How can I get experience points besides battling and rare candies??

You can't get any experience points with out battling or Rare Candies.

Put a pokemon in the daycare center and walk around.

Man that is lazy! But I am here to help:

Apart from battling and rare candies (which actually boost levels not exp points) you could use an exp share but you need to battle for that to work.

You could also visit the daycare on the route left of Mauville city. Leave your Pokemon there and walk about a bit. Come back and for every spet you take your pokemon would have gained 1 exp point. The down side of this is that it costs 100 for every level gained.If no levels are gained then it cost 100 anyway!
