30 with Repels, so you are not bothered whilst hunting. Look in any Route on the Left side of the Map (Rustboro side stc). Avoid looking in Caves, as Latias will not appear there. Just keep switching between two routes to get Latias to change location.I suggest spending either 2 Mins per Route or 10-20 Pokemon encounters (If you are not using Repels) Eventually, you should encounter Latias. Throw your Master Ball for an easy Capture.

If you have encountered Latias, Fly to Mauville City. Check Latias' location. Enter the Gym and exit. Check location again. Repeat those steps until Latias is close to you (1-2 routes away) and then go their and look in the grass for a bit. With luck, you should find Latias easily. Throw your Master Ball on sight.

If you do not have the Master Ball, Use a Wobbufett at around Lv. 35 - 50 to fight Latias. It will not be able to escape due to Shadow Tag, where I believe you can switch out with Shadow Tag still in effect. Lower Latias' Hp and throw an ultra ball when it is low. Status condtions really help here.

Hope that helps you

Zaltias.

The longest but best way to catch and find latias is to have a lvl 5o ( at least) party of crobats that learned mean look and have lots of ultraballs, timerballs, and some type of high potion. And to find latias is to use your pokedex to find it. ( only if you have encountered it )

YOU MUST FIRST BEAT THE ELITE FOUR .Where I've always found latias and latios in ruby and sapphire is just west of pacifilog. once you have encountered it, it will most likely run away unless you have mean look. after you encounter it, you can check it's location with your pokedex. It's easiest if you use a masterball on the first encounter. but if not, use mean look with a level 55 or higher crobat/golbat(otherwise it will not last very long, and latias/latios will run away), then if you can, inflict a special condition such as paralysis(IT CANNOT LOWER LATIAS/LATIOS' HEATH, SO NO BURN OR POISON, OR CONFUSION) It will make it easier to catch. then throw ultra balls. (if you don't have ultra balls, u screwed. One other thing, instead of having golbat/crobat, you could have flygon, because it has teh areana trap ability. latias doesn't know any dragon type moves at first, so keeping it in the battle should be a breeze.
mitsu answered:

Look, Latias (and latios) can be encoutered ANYWHERE outside. Not caves, not inside, not underwater, but in grass, and ponds and oceans whilst surfing. Knowing where someone else found it will not help you. Just keep looking and use a master ball to catch it when you find it.

I have played through sapphire, ruby and emerald all several times, and sometimes I have found it really fast and sometimes it takes ages... Like 20 hours or more! It is a chance encounter. Also in answer to your first question, each time I encountered latios or latias, it has been in a totally different spots, everywhere on the map. My advice just do circuits of the entire map... Latios will really only move when you move to a different part of the map... And when you go inside a building. A good strategy is to keep leaving and returning to one spot and searching around for a bit... This way you might encounter your lati easier.

Latias has the same chance of being anywhere... Use your masterball when you see it.

I hope these answers haven't disappointed you, but here's a link that may help you a little more than I can! Just keep searching. The Lati is there, you just have to find it!

That is serebii's pokedex entry for latias, cut and paste or copy and paste the link into your browser. This website is really informative and helps for tricky stuff like this!

I answered the same question here

evanescense_gossamer answered:

Hey, the Pokemon that you are looking for is found in mainly grass(well, at least for me). The VERY best(and only)way of catching it is to save your masterball until after you capture the Pokemon on Mirage Island. It takes a long time to find Latias. If you are searching for Latias or any legend Pokemon, then make SURE to save the game before encountering it. Such as, if you are in grass and looking, just save every now and then. This can help you if you try catching it and it runs from you, then you can just turn off the game without saving it, then it will start over like you never even saw the Pokemon before. And like the other people above me, there is absolutely NO specific spot to where Latias is. I hope that is helps you, because I have been playing Pokemon since I was old enough to read.

1. Where did you catch Latias? Tell me the exact Route.

Route 110.

2. If you have caught it, how long did it take for you to at least find Latias?

It took me quite some time. I had to encounter Latias seven times before I caught it.

3. Where is the best place to search for Latias? I'm talking about grass, water/cave or the Route.

Mauville routes, Mossdeep routes.

1. Where did you catch Latias? Tell me the exact Route. -Route 118. Just west of the Berry Master's house.

2. If you have caught it, how long did it take for you to at least find Latias?
-Hahahaha, 2 minutes. Lucky me.

3. Where is the best place to search for Latias? I'm talking about grass, water/cave or the Route. -She's anywhere. But my personal tip? I've heard this work for other people as well. Look for strange rain. Find a route where it's raining, but it shouldn't normally rain there. My case, it was raining at berry master's...it usually never does. When I noticed that, I flew to lillycove and came around the long way (surfing south of mt pyre) to go to the lake near his house, and surfed around. After about 8 encounters, I traveled west onto route 118, and walked around in that first patch of grass. She popped up after 1 or 2 encounters. And I freaked out Smile

i got really lucky and found her in the first patch of grass in route 101 as soon as i left my house.

