Question for Pokemon Ruby

I'm trying to get a new team because,my Pokemon are crap!

So, I was wondering,what types of Pokemon should I put in my team?

And, should I compose my team of one of these types?

If I should, I was thinking of half types like Lanturn or Sharpedo,would that work good?

NORMAL
FIRE
WATER
ELECTRIC
GRASS
ICE
FIGHTING
POISON
GROUND
FLYING
PSYCHIC
BUG
ROCK
GHOST
DRAGON
DARK
STEEL

P.S. I just put all the types down so you could choose from your favourite.

How about a team of rare/powerfuls/dragons =D ??

Latios for SP offense
Latias for SP defense
Salamance for some raw sweeping power
Rayquaza just to double your ego
Metagross for its nice physical stats and type (and looks)
and a kingdra for that incinvible team member =D

Haha... thats a nice team.... ... ... hard to raise but

Btw, half types are double edged swords, for example charizard takes 4X damage from rock attacks becoz both of its dual types are weak to rock attacks... so becareful, figure out their strengths n weaknesses, swampert is cool tho coz it's types cancel out each others weakness =D
