Ok so I just started a new game on a friends game. Every time I go to batttle Brenden I use my Combuskin. I defeat his first Pokemon, and he sends out Marshstomp. I always get defeated. All he does is use mud shot on me like 2 or 3 times. I don't get it because my Combuskin is a level 24 and Marshstomp is a level 20.

Ok fire is week against ground attacks right so it does double damage so you ether catch a Pokemon that can beat marshtop or make your Combuskin a level 30-40. Remember this always "Level and strength isn't everything." I recomend a grass Pokemon against marshtop.
You should only use double kick or peck
To beat him don't use fire type moves that
Much
Hears what you gota do : You should catch a grass type and train it until it
Gets strong, or you could bye several revives.
Fire is weak against grounf type moves, try levelling up one of your other Pokemon. For example a grass or electric type, so that they are strong against Marshstomp.
Like everyone said fire is weak to ground So what I would do is catch a grass type Pokemon and levil it up to about level 18 so you can beat brandon
OH, hun....level has nearly nothing to do with it...I've seen a level 5 Pokemon bring down a level 100...So here's what you can do. Go to slateport's market, and by as many stat-enhancers you can afford, and load them into your combusken. After that, train, train, train! Fire may be weak to ground/water, but if you train hard enough, you can beat it..And if not, if you have a Lotad/Seedot/Oddish, I suggest you train them, and work on pounding that Marshtomp. Also: Electric types will fail against Marshtomp, seeing as it's half ground-type, and can kill quickly with a swift earthquake. I hope this helped, and Good luck. :D