You need to beat the Elite Four or complete the game before you get Latias or Latios.
Guest answered:

the place i fund latias was in rout 111 thats where he should be and to make it appear even more likely use sweet cent

Guest answered:

well i found latias at the sea and i hope you saved your master ball cause its the easiest way to catch her everyother pokemon without cheats can be caught with an ultra ball even rayquaza so i found her near the area between mosdeep and ever grande city near those routes btw use a repel cause latias will still attack even if u use repel so it will block every other pokemon but latias that may shorten the time it will take to catch her good luck btw you have to beat the pokemon league first if you did not already know that good luck happy searching its not easy but dont get excited i have her she sucks as a pokemon she is just cool looking

Hi,my name's Liam and I am 10 years old.
I'll tell you how I first ever found LATIOS on my
brothers ruby game.
Right lighsen up good.Okay I was looking for a green
mairill in route 117 and there he was!I tried to knock down some health and throw a ball, but what I
didn't know at the time was he could flee but then
it hit me,I cauht a trapinch and tried to find him.
What I didn't know that his efect was levitate so
arena trap did not work...After we tried Woubfafet
but after that we coulden't find him.I haven't beaten the pokemon leage on my sapphire game but I'll find him!
Oh I allmost forgot!Don't use the master ball on Kygore,Groudon or Raycuasa.Get them in the red zone
and put 'em to sleep,Freeze 'em or paralyze them(this works the worst)and then throw an ultra ball
(NOTE:this may not work on Raycuaza)
Okay thats all from me.
Thanks for reading!

Or you can just spam capture balls the moment you start the fight. Expensive and time taking, but there's no risk of fainting it. And when it starts using "struggle" spam Timer balls. Not recommened for Lati[o/a]s of course.

Alright well I know I am answering this really late but I had the same problem-Trying to find Latias but he wasnt showing up. I tried all sorts of stuff, and finally did this (once I tried this technique he showed up in like 10-20 minutes tops.)

I went to the store and bought 99 super repels...I then went to route 118 (the route where if you go to the right of mauville and then north where there are all the people hiding in the TALL grass). I then put my level 30 Tropius at the front of my line-up and used a repel. Since a repel only repels Pokemon below the level of your first Pokemon in your line-up, Latias will be the only Pokemon that you will find. After I activated the repel I walked back and fourth in the grass til the repel was gone...and then used another. After using two repels and finding nothing, I went into the house right to the north of the spot I was searching (it should have a ton of seagulls in it.) I went in, and then immediately out of the house. By doing this, you are Changing the spot Latias is currently roming, and eventually, he will roam where you are-So once you come out of the house, activate another repel, and get back to searching.

Do this and he should appear in the next hour or less!

Hope this Helped!!!!!

You can only find Latias AFTER you beat the Pokemon league. I was on my way to New Mauville when I ran into it. Once you encounter it DON"T USE FLY TO GET TO IT! Using fly will just make her run away. When you encounter it, throw a master ball on sight. If you don't have one, I suggest leveling up a golbat and using mean look. Then weaken it until you can snag it with an ultra ball.

Hope this helps.

Guest answered:

All you have to do really is check the pokedex and see if shes near you. If not go insie then com out and youll noticeher route changed. If shes near you don't FLY I can't emphasize that enough because itll make her change again walk swim whatever to get to her thn ya put her to sleep I used swablu then wabbofet to prevent escape thn widdled away at her health. After about 10 turns a timer ball works.

Danicos answered:

It is really random to encounter it. It is really luck, most people say mauwille, but I caught mine (A LAtias) today at route 128 while surfing. It is just, luck, but when you do meet it, you can track it on your pokedex and once you do, go there, and let the search begin! And don't worry abou using repels, it is not affected by it So just play your game, lvl up your Pokemon and have a masterball handy, or if you have a strong Pokemon try to calculate how much damage it may cause without killing it. Plus, the more it flees, you have another chance of getting a shiny. Also, having a Pokemon with an ability or attack that traps your precious Latios/Latias is... Just perfect. So don't get so down, I beat the elite 4 in 50 hours, and I didn't catch it until playing 91 hours of the game. So happy hunting! Smile

Danicos answered:

P.S. It doesnt really matter what Pokemon you encounter it with as far as I know. When I encountered mine, I was barely raising a pkrs nincada to pass on the infection and woop!! There she is!

