Question for Pokemon Ruby

I wish there was a ruby/sapphire question page, for these questions are for both, but it's going on ruby.

Questions:

1.I'm planning on getting either ruby or sapphire. In my gold, I only need pokemon that are only in silver to fill my pokedex (including celebi, but don't worry about it). Can anyone tell me which game has ALL of these pokemon?:

Ledyba
Skaromy ( I forget how to spell it)
Delibird
Phanpy

Others that could help but are not required:

Ledian
Donphan

2. How well are some of the old pokemon game ideas represented, and how good are new or fixed ideas brought into these games? (I expect a good solid answer)

1) Sadly, you can't trade pokemon from Ruby or Sapphire to any other version except themselves. However, you can catch Skarmory, Phanphy, and Donphan in both Ruby and Sapphire.

Which probably doesn't matter to you. If you really want to fill up your Pokedex on gold just get silver version or crystal version and do it that way.

2) Now, to tell you about these new versions...
It's almost the same as the old versions. You still get to choose your gender as well as a grass, fire, or water Pokemon to start out with, you still have a rival (actually you kinda have 2...), and you still have to beat an elite team of 4 (or technically 5) trainers at the very end.

However, there are some significant changes. For instance, you have to face a legendary Pokemon in your game. There's no way to avoid it. Depending on which version you get, you will either face Groudon or Kyogre.

You kindof have the same thing in Crystal though, what with Suicine and all, but still...

Another change... the starting pokemon you can choose will have two types when they evolve, except for Treeko, who will remain just grass even when he evolves. Torchic will change into both fire and fighting, and Mudkip will get the ground type as well as water.

Speaking of fighting with Pokemon, you can also battle with two Pokemon at once! If you see two people standing right next to each other, go up and talk to them. Most of the time they will challenge you to a battle. In this case, you will send out two of your Pokemon, the first and second in your list.

The battle techniques are basically the same, except the effects of some moves are different. Most moves only effect one Pokemon. However there are some moves (such as the Pokemon's special ability) that effect the two opponent pokemon, as well as some moves, such as Earthquake, That effect all the other Pokemon on the field, including your own.

Here's my favorite change... the PC boxes. In the older versions it was always a hassle to change boxes and move pokemon around, but in Ruby and Sapphire you have the power to organize your boxes as well as your Pokemon completely in around 5 minutes.

Right now I have numbered boxes, like a Pokedex, and am trying to have every single Pokemon in them. You can even change the wallpaper to your box!

It's kindof hard to imagine now, but when you get the game (and I strongly recommend you get Ruby, as the legendary Pokemon Latios is stronger than Latias. Don't ask. Yet)
you'll understand.

A new idea brought into the game... Pokemon contests. Pokemon contests have many categories you can participate in, which include smartness, cuteness, toughness, coolness...etc.

All moves that your pokemon can learn fall into one of the categories of contest types (kinda hard to explain now, you'll understand if you get the game). Also, you have berries that you can pick, just like in gold or silver.

Each berry can make a certain type of Pokeblock (Pokemon candy) when it is blended. Depending on what pokeblock you feed your pokemon, it will raise it's smartness, toughness, whatever. A pokemon contest has two parts... first, the audience votes on which of the four Pokemon has the most toughness, cuteness, etc. depending on which contest you decide to enter.

The one with the most of that specific condition will get more points, making it easier to win. The second part is known as appeal time. This is when you use the pokemon's moves that you've selected and try to impress the audience and the judge (you following up there?). For example, the move Fire blast is considered to be a beauty move.

If you've entered the beauty contest and use that move, you'll get more points then if you used it in a toughness contest. The person with the most points after all this stuff wins. That make sense? I hope so... if not, you'll get it when you get the game.

Also, in Ruby and Sapphire, there are a lot more legendary Pokemon to catch. Instead of five like in gold and silver (or six if you count Celebi), you can catch a grand total of eight, except that you have to have both versions to catch them all, unlike Gold and Silver, in which all legendary Pokemon are eventually presented to you.

One more thing... the secret bases.
Now, in Gold and Silver you were allowed to decorate your room, right? Well, in Ruby and Sapphire you can make your own "secret bases," which are basically small little hide-outs located in rocks or trees. Using decorations you can buy in various locations around the map, you can decorate your base to your liking, as well as your room.

You may ask, "what's the point in all this stuff?" Well, in the Pokemon center not only can you trade and battle, you can also mix records with other trainers. When you do so with another trainer, their secret base appears on your map. If you go to their secret base, not only can you wander around their bases, but you can also battle the other trainer as many times as you want, just once a day.

The Pokemon they use are the same ones they have in their party when they are mixing records. Keep that in mind if you decide to mix records with another trainer.

You know, my hands are really starting to develop carpal tunnel syndrome, so I had better stop typing. Hope this helps!

Dude, don't worry about Gold and Silver. Their old and neither Ruby or Sapphire has these Pokemon.

Besides, you can't trade with Ruby and Sapphire with the older games. You must be talking about Pokemon Leaf Green and Red Fire. But if you insist on an answer, than here..........

1:Skarmory is very rare and can be found in the place where you collect ashes. Phanphy can be found in the Safari Zone and Donphan is the evolved form of it. The other Pokemon can't be found in these new games.

I'm not good at this kinda question. But I'll answer anyways.

2:Well basically they changed many things in these game. They have more better secret bases I these games and if you mix records you can battle your friend in his secret base excet the computer will be controlling his Pokemon.

There are much more rare Pokemon in these games than Gold and Silver. You have to find out the language of Brialle. I can't tell you anymore about the games, you'll find out yourself.

p.s. My suggestion, wait til Pokemon Leaf Green and Red Fire come out which is Sep 9'th.
