Question for Pokemon Ruby

I have more than one question for you.

1.When you are entering a code on the action replay, what does the M (NOTthe master code)
mean?

2.What is with the button and the switch at the top of my action replay? When I move the switch to the other side, the game just tells me to move it back.

3.What do the gold and silver shields do? I have been trying to beat the battle tower enough times, but I keep getting slaughtered by swamperts.

4.Why do some codes not work sometimes on a certain file? For example, the walk through walls code works on my ruby but not on my sapphire, but it does work on my brother's friend's ruby. It can't be anything on the file, because it does not work when I restart the game.

1. (m) is the master code. If you aren't talking about that, I can't think of what else you would be talking about.

2. I wonder about that too, there's nothing about them in the manual.

3. They are secret base decorations. Get a powerful grass or electric poke'mon or use the max stats poke'mon one code on your AR.

4. Easy, the code you happen to be using is for RUBY ONLY! You need to get the specific code for sapphire and put it on your AR.
