Give it to a Pokemon.

dearboy answered:

To let your pokemon gain exp without battling let the pokemon hold it. Other than the old pokemon version which lets all your pokemon gain exp just by carrying it.

the-devil-dude answered:

Give the exp. share to any pokemon in your party and each time you battle with another pokemon with that pokemon in your party it gains experence.

PS: The pokemon with the exp. share doesn't have to battle.

magikarp dude answered:

If you want to train your Pokemon manually you should keep it in your bag. but if you want to evolve your pokemon faster or get it to a certain level faster give it to that pokemon.

(p.s. if you catch a weak pokemon you should put it at the top of your party and give it the Exp. share)

Cross Stinger answered:

Get a Pokémon to hold it; it will receive half the experience points from battle, with the battlers getting a divided share summing up to the other half.

It's not like the Exp All you get in Red, Blue, and Yellow.
