Question for Pokemon Ruby

Is there such a place as mirage island? Because I check with the old man every time I get a chance to, but It's never there. Is it just a myth? Or is it real, if so how do you get there.

Yes. Mirage island is a real deal but it apears randomly,or use a cheat device to gte there.
