Question for Pokemon LeafGreen

I have a super-powerful Dodrio. The only types that tear it up are Rock, Ice, and Poison. Now it's only at level 43, but it kicks a**. At lv. 36, it killed Koga and his minions with a little help from a lv. 25 Vaporeon! Same thing with Blaine, at lv. 39. I don't think it's ready for any more biggie battles. How can I get a lot of rare candies at one time to level it up? It likes me a lot, and I give it stat-raising items, but it's stats kinda suck. Here:
Dodrio: Name: Chase(male)
TIMID nature
Met in ROUTE 17 at level 28
HP:119
Attack:100
Defense:77
Sp. Attack:60 (I don't worry about this too much)
Sp. Defense:71 (or this)
Speed:113
Exp. Points-84971
Next LV.-213
Ability-Early Bird-Awakens quickly from sleep
Aerial Ace-Flying
Taunt-Dark
Tri Attack-Normal
Fly-Flying

Besides the rare candy question, what do you think of him? I'm a little new to this game. He is better than my lv. 38 starter!

Whatahuh?! You were saying one minute that it kicks a** and the next you said he kinda sucks. I don't get it.
Anyways, Dodrio is actually a good bird to have, but this particular one... I'm not sure. His Timid nature makes him super-fast but cuts his Attack. You would probably want an Adamant one or a Naughty one, both of which raise Attack by 10% and lower Def and Sp. Def respectively by 10%. That's why he might not be quite up to scratch. As for moves, this set is pretty good, although Taunt is kind of useless. Try Steel Wing or Facade. (<-- fuh-sod, not fackade)
You can't get lots of Rare Candies at one time without AR unless you walk around in grass with a Lv90 Linoone (or any Pokemon with the Pickup ability). But I wouldn't recommend that because there are around ten in the normal game, and by the time you get a Lv90 Linoone, you probably won't need any rare candies anymore!

No there is not, unless you trade a Pokemon from the original red with all those rare candies from the Missingo cheat!

It's pretty good... But if you want to make it better, get rid of one of his flying moves... Teach him something that will cover a wider variety of types (A water type move will help him greatly, although I'm not sure what water moves he can learn... They will help you with rock, ground, and fire)...

I have a number of ways you may strengthen your Dodrio
1) Sadly, there are no flying type item boosters (for anyone who's interested, they multiply your attack power by 1.1), but if it's holding nothing, you could make it hold a silk scarf to build it's Tri-Attack Strength
2) If you're EXTREMELY BORED, go round the whole of Kanto with your Itemfinder. You'll find just about everything.
3) At Lvl. 47, you'll learn drill peck. Go to the move deleter to delete fly if another of your party can learn it. 4) Here is a list of all the T/HM's your Dodrio can learn
TM06 Toxic, 10 Hidden Power, 11 Sunny Day, 15 Hyper Beam, 17 Protect, 21 Frustration, 27 Return, 32 Double Team, 41 Torment, 42 Facade, 44 Rest, 45 Attract, 46 Thief, 47 Steel Wing, HM02 Fly.

In other words, Poison/Status, Normal, Fire/Field, Flying, Dark and Steel.

5) Get rid of Taunt, and by the way, the attack power is multiplied by 1.5 if the move is the same type as the Pokemon

By the way, Nice Dodrio.
