No I'm not an uber noob at this but my SP broke just got a DS and it's been a few months since I played so I still have my Emerald profile but I restarted on Ruby for something to do and don't remember if it's the old rod or one of the others thats required to catch Corphish? Pleas and thank you.

It's the Super Rod,man.
Just fish in that little water area in Route 117.

It doesnt matter use the super rod or great rod is you use super youll get a higher lv.hope this helps
With the Super Rod, you have a higher chance of getting a Corphish. You can also use a Great Rod but you have a lower chance an dit will bee a lower level. So yeah, the Super Rod is the way to go.
