Question for Pokemon Ruby

Why are all Volbeat male and all Illumise female? I've tried but I cannot get a male Illumise or a female Volbeat...please help my brother and me!!

No. There is only a male Volbeat and a female Illumise. But if your saying you want to breed...you breed a Volbeat with an Illumise to get a baby Volbeat/Illumise.

You can't get a male Illumise cause it is the same as Volbeat,which is the gender counterpart of Illumise.You can get neither a female Volbeat nor male Illumise by breeding.
