Question for Pokemon LeafGreen

What is a good team to beat the Elite 4? I started with Squirtile and I have Zapdos and Pidgeot. I can't catch Articuno it always escapes the Ultra ball on the first turn. I have him on red health and paralyzed. Can you please help me.

I was able to get through relatively easily with a level 70 Blastoise which knew brick break, surf, bite and ice beam and a freshly caught moltres as my fighting team (this required 2 revives).

If you have a friend who has leaf geen or fire red(ask him or her to do you a favour!). You could trade your Pokemon with high levels to your friend first. Start a new game and get a different starter (for example: Trade your Blastiose or other high level Pokemon to your friend and new game and choose Charmander and trade again and new game for a 2nd time and choose Bulbasaur).

Trade all of your Pokemon back and start to train on those weaker ones. With a high level Pokemon you should beat all the gym leaders in no time and during your fight with elite four you will have the three starters to fight for you!
