How do I get Latios again if I accidently knocked him out?

Question for Pokemon Ruby

How do I get Latios again if I accidently knocked him out? I checked my Pokedex and it said Area Unknown.

Would I need to defeat the Elite 4 again or do I have to search for him again in the tall grass and sea?

Also how do I get to southern island?

Unfortunately, you will need to start your game again to get Latios; unless you saved it before you knocked him out, and didn't saveit again.

Bad news, I'm sad to say. Alternatively, you could trade with someone who has it, just for your pokedex.

I don't know how to get to Southern island; I haven't tried any of the ways out yet.

You're outta luck, dude.

Get an action replay and get the code for latios, cuz he's gone permanently.
