That happened to me and my friend, so we stopped trying for about a month, tried again, and it worked. It could also be a twisted wire on your gameboy, or the connecter.
You should use only a link cable but if you use a link cable it is broken
Well make sure you don't have a gbc plug in your gba and make sure to check
The main place of the link plug and make sure it's on gba it should work
That is what happened to me what you have to do is hold the cable back behin the gameboy with one hand thats what I did but then it didnt work no more so we got a new link cable.
That means you need to ethier wait for a few seconds, Make sure you have pressed A on both GBA's... Or blow in the link cable to make sure it's working correctly.
