Question for Pokemon Ruby

I caught a voltorb in new mauville but it is blue instead of red and the place where it says it's name on the status page the writng is gold instead of white someone please tell me what this is?.

Congratulations! You have on your hands a shiny Pok�mon. They're rare and will be found among normal ones of its species.

It's what is called a shiny pokmon. The chances are around 1 to 8700. I suggest when you find one catch it. (but shiny Pokemon don't seem to be any different than normal since my shiny sharpedo is just as good as my normal sharpedo)

Its a shiny pokemon. A shiny Pokemon is a Pokemon that is a different collor than all the rest. And you caught one of the rarest once (no fair).

You have got yourself a shiny pokemon. They are EXREMELY rare. I have only caught one myself, but it was just a zigzagoon, nothing good like voltorb. Congratulations!
