Ok if I have a trade cable will I be able to trade all my Pokemon from Pokemon red to Pokemon ruby?

If you mean Pokemon Red for Game Boy Color, then no.
If you mean FireRed, then yes, after you complete the Ruby and Sapphire quests.
No, beacause it's not possible to connect gameboy color games with gameboy advance games
The only games that are trade/battle,etc.-compatible with Pokemon Ruby are Sapphire, Emerald, and FireRed and LeafGreen, if you've established the special connection in FireRed/LeafGreen. If you're trading between two GB games with two GBA(SPs)s, then you'll need two GBA Game Link cables- plug the two purple ends into each other's purple blocks.
