How do you change leaders? Because I skipped the part in the game that same that. I beat rayquaza and Evolved my starter. But How do you change leaders?

Just go to someones friend area, talk to him and select join team then talk to him again and say make leader
Additionally, you can switch leader in several dungeons by selecting Team>[Pokemon Name]>Leader.

It worked for me
1. Go left of your base and choose the Pokemon you want to visit
2. Talk with the Pokemon and select JOIN TEAM
3. Talk to the Pokemon again and select this time MAKE LEADER
This should change the starter leader of your pokemon