Danicos answered:

Oh I completely forgot to mention why you encounter it with weaker pokemon. I meant to add that it is random and may take some time WHEN using repels and having a Pokemon under lvl 40 as the starter! It will be hard, but this way it is much easier and faster to find it.Plus, that is why Wobbufet is so good to use because it knows counter and if/when he goes down you can switch out, but really you should only use Wobbuffet or crobat if you already used up you master ball(s) because Latias/Latios first instinct is to flee. I'm sorry for leaving that out

I found wild latias very fast..here my trick
Fly to slateport city and then walk to route 110 You will see the grass and houses that can only be traversed by bicycle and a person dressed in green
Use the Pokemon below level 30 and use Repel just walk in the grass.if you have not managed to go into the house who only traveled by bicycle and go out again. Repeat the above steps

Sorry my bad english just using translator

When I had beaten Ruby version a long time ago (before 2005), I encountered Latios . Latias /Latios do not have a certain specific area where they are caught. It's like trying to encounter raikou , entei , or suicune (FireRed and LeafGreen). You never know where they are, but you know they're there. So I recommend going to a route that connects directly with another route (such as Routes 111 and 112, or 118 and 119). They are very hard to catch (unless you have a Master Ball) and encounter.

Guest answered:

Lati@s is really hrd to find, but I recommend not looking for it. A moment ago I spent, like 10 hours looking for it on different routes and then I gave up. I saw it about 5 seconds later after I gave up! LOL! I caught it on the daycare route. Its now lv100.

Guest answered:

I give up. But I have to say most. People say it is next to the slateford bike plaace on route 110

Guest answered:

For me, I accidentally encounter her when I just took a Pokemon out of the daycare to evolve it and when I met her I was like 0.0

Guest answered:

I caught latias on route 118 with an ultra ball. It took me a longer time to catch it than to find it since I used my master ball on rayquaza. When finding latias I first got wobbuffet, the evolved wynaut from the egg from the old lady at the hot springs. I had it at level 43. Because wobbuffet's special effect, latias could not run away. To hurt latias down to red, I used the moves mirror coat, and counter. To find latias for the first time you really have to just put in time. I found it the first time to the east of mauville past the berry master. Just keep walking around the grass around mauville until you eventually find it. Once you've seen it your pokedex will tell you what area it is in but every time you go to a new route or fly or go in a house it moves locations. Keep switching between routes until it is in your area then use a repel with wobbuffet in the grass, then it is pretty easy to find. While battling it, it uses the moves physic, mist ball, refresh, and water sport. Use mirror coat or counter to hurt it. I caught it while it was in red but still awake and healthy. Have plenty of pokeballs to tire it and ultra, great or timer balls to catch it.

I stuck to the water routes to find the damned thing in the place; surfing from route 132 (west of pacifidlog) to lilycove city with a lv30 + super repels yields 9 location changes (ignoring route 126/sootopolis and route 125/shoal cave. The path is relatively straight, and transport is quick due to surf speeds. After that, the hard work of chasing it with the pokedex begins. I found that it tends to gravitate to routes 132-4, routes 119-21, and route 111. However, it is a random generation, so perseverance is as important as being able to predict it's whereabouts.

Guest answered:

I found mine at route 117 it took a while (20 min or so) The best way it´s changing routes or enter a house. I found latias grass and latios at a water pond same route off course two different games. (I played emerald version)

souleaterxx answered:

You should also bring a Pokemon with the move false swipe because you cn use it without worry of beating it because false swipe never beats the Pokemon it will just lower the health the the most critical personally I use the Pokemon shedinja because it's wonderguard blocks all attacks eccept attacks that are super effective against it like dark ghost and rock if you don't know how to get a shadinja you just have to evolve a nincada and make sure to have an open slot with an empty pokeball when the nincada evolves check your Pokemon and there should also be a shedinja

Guest answered:

what I did was save my master ball, then I got tons of max repels, and got a Pokemon that uses sweet scent I then went to route 121 (might not be the same for you) and used the max repels and then used sweet scent, I got it on my first try.

P.s while using sweet scent you'll most likely get lots of Pokemon, so sometimes it seems that the repels don't work, just keep trying, and remeber to try different areas, a Pokemon that uses sweet scent is Tropius.

Its alright, Latias can be tracked down easily. Once you have seen latias, you can see where she is when you look for her in your pokedex. Be careful, if you kill her there is no going back. Also, she will flee at any moment she can get. I reccomend using golbats' s scary face to trap her.

Guest answered:

Hi! Latinas is a wandering Pokemon you can get after you beat the elite 4. That means it moves from route to route. I'd suggest you go to the north of slate port and below the entrance of cycling road to the patch of grass in between. Put a level 30-39 Pokemon in the front of your team and get a bunch of repels. Then, track through the grass about 20 steps, then go to the entrance of cycling road and come back out to the patch of grass again. Repeat the process until you encounter it. The first thing it will do is run, so use your master ball or a Pokemon with mean look so it doesn't run. Catch it any way you'll like! I hope this information helps you!
