Every time I get to Stephen on the bridge and he gives me the devon scope..

Question for Pokemon Ruby

Every time I get to Stephen on the bridge and he gives me the devon scope, when I look in my bag it's not there, and when I go to the entrance to fortree gym and press A all it says is there is something invisible in the way or something like that. I can't use my devon scope. Why?

Maybe try looking in more than one section of your bag if you haven't already

If you've used too many AR codes on your game in the past, then this could be the result of one of the strange effects AR codes can have on your game (for example, on my Pokemon Firered, I used a cheat to get infinite HM's and TM's, but when I went into the TM case, the game just froze.) If you want to get further in your game, then I suggest trading all the Pokemon you value onto a friend's game and starting over on your game, WITHOUT using any cheats. Then, when you're ready, trade back all your Pokemon from your friend.
Of course, you might not have used any cheats at all, and your game might have a glitch or something.
