Question for Pokemon Ruby

Can somone give a list of good party Pokemon that you can catch early on (I don't mean your first pokemon)? I'm experimenting with which Pokemon are the strongest.

You should catch a corphish and make it evolve into a crawdaunt it's half dark and half water it has great attack power.

I STRONGLY recommend catching Bagon in Meteor Falls. He has a high attack and defense, and learns good moves. You'll be about a fourth into the game before you can get him, but his strength adds finesse to your party. Salamance, Gardevoir, Shiftry, Walord, Aggron and Altaria is a superb party that can be aquired a little over halfway through the game.
